    Sweet potato fries
    Kiara D.

Seemed like a nice spot to grab a quick bite and cocktail. We came in after a day of running errands, so looking for a quick wind down. Ordered 1 cocktail, and it was good. Honestly, the sweet potato fries may have been the best thing we had. I ordered the veggie quesadilla and added chicken, it was only ok. We also had the chicken and waffles, the waffle was pretty good. We sat at a bar table, and although the bartender had several ppl at the bar, he was very attentive to us. I've heard good things about Olive or Twist, so I'm willing to give them another try for brunch.

The Olive Twist or Twist Burger 10/10! The Acadian Pastas 3/10! The Oreo bread pudding 9/10 very sweet! The pillow talk 10/10! The strawberry lemon drop 10/10! The strawberry mango margarita 9/10!

Okay I'm giving this 3 stars for the drinks but taking away 2 for the prices and food. I had the Pillowtalk martini and had to get another!! They were so. Good. The food however, was mid. Especially for the price. I had the Arcadia pasta and it fell a little flat. My friend had the shrimp and grits and was also satisfied but not pleased. I'd go back for the service and bar area for sure. Great vibe, wouldn't make a dinner stop though

Prices are a little high, but the service and portion sizes are good. The atmosphere is kind of a Louisiana bayou country mixed with urban French Quarter bar -like decor. The Grits Grillade is flavorful with a pleasant Creole spice flavor and tender meat. The coffee was fresh. Good service but the restaurant didn't have many patrons while we visited.

Bar has potential but feels like a has been. Junk and disarray around the bar contributes to a negative vibe. Happy hour is $8 cocktails. Pretty good deal. But not an upscale place.

I came to the restaurant after trying a bite of a friends meal and I really enjoyed it a while back. But I did not realize that they only served brunch on Saturday and Sunday, so I decided to try the chicken and waffles anyway. Unlucky for me, we were served the worst chicken tenders I quite possibly ever had in my life, and I mean that. I will show you in photos below, but the chicken was so dry and shriveled up that it literally fell out of the batter every time we picked it up and it had the texture of rubber, overpriced, and some of the worst food I've ever had. The server was really nice and made a good bloody Mary . The inside also kind of looks like an old tavern.

I was excited to try Olive or Twist but it was subpar. Majority of the appetizers on the hard-to-read menu are 'discontinued' which was an awkward moment. I definitely realized the place is more focused on the drinks than the food, but I unfortunately sent my drink back. The ambiance is nice but our waitress was extremely soft spoken and hard to hear. Most of the time she was on her phone at the hostess stand. I'm not sure if I'm going back soon.

Brunch is on point! Brunch is my favorite, so Olive or Twist's brunch definitely hit the spot. It was a busy Sunday, but everything was worth the wait. I started with the Sangria... it was orange-y, pomegranate-y, with a hint of strawberry. It was so good and totally a different take on Sangrai, but again, I loved it! And it was in a big glass, so no need for seconds. As my meal, I got the bananas foster French toast. Best decision I made all week. It was sweet and the bananas were perfect. The syrup was already on the plate when I got it, so it was a perfect ratio of syrup to toast (I hate when I overpour). I ate everything just because it was so tasty. There is parking, but you just gotta look for it! It is in a complex with a bunch of other restaurants and places, so the parking lot is small, but there is parking! It is a little small and noisy inside, but I love the decor....very modern!

    What I should've gotten

Ordered the creole 4 cheese macaroni and did not receive that. It was through DoorDash, and the restaurant did not call me or anything. They subbed it out without contacting me so I have no idea what I received. I am very upset with this order and will not be going back to this restaurant again.

So this is my second official review of Olive or Twist and they meet my expectations each time. My hubby and I stopped in for the weekday happy hour, our attempt to save a few coins lol. We ordered the Whiskey Smash ($8) and the Jungle Bird ($8)! Please note: there is no food on the happy hour menu, just drinks. Both drinks were good, the whiskey smash was our favorite! We ended up ordering the Chicken and waffles! My husband was pleased to know it was an option on the dinner menu. I ventured out to try the Wedge salad and added steak ($8). The food came out quickly and was hot! My salad was delicious, but I was a little disappointed in how little steak I got for $8. I think the portion could have been bigger, but inflation I suppose. It was cooked and seasoned to perfection though! Also, if you love blue cheese, they don't hold back on the Wedge salad! So much blue cheese, I was in love! Overall, we were satisfied! Once again, we'll be back!

What a great experience!!! I have to say I love this place. I came on a Sunday and the vibe was fun, and exciting and lively. It became more quiet and sultry as the evening went on - it was all lovely. The food and drinks were delectable!! The short rib egg rolls were heavenly and a great way to start the meal. I had the crawfish pasta, which was tasty. And the wings were sweet in a good way with a lovely chipotle sauce on the side. I had two drinks: the whiskey smash and the Bramble. They were both so sumptuous. The drinks are made really well in this restaurant and have a proper amount of liquor in my opinion. Apparently, Sunday is happy hour all day and the drinks were $8 each instead of the usual $12. The customer service was great! They were kind and fast despite how busy they were. My waiter provided great suggestions and descriptions of the drink and food menu upon our request and I loved it all! This is a definite 5/5. I cant wait to come back again! Highly recommend!

Morning Glory Burger, Eggs Boudreaux, & Chicken & Waffles were amazing. The flavored bottomless mimosas were very good! Lavender was my favorite!Great place for brunch !

The service was wonderful. The food was pretty good. I was very pleasantly surprised since it was my first time trying grits and grillades. The portions are great. I also loved the chicken tenders that came with the chicken and waffles, they were so fresh and delicious. The biscuits were dry, couldn't finish them. And the mimosas, as usual, did not disappoint! Great brunch spot.

I found to be more of a hamburger stand than a martini bar. Good food but the name is misleading.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with stellar customer service that set the tone for our entire experience. Our waiter, Justice, was truly delightful. It was an absolute pleasure being served by him. He was incredibly friendly, patient and attentive, especially with our party of 14, which included children. His attention to detail and welcoming demeanor stood out, and his positive energy elevated our experience. Justice went above and beyond, and his efforts did not go unnoticed! The entire staff working on Saturday, April 4 was top notch. Everyone we encountered was warm, helpful and professional. From the food and drinks to the atmosphere and overall service, everything exceeded our expectations. I can say this was a 5 Star Brunch experience. I will definitely be returning the next time I'm in Louisiana!

We specifically found this restaurant because we searched online for gluten free restaurants, so we were excited to see that you offered a separate gluten free menu. However, there are some serious issues with the accuracy of that menu that need to be addressed. When we asked about the pork rinds brought to the table, we were told they are fried in the same oil as everything else. That in itself is your choice as a restaurant, and we understand cross contamination can happen. We were also told the french fries are cooked in beef tallow in a separate fryer, but they are not considered gluten free, which is why they are not listed on the gluten free menu. Again, that is completely understandable. What is not acceptable is having items listed on the gluten free menu that are not actually gluten free due to cross contamination. The pork rinds and cheddar filled tater tots were both listed on the gluten free menu despite being fried in shared oil with gluten containing foods. For someone with celiac disease, this is not a small mistake or a dietary preference issue. My husband has celiac disease, and if he had eaten the pork rinds based on trusting the gluten free menu, he could have become extremely ill and potentially needed hospital care. Our daughter has gluten sensitivity, and she would have been sick for the rest of the night as well. Many people still treat gluten free as if it is just a fad diet, but for people with celiac disease, it is a serious autoimmune condition that causes real physical harm. To the OWNER: please educate your staff and kitchen on what gluten free truly means, and update the menu so customers can trust it. People with celiac disease should not have to risk getting sick because menu items are mislabeled.
