We recently moved into the area and are about four blocks from Oliver's. With the COVID event, we have been walking by waiting for Oliver's to reopen. The Yelp review and photos were so helpful while we waited for the reopening. We stopped by this week for a late lunch and sat on the patio area. The service was friendly and helpful. They were taking all the precautions for reopening and we felt very comfortable I had the spicy shrimp tacos and it was awesome. My wife had the grilled chicken & brie on a grilled ciabatta with a side salad and she ended up taking half of it home. If you are someone that likes your tea freshly brewed, theirs is great and they even leave a pitcher for the table. To wrap up lunch, we couldn't pass up the apple strudel. It was highly recommended on by Yelpers and it was great. Make a point to spot by and give Oliver's a try the next time you are in the area. Enjoy! read more

I've tried several items off the menu and they always manage to make it spot on, deliciousness! - Fried calamari with what I think is a homemade marinara sauce + red pepper flakes (nom nom!) - Salmon with couscous, spinach and tomatoes - Branzino (crispy skin ) with broccolini, potatoe and a delicious cilantro sauce - Lobster ravioli, tasted so fresh! - cheesecake - just do it! Haha - Cesar salad.. make sound basic but they add a toasted bread and all the proteins are scrumptious! - last but not least the bread they give with a cream cheese or butter (can't make what it is) filled with scallion and onion Ah! This little bistro is the cutest place. Very easy to miss as it is tucked away from the buzz of south beach. However, it may be easy to miss but I highly recommend that you don't miss it. Food is decent for the most part (some dishes, not all) but DON'T order anything for delivery. Let me explain... If you order more than 2 or more of each item there's a 60% chance you'll only get 1! I have been ordering here for over a year, the food is good. However, getting what you actually order has become nearly impossible in the past few months. I was ordering 3 quantities of the same item (Mahi-Mahi Sandwich) via uber eats. One day I ordered 4 and received only 1. Mistakes happen, so no big deal, I called the restaurant to see what went wrong they obviously have no clue because who knows how one can see an order at $70 for 4 sandwiches and decide to prepare just 1 sandwich. They tell me to re-order via Uber eats (keep in mind now I have to pay 2 delivery fees to get the same order) and then had to explain the whole situation to Uber to get my refund for the missing items on the original order. Then about 2 weeks after the first incident I decided to try again and it happens again, I go through the process of trying to get a refund AGAIN. I decided to take a 2 month break from this place because I didn't want to deal with that nonsense again. Then I ordered again, guess what? It happened again, 2 more times to be exact. How on earth do you have such incompetent people working there that can't count up to 3?! Needless to say I am done with this place, I don't have the patience to deal with this level of incompetence Bottom line, is this place has a few dishes that you should try IF you're dining in, but trust me you don't want to place an order for delivery from this place unless you are only ordering 1 ite. Beautiful spot and great service but ordered the chicken and waffles and it was quite possibly the worst chicken and waffles I've ever had. Under cooked chicken, dried out waffles, had some dipping sauce that came out of the freezer so it was rock hard, and unusable. Too bad, based on reviews I came here but wow this was bad. read more

I keep giving this place another chance-only bc I legit can see it from my balcony. I stopped for over 2 years bc I had to send a simple lox bagel order back twice-once for not being toasted at all and then bc it was burnt... I almost walked out but the manager managed to keep me there however the presentation was still pathetic (I wish I had taken a photo). Tonight I am here and ordered a shrimp appetizer and it looks like I am at a bad sports bar... I mean it's just absolutely absurd they put no effort into the presentation of their food and should be embarrassed. I get it - ppl are used to overpaying for food - but this was my last time here for a while unless someone else suggests it and is paying. Everything we ordered off the happy hour menu was so/so. Sliders were dry and bland... tacos we ehhhh without sauce .... Fries we got looked like they were from the end of the batch. I've had one great meal here one time out of the dozen I've been here... the vibe is cool... they have enough fans going this time of year but again- won't be back after this experience. Oliver's is a few blocks away from ocean drive and we took a Lyft instead of walking and it was about $5 total as it was dark out we didn't want to walk. It's a very nice restaurant, indoor and outdoor seating. We ate outdoors and it was very quiet with a nice atmosphere. We ordered drinks. I had a mojito, it was amazing! We had bread and awesome butter before getting our meals and then they gave us a refill on the bread. The server was great and attentive. The lobster ravioli had a delicious sauce that seemed somewhat sweet. The mushroom risotto was awesome and tasty as well and the shrimp risotto was unique and yummy. The lasagna was HUGE and had lots of meat sauce that made you not want to stop eating. Prices are average for Miami Beach. Definitely recommend. read more

Been a regular at Olivers for 20+ years or so...great location away from tourists and nice patio, but today........1. the chicken in the asian chicken salad was chewy, dry and cold. 2. they charged $12.50 for a glass of orange juice. 3. $14 for a small bowl of strawberries. 4. the bread that was ordered at the time of ordering the meal didnt arrive until 10+ minutes after the salads arrived, when we were almost finished with our salads. 5. That's one of those places where I like to go for breakfast (but just breakfast, about lunch and dinner experience I wasn't impressed) the quality of their food is on a very high level and the guys at the kitchen are doing an amazing job! I tried most of their breakfast menu and I figured out that I have 2 favorite dishes here corned beef hash (nothing special, simple dish and presentation but they do it really good!) and french toast (no doubts, the best in the city and maybe even in the state of Florida) the service is not bad (but not spectacular) their wait staff looks like is changing pretty often but they still manage to maintain the service on decent level. read more

I love this place for many reasons.... But the service dampers the experience. It seems like every time we go in there we are invisible. We have to practically beg to be greeted ordering and forget trying to get anyone to get the bill and another 20 minutes paying All and all we spent more time trying to be noticed then eating our food. Bottom line if you're gonna charge this much for food step up to the place as far as service goes because people get tired of it every other restaurant on Miami Beach never treats us this way if it wasn't convenient once a month we would not go there. Find was good - we had a salad and tacos- however staff was not great. Lots of attitude and at 5pm, they refused to make more decaf coffee - there was an entire night ahead of them - it wasn't 11pm. I'll start by saying that my review is solely based on the HORRIFIC service offered by the bartender and the manager today. I have eaten here before and the food was great and the service very pleasant. That was unfortunately very far from the case today. Being in the business for 20 yrs, I loathe these platforms and never write a review unless it's a good one. However, in this case, it warrants a review so hopefully Oliver wakes up and realizes the damage his staff is doing to his bistro. Being Sunday and having a sweet tooth I tend to cheat and like to get a bit of sweet with my savory for brunch. EVERY other restaurant makes the exception but not here, not this time and most certainly not this arrogant, know it all, manager. I sat at the bar and ordered a coffee and the corned beef hash, because who doesn't order CBH when it's on the menu? I asked the bartender if I could also order one pancake, to which she rudely replied no and walked away. Me being me, I asked to speak to the manager and when he came over, hot I might add, I asked the same question. He also said no very arrogantly and decided that I needed a lesson on how the restaurant business works. I most certainly don't having spent the last 20 yrs in the business and definitely not from him. First his answer was, we can give you one but we will charge you for 2 at full price, that's how we make our money. So screwing your customers and being a dick is how you make your money? That's nice to know! I said no thank you and the guy next to me says, that's a stupid answer, to which I agreed. Then he tells me it's the chef's rules and starts in with, serving one pancake and a cup of coffee is not beneficial and not how we make money. So I told him I ordered a full meal and wanted the pancake as a side dish and I was happy to pay a reasonable additional price. He didn't care and continued on his rant and starts to tell me that with 20 pans going at the same time the chef can't stop to make one pancake and it's the chef rules and we have been here for 20 yrs. So which of the excuses is it??Then he says, you asked the bartender and she said no and then you went over her head and asked for a manager. Why would you think my answer would be different? Well, because generally in a restaurant you want to please the customer and when one makes a simple request it should be honored or politely refused and then I would have accepted it. He just walks away huffing and puffing so there was no way I was going to spend my money here. I asked for a check for my coffee and from the end of the bar he yells, don't worry drink your coffee and don't ever come back. To which I replied, don't worry I never will. This place will most certainly not be here another 20 yrs if they keep this guy as a manager. He should not be in the HOSPITALITY business and most certainly doesn't know the meaning. Eat at your own risk! And Oliver, get rid of this guy; not a good look! read more

There are way too many options for breakfast in Miami Beach, just how can you decide quickly?! We decided where to go based on proximity (we were literally one block away) to try Oliver's on Saturday morning. I had the Belgian waffles with fresh fruit and a glass of orange juice, everything was delicious and came out extremely quick! I will say for the price I would have liked a little bigger waffle and OJ, at least a little pint glass of juice. Regardless, glad we tried it! Smolked Salmon Egg Benedict is my favorite brunch dish, and I just found a place that makes it perfect. The eggs are poached to perfection, and the sauce tastes the same as at a Paris bistro. I love the service as well: waiters are kind and helpful. Onbeyonce is homey on the inside. Outside seating is available but not too pleasant on one side by car meters. read more

3/4 of our meals were good. Our group had brunch, and the lox and such were ok, the popover thing was a little dry but nothing terrible. The bad was one of us ordered a Dutch Apple pancake. They got something else entirely.. it was like a pile of corn meal covered in candy strawberry syrup? She was super disappointed, and given the high price of the meal it was a surprise to completely fumble it. Extra stars for being better than most of the stuff near the beach. The atmosphere, and the quality of the food at this establishment was amazing. The entire meal was ruined, though because of the attitude and treatment we received from the server. We walked in and got our water, and then we're not seeing for another 15 minutes. I had to make contact with the hostess in order for her to get him to serve our table. Every interaction after that was extremely awkward, and he only spoke to me and not my company. I'm not sure if it was because of the color of her skin or because he thought that her and I may have been romantically involved, but it was very unsettling and almost ruined a great night. I highly recommend training your servers to be more inclusive and kind. There is no excuse for the same man to barely acknowledge us, but offer multiple types of water to start off at another table. read more

A glass of house wine was $17. I was underwhelmed by selections and prices. I ordered the burger, my friend ordered the vegan Cobb salad. Both were big disappointments. A burger should be a no brainer. This one was a single 1/4 pound frozen patty. Cheap bread. Single slice of lettuce, onions and tomato. Frozen fries. $24. The salad looked pretty, but the veggies were unseasoned and underdressed. And the tofu was just that. $28. She didn't eat it. The server was not at all concerned and made zero concessions. From the Russian Cossack word for "fast", a bistro is supposed to be a low key place where you can sit and enjoy a filling, hearty and tasty meal. On all of these, Oliver's hit the spot. Thinking back, I was here once pre-Yelp and enjoyed a good pasta dish. When this dreary rainy weekend found me on the west side of the beach - and after too much Italian food the past two weeks - I walked past the orange umbrellas on 9th and West and sat down inside, where the cool decor continues with paper "lanterns" in the ceiling. Service is pleasant yet functional, and I didn't have too much of a wait between courses. Maybe it was comfort eating because of the rain but I had a full 3-courser. My chicken satay appetizer had 3 pieces of chicken served on a bed of (tasty, even for salad hatin' me) pickled veggies with a mildly spicy peanut sauce. My main course was their "Madras Chicken". Pieces of spicy curried chicken with sweet with a kick mango sauce, and bits of maduros (sweet plantains) over an artistic looking rice dome make for a good dinner. Between the rainy day and late night out before, I was comfort eating and enjoyed their dessert crepe full of nutella and sprinkled with strawberries and bananas..vkusno! Really lovely little neighborhood spot. We went late (9:45) and sat beneath the lights on the quiet street. The food was so-so, but everything was very enjoyable so would definitely come back to give it another try. We got the grilled calamari, tuna Niçoise salad, shrimp risotto, with a side of pinot grigio :) The calamari was a little off (too chewy to cut), the tuna was a bit over cooked (not enough pink), and the anchovies were so good that if you don't like anchovies, you'd eat these ones. There was a LOT of shrimp with the risotto, a shrimp lovers delight - but will be my meal the next day because just too much to eat.
