The service is quick and there is a wide variety of pizzas. We had hamburger, pepperoni , and sausage toppings . It's a wide variety of good old fashioned flavors (pepperoni, pesto, etc). Definitely better than some of the chain pizza places, Eg dominos or Pizza Hut, there are better pizzas to be found. The toppings were in sparse large chunks of meat. My big question is how do places like this stay in business? We ordered a cheese pizza, cheese calzone and breadsticks. The pizza crust tastes like cardboard. There was a good amount of cheese and sauce which I appreciated but it just didn't have any taste. The breadsticks were half burnt and were mostly tasteless and the calzone was just okay. I think we got some type of garlic aoli instead of ranch in them which just tasted funky. My rule of thumb is "if it has gourmet in the name, it probably isn't". And LA Gourmet pizza corroborates my theory. I've noticed eateries in this area with LA or OC in the title and am not really clear what the basis of that is. To my knowledge there is no Los Angeles pizza style. Or Burger Style. So what is LA Gourmet pizza? Answer: really mediocre. I came here with a group of mostly strangers after a CD release party that started in a rented uptown apartment, proceeded via $12 Ubers (for a 5-minute drive, seriously??) to a club, then to this nearby pizza place sometime between midnight and 1AM. The group ordered two pies, both of which were dry, thin, and short on ingredients. The flavor was fine without being remarkable. Pizza was available by the slice, cut from displayed pies that at that point of the evening were looking like they'd been sitting a while. My disappointment was not shared by all customers, as the place was busy with a line the entire time we were there. Service was fine, atmosphere was, well...fine. It was close to the club. I came in on a Friday evening. No one was there but the pizza was fresh out the oven. I got a veggie pizza and cheese pizza slice. The prices were good. Two slices and a drink $12. Now the cheese pizza was okay. The pizza crust was a little thicker than what I like. Not much flavor from the sauce. Then there's the veggie, one bite and all toppings slide off the crust lol. Not too pleasing to eat. Not much seasoning just cheese and fresh veggies. No herbs or spices. I couldn't eat the veggies at this point either it was just a mess on my paper plate. The soda was good though not flat at all. I think I'm good on the place. It's probably best to eat at 2 am after a night of drinking TBH. The older woman who runs the restaurant thought my food was being made as I waited but turned out it was someone else's order. She apologized and offered me a free soda. That was fine and understandable. They were swamped with to go orders. I ordered the Downtowner Pizza, Stromboli calzone and chocolate chip cookies. Everything tasted great. Was pleasantly surprised the taste of this pizza. Located in uptown off McKinney, LA Gourmet pizza is what your looking for to satisfy those hungry pizza needs. The aesthetic of the place is awesome. They have paintings of movie characters that say funny quotes that relate to pizza. Masks are worn by staff and not sure if social distancing is enforced. Pizza took about 15 minutes upon placing the order in store. Pizza is a thin crust pizza but it doesn't quite feel like it given the amount of cheese and topping they put into it. 4 stars because I've had better quantity/quality but my still overall impressed. read more

I'm from California, but it took me going to Dallas to try Los Angeles pizza. I've never understood why some cities try to replicate the food of other cities. Part of the reason I travel is to try the food that other cities and countries have to offer. If I traveled to Italy and there were a bunch of Chicago-style pizza restaurants...I'd hate that. I want Italian pizza in Italy and I want Dallasian pizza in Dallas. I would have been so much more excited to go here if the sign said Dallas Gourmet Pizza instead of LA Gourmet Pizza. Great for late night as it's right on McKinney Ave; and they're not horribly slow so you don't have to wait to long if you call ahead. The restaurant itself is a nice little cozy place, but they have a back room that I would think would be GREAT for any type of meeting, lunch meeting, or networking event. We have been loyal customers LA Gourmet for over two years... Good service, delicious pizza pasta and salads and have always had a good experience until recently. Tonight's order unfortunately never arrived even though we tipped handsomely and ask for no contact delivery. The driver contacted us after an extended wait to say that the order had been left for us in our lobby. Within two minutes I was there to find no order had been delivered, inside or outside of our building, and no evidence of delivery on the cameras. We were unable to reach the Driver when we called back the number he called us from or LA Gourmet as their voicemail had not been set up. We find this disappointing and very unsatisfactory... No call no show no food. We had a similar mishap with LA Gourmet about a month ago when our order arrived very different from what we ordered. They assured us they would make it right on our next order and we're going to make note to credit the missing items and the items which were prepared and sent in correctly . That never happened either. Not sure what is going on there or if they have been impacted by Covid but from our experience as a loyal customers I cannot recommend. :-( Come on folks... Let's start with a few basics If someone calls you back three minutes after you call them, answer the phone or respond to the text If your business closes and someone calls you back 10 or 20 minutes later you might want to have someone available to answer the phone to address any issues with your deliveries Double check the address where you are leaving items to be delivered to be sure the customer receives them Um...,... Set up your voicemail? When delivering food to the same address to the same customer you have had for two years, you might follow the same procedures. read more

When we walked in, one of the ladies at the counter was rearranging the pepperoni's on a pizza (already cooked) so that they were more evenly spaced. We ordered 3 slices, which were $4.50 each. The california pizza is amazing!!! Huge slices of avocado and lots of sun-dried tomatoes. The arugula fig and pistachio salad is off the charts as well and served w/ nice portions of all the toppings. If you like blue cheese & vegetables, the San Francisco pizza is an absolute must. The wings are really great as well. The barbecue is served with garlic aïoli and is so Yum. I don't think enough people know about this hidden gem.
