Everything was spot on...everything. Ambiance= perfection, whether it's for a romantic date or night out with friends. Service= excellent. Wanted for nothing. Now for the dishes.....we tried 3 apps and shared an entree plus a desert and everything was better than the next. The rice balls with the mascarpone puree were the best I've ever had (and that's with having them for NYC/NJ/Brooklyn). Salty and crisp to perfection. The burrata with the pesto....best pesto I've ever had! Ever! So many flavor. Mussels were good, probably wouldn't order again to try something new, but solid dish. Filet was cooked perfect with the truffle sauce. Shared the flourless cake and that was good too....more of a mousse I'd say, but good! Can't wait to go back. read more

Run don't walk to Olivia!! We absolutely loved it and it books up very fast, and with good reason! We ended up getting an early reservation and we loved everything we had. The garlic bread was the best garlic bread I have ever had, I think I could live on that for the rest of my life. All of the pastas were also to die for, and don't forget the espresso martini! Our entire experience was amazing and the place itself is beautiful. I would love to try every single thing on their menu. read more

Wonderful evening for an early birthday dinner with my Bestie. Thank you chefs for such a fantastic meal. The roasted tomato and burrata appetizer with arugula pesto was out of this world as was the pizza. And my scallops had the elusive but knock your socks off perfect sear. Our server Brendon and the management staff/front of the house especially @TommyOlivia did an outstanding job. The best recommendations for wines and pairings and so professional. I still miss @CafePonte in Largo but it was nice to have such a great evening. Just had to drive to tampa Thanks for the recommendation to my awesome friend Gary & Louise. If you go, you must try the garlic bread. It may seem like regular garlic bread, but this is the BEST garlic bread you will ever have. The only thing is that sometimes it can get a bit cramped in the space, so I recommend booking a reservation after or before a popular time! read more

Wow, wow, wow! I can not say enough good things about Olivia! From the service to the food, everything was phenomenal. We were in town from Orlando, and I was looking for the best Italian restaurants in the area. Olivia popped up so we decided to give it a try, and I'm so glad we did. For appetizers we got the arancini and burrata. The arancini was good, but the burrata was outstanding! The homemade pesto mixed with the roasted tomatoes and balsamic was delicious, and it paired perfectly with the creamy burrata. Next up was entrees, and I got so excited I forgot to take pictures. The short rib agnolotti was out of this world! One of the best pasta dishes I have ever had! I would drive the hour to Tampa simply to have this dish more often, it was that good! The Cacio e pepe was the other dish we had, and it was okay, but in no way compared to the agnolotti. For dessert, we opted for the apple torta, and I'm so glad we did. It was warm and delicious and paired so well with the cold vanilla bean ice cream and caramel sauce. Overall, I can't wait for the next time we're in Tampa because Olivia will be at the top of our list. So beyond amazing, and worth every penny! read more

It was my first time here to celebrate my birthday. I was very excited because everyone was raving about this place and I think it's the hottest place to get into right now in South Tampa. I've already tried Chef Ponte's other restuarants On Swann and Cafe Ponte so I knew I would not be disappointed. But I felt I kind of was disappointed by the food and service. Olivia seems like On Swann's older sister but who wants to be like her. The arancini was too rich for my taste. The bruschetta was surprisingly the star of the show. It was unique with the sweet grapes, honey and cheese. The Margherita pizza and rigatoni were good but not unique enough to come back for. We were too full to try dessert. I was a little disappointed that they don't do anything special when you tell them it's your birthday when you book a reservation. So I wouldn't come here to celebrate a special occasion if you want to feel "special". I would head over to Eddie V and Ocean Prime. read more

My best friend and I visited this spot for brunch one Sunday and had a nice time, but I am SO GLAD we decided to return for dinner. In my opinion, dinner blew brunch out of the water. If you're looking for a refreshing cocktail that has just the right amount of freshness, sweetness, and all good things of 2022, get the the Indigo! For an app, we got the Bruschetta, but don't think tomatoes and basil on some bread, think little red grapes, whipped ricotta, and bee sting honey with a sprinkling of pine nuts on fat bread. When I tell you we couldn't get enough, it was EVERYTHING! For entrees, I got the Scallops and Shrimp and my friend got the Mini Rigatoni. The scallops were seared perfectly and that truffle risotto was a perfect pairing. Not to mention the white asparagus.!! My friend raved about her Rigatoni. Don't think we stopped there...you know dessert was in order. We ordered the flourless chocolate cake. It was PERFECT. The vibe, ambience, people watching, but most importantly the food was stellar. Very limited parking with valet. Loved the look/ style but the dining room is very open and the acoustics makes it very loud and difficult to have a conversation. I also felt the tables were very close so not much privacy. The buratta appetizer was very good, though the toast was a bit too crisp for my liking, but would order again. The rigatoni bolognese had hardly any sauce, and the pasta was a bit dry slightly under cooked, would not recommend. Had a bite of the apple cake dessert it's way too sweet for me but my friend enjoyed it. Our server was helpful. Overall food could have been better, and I didn't like how loud it was. read more

This place was phenomenal! It was packed and we know why. The only negative I can say about this restaurant is the parking (there is barely any) and you need to make a reservation well in advance. They do have valet but when we went the line was literally wrapped into the street and there was only one guy parking cars AND going to get other cars. After valeting, the attendant told us that you could have parked across the street in the lot that says tow away zone and that nobody gets towed (not sure if I want to test that theory). Other than that little fiasco the restaurant itself was beautiful and the food all came out delicious!! I went for a girls brunch trip and we all enjoyed our meals. I can't wait to go back!! The menu does change from time to time so be prepared. I can't wait to try something new! read more

Honestly, everything aside from the ambiance and decor was mid/ meh. I went with friends earlier this week and was really looking forward to it because the first time I dined here was awesome. Maybe I hyped it up in my head unrealistically because everything was either average or a let down. The best dish I had was probably the charcuterie board, and the worst dishes were the cacio e pepe (bland) and the tiramisu (had half an inch of cocoa powder covering the top. Imagine the cinnamon challenge circa 2012, but with a dessert you paid for). My server was not around often but the servers assistants were helpful. For 3 people we spent $120 before tax and tip. The food was disappointing and I am unsure if I will be back. read more

I loveeee Olivia! The ambience, the service is always great but it doesn't get 5 stars from me because of inconsistency of food. My pasta is sometimes cooked perfectly and sometimes it has to be sent back due to how hard the pasta is. The Wagyu carpaccio is unique and very impressive. Don't miss on the dessert. Drinks are lovely, definitely top contenders for best old fashion and espresso martini! read more

My wife and I went to a Olivia for our 4th anniversary. We've never been there before but have heard good reports. Everything about this restaurant was great EXCEPT it was extremely loud inside. It is definitely not a place to go for a romantic night out as it is so loud inside. The fact that it is a popular watering hole with an open floor plan makes for a very loud atmosphere. The food was amazing and so was the service. We will most likely go back sometime but just not if we want a quiet romantic dinner. We are not ones to shy away from loud places at all, but it wasn't the anniversary celebration atmosphere we were looking for. read more

Talk about vibrant food, elegant ambiance and bold flavors. My first time at Olivia was a success. It had always been on my list but my hesitancy stemmed at the odd location of the restaurant. We had a reservation and even though it was a Tuesday night, it was popping so I do recommend making one to ensure a spot. My guest and I sat down and were kindly greeted by our server. I ordered a glass of cab and he ordered a strawberry mocktail while we gazed over the many dishes we were going to order. We started off with the Yellowtail Crudo, Grape Bruschetta and Roasted Oysters. I was very impressed by the presentation of the Yellowtail - vibrant and fresh looking. It had this spicy Mayo on top and it was delicious. I could taste the thought that went into the dish. Our server recommended the Grape Bruschetta and it was great. I love a good savory and sweet moment. The mozzarella paired nicely with the hot honey and sweet grapes. Our third appetizer was the Roasted Oysters and they were great! They definitely have a stronger seafood taste than other cooked oysters I have had in the past so if you don't like a bold oyster taste - I would pass on this dish. For dinner we had the classic Cacio E Pepe and 16 oz Boneless Ribeye. The pasta was creamy and delicious. My favorite was the Ribeye. It was perfectly cooked medium rare and I enjoyed the outside crust that was garlicky and smoky. YUM. For dessert we had the Apple Butter Torta and Waffle Bomboloni. I would pass on the waffles next time since they were a tad dry. You can never go wrong with a warm apple torta with vanilla gelato. It was all delicious. I'm super happy with my experience. read more

We came here to celebrate my daughter's graduation and had a great evening. The food was perfectly prepared, from the apps to the entrees and then desserts. Faves were the garlic bread(best we ever had) and the apple caramel torte. Our servers helped us order wine( Pinot noir) and gave guidance to the right picks for everything. I've never had halibut the way it was meant to be cooked until I got it here. It was loud and happy here. We will be going back for more! read more

I really wanted to love this place because it was recommended by a few foodie friends as a great date night location, but there were 3 things that really made the experience bad for me and my husband...and we are not picky people. Our experience was for a Friday night dinner. We had made a reservation for 8pm. I'll start off with the positive. Our server was kind and very attentive and his tip reflected our gratitude. My filet mignon was cooked perfectly and the truffle butter was a perfect addition to the steak and the truffle Mac and cheese was also delicious. Our goat cheese sformato appetizer was also very delicious...I just wish it came with more crostini to eat the cheese with. On to things we didn't like: 1. Parking is terrible. They are very crowded and your only option is valet if you want a spot and I was not comfortable handing off my vehicle to valet, so we parked across the street and walked over. 2. It's very loud and crowded and definitely not a romantic dinner experience. To top it all off, we were seated next to the servers ordering monitors and where they stop to pick up utensils and we had to yell across our tiny table just to hear each other. There really shouldn't be a table here. 3. We didn't enjoy the squid ink pasta dish because the pasta was chewy and stuck to each other. I don't know if that's how it was supposed to be because it was our first time trying it, but I would guess not. Unfortunately, we didn't stay for dessert because i really couldn't handle how loud it was, so I can't speak for their desserts. Meet the Business Owner: Chris P.

Chef Chris Ponte began his culinary career in Europe, where he studied at the esteemed Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, France. After graduating, he apprenticed at critically acclaimed restaurants around the world before opening his 1st restaurant, Cafe Ponte. Since opening, Cafe Ponte has won numerous awards, including Zagat's “Best restaurant on the Gulf Coast" and being inducted into the Nation’s Restaurant News Hall of Fame. All of Chef Ponte's restaurants, including Cafe Ponte and On Swann in Hyde Park, are a part of his family-owned business, The Ponte Group, which he runs with his wife Michelle and son JT Mahoney. Together, they have created OLIVIA, Tampa Bay's new and unforgettable Italian dining experience.

We arrived to Olivia on Valentine's Day, a little after 7pm and was seated right away. The restaurant decor is so beautiful and clean. We ordered a couple of drinks that our server Persimma have recommended and both were refreshingly good. I got the Claire while my husband got the drink with cucumber in it. For appetizers, we ordered the Wagyu Carpaccip and the Truffle Fries. The Carpaccio was carefully placed atop Parmesan Puffs. It was SUPER DELICIOUS! The meat just melted in my mouth like butter and the Parmesan Puffs were airy with the right amount of crunch! The fries did not disappoint. It was not greasy at all, and fried to perfection. It felt so light! For our entrees, we opted for the Valentine's Day special which was the Filet Mignon. And we also ordered the Black Ink Pasta. The filet was tender and cooked as ordered. The seasoning was just right! It wasn't underwhelming nor was it too salty -- just right. The pasta dish was cooked al dente. It also tasted FRESH! Probably because they make their pasta fresh in-house. For dessert, we shared a Tiramisu. I will say that the Tiramisu was powdered heavily with Cacao that my husband started coughing upon his first bite. The dessert was actually not heavy at all I thought unlike most Tiramisus I've had. It felt light and airy, and I love the mixture of textures it offered (soft, crunchy, creamy, powdery.) Our server Persimma went above and beyond. We couldn't have asked for much better service. She explained the menu to us knowing its our first time and made stellar recommendations. I was recommended to try this relatively new restaurant and was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it. I don't think Tampa is generally known for it's quality Italian food, but I think this place definitely has some delicious options and the ambiance is so nice. The dinner time gave me candle light dinner vibes and definitely on the fancier end. First of all, I'm a huuuge fan of bruschetta and burrata. The burrata is one of my all time favorites that I've ever had. It came with balsamic and pesto which were both so flavorful and paired greatly with the cheese and tomatoes. The bruschetta was different than normal as it has honey and almonds on it, and most surprisingly of all, it had peeled grapes on it rather than tomatoes. Honestly, I wasn't a huge fan just because I do enjoy a classic bruschetta and love the refreshing taste of tomatoes but this was a unique take on the usual and if you like sweeter things, this might be the appetizer for you. Along with this, you may also enjoy the soppressata pizza as it also has a honey drizzle on top, which I was also not too much of a fan of but it's definitely something cool and different to try. All that being said, the caccio e Pepe here is phenomenal. The pasta is cooked perfectly Al dente and the sauce is so tasty. Lastly, the chicken Milanese with arugula salad is a great option for lemon butter sauce lovers and definitely sits lighter in your stomach than most of the other entrees. The pasta we tried was a little chewy for my preference, so next time I would personally stick with the Chicken Parm. The service, however, was exceptional. The staff was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and friendly throughout the entire experience. We visited Olivia last night for my husband's birthday dinner and we couldn't have been happier with our experience! They were able to easily accommodate to my gluten free diet, which is a huge plus. We had the GF Burrata, GF Scallop and lemon risotto, the short rib anglotti (not gluten free), GF chocolate cake, and tiramisu (not gluten free). We also enjoyed the cocktails and wine recommended by our server Kelsey. She was super friendly and knowledgeable on the wine options and was able to provide guidance on the gluten free options. The restaurant itself is a beautiful and fun atmosphere without losing the elegant feel. The only negative part of the night was the hair in my food. I came here on a Sunday night and can definitely see why it's such a popular spot! The restaurant itself is beautiful inside, with plenty of parking and even valet service available. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. We had multiple people checking in on us throughout the meal. I ordered the sausage and pesto pizza along with the garlic bread, and my friend and I shared the penne alla vodka. I also tried a couple of my friend's pasta dishes. While the pizzas were delicious, I found the pastas lacking in flavor. I think it was a bad day for me and my girlfriend as we did not make a reservation and sat at the bar during lunch. Overall service was a bit sub par at the bar and we waited like 30+ minutes until our food arrived. I had the Cacao E Pepe and the (i forgot the name) spicy pizza and they came out cold and a pretty bland. The interior was stunning tho and looks like a good place for a late dinner.
