This little Turkish restaurant is absolutely fantastic! Everything was delicious, flavorful, and authentic. The owner running the place was very attentive, friendly, and accommodating. It's everything we came for and then some. Our group of four women (one is Turkish herself, and the other is married to a Turkish man and visits Turkey often) thoroughly enjoyed dining here. We had both the Combo Appetizer and the Zeus Combo Platter to share. Perfect amount of food. The owner even made their coffees to go so we can catch a planned show on time! I will definitely keep this little hole in the wall on my list of favorites for next time! It's great to sit and socialize here. Everything is made to order, so relax a bit.

If you want truly authentic Turkish food, this is the place to be. Cozy ambience makes you feel like you are staying at your Turkish aunt's house enjoying Sunday meal. The grape leaves and tziki yogurt sauce with the best thing I've ever had. All the ingredients are imported and cooked with love seating is outside for two or inside for up to six people.

Olive's Mediterranean Restaurant, Emily St, Key West and me

What a delicious discovery! While deliberately driving a block or two off Duval St just to see if we could find a great little, off the beaten path, shop or restaurant that's where the locals only know about...we happened upon Olive's. It's a tiny little space possibly no larger than a double-wide food truck, with possibly 4 or 5 tables. And although we wanted local and authentic we still wanted to sit inside with AC. It's summer in the Keys. We're not savages! To make an already long story short, we arrived, the place was bigger than the couple of pics on yelp indicated, met the owner/chef/front of house/back of house/host, Ozzy, and was immediately won over by his charm, friendliness and passion to share his authentic Turkish/Mediterranean family recipes. Whether you like Mediterranean or not, if you value a great dining experience and you're in Key West, go!

The best Mediterranean food in the Keys! The owner Barrish, was so helpful and attentive and knowledgable about the menu. Everything was delicious and fresh. The interior was cozy and intimate. The blue and white decor really sells the atmosphere. The homemade ketchup was really light and sweet. The doner kabob with fries was the best and the lentil soup was divine, you could really taste the fresh vegetables and spices. The tea was very refreshing.

Skip whatever Italian place you're thinking of hitting, and get into Olive's. This place is by far the place to go if you want something filling, refreshing, and comforting. The owner is a sweet young man who cooks and serves, truly a one man show, and you can tell he puts his heart and soul into the food.

From the moment you walk in, you feel this casual vibe that makes this restaurant so unique to all the others in key west. Our host aka the owner of the restaurant was not only a kind man but he delivered excellent service. My bf and I shared the baba Ghanoush and the stuffed grape leaves which both were excellent especially when paired with the tzatziki sauce!!! I had the chicken shish platter which was amazing loved the flavor of the chicken and the salad that came with it was so flavorful and not just your average salad. It also came with tzatziki which of course was delicious as well. My bf had the kofte wrap, the wrap itself was great, the meat was well seasoned, the proportion of the sauce was great, the tomato based sauce that comes along with it was delicious especially when you dip the fries in it. Last we had the baklava which to me was okay but that's just because I don't really like deserts for my bf he thought it was amaaazinnggggg!! We also had a Turkish coffee which really brought the whole meal together. Everything was great albeit a bit pricey but .. it's key west. at least you get quality food and it's also great small date spot.

This was without a doubt the best Mediterranean food I have ever had! Everything was made completely fresh too. The owner, Ozzie, was very kind and easy to speak with too!

Olives is phenomenal! We ordered the sampler appetizer plate and the gyro platter. We enjoyed the delicious Turkish wine as well. Ozzy is the best chef and owner. His hospitality is amazing. We will be back everytime we are in key west!

Two of them had the Rösti, which is always good. Another had the crab cake BLT, another had the couscous bowl. Everyone enjoyed their food but I have to say I had the best goat cheese salad I've ever had. No little crumbles or fried disks. This was a different goat cheese with a rind and gooey, warm insides like a Brie--only better. The dressing was light and delicious. I like the ambience here a great deal, it's off the beaten track and a bit quieter both inside and out. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. We all had a great time.

Knowing the server was busy, I made my selection with no questions and no special requests. My food arrived, Breakfast sandwich with fruit cup and the server was off to other tables. Hungry, I started eating without table service i.e. no napkin or service for the fruit cup. I used the sandwich sword to spear the fruit. The server returned when I was about 75% completed with my meal. At that point I asked for table service which was promptly provided. The food was really good. I don't blame the server as he appeared to be handling all the patrons alone. My issue is that this isn't the first time at any restaurant that I have noticed less than stellar service/attention paid to the lonely patron versus the larger parties. Freaky I am done with poor service. I didn't reflect the service in my tip because everyone has an off day.

For the latter, the food was American seafood, but with a slight trend toward mediterranean (achieved simply through the addition of olives, capers, feta, etc. to some dishes). But for an all-around restaurant to please every family member, you could do worse. The kids enjoyed the pizza and pasta. Sadly, one of the biggest problems were the birds on the patio outside. The seagulls were especially aggressive. Some crafty person strung fishing line across the openings, but it is spaced far too wide and gave the birds no trouble at all. It needs a re-think.

Breakfast with a view!…read more The breakfast buffet is pretty average at Ocean. You'll find your typical selection of scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage, breakfast potatoes, pancakes, waffles, pastries, fruit, cereal and oatmeal. I had already loaded my plate when I discovered the made to order omelette station. Luckily the scrambled eggs were pretty good so I didn't bother with the omelette. In comparison to other hotel breakfast buffets the food was slightly better than average. Service was great and my waiter immediately greeted me with coffee and orange juice. Loved the generous glass of orange juice, but the coffee wasn't great. If you are staying at Hawk's Cay Resort this breakfast buffet is slightly cheaper than ordering room service at the hotel, but I would skip dining here if you have the option to cook your own breakfast in your villa.
