    Chicken piccata

Truly a gem I can't believe I haven't been here before. I'm normally disappointed by chicken fettuccine alfredo, because normally the sauce is bland when I order it at restaurants. This place makes their own handmade sauce which obviously put mine to shame, and I think mine is pretty good so this was definitely well above what I make. Their bread comes out fresh, and warm, and has wonderful flavor. The chicken piccata was great too but the chicken alfredo was simply fantastic. The chocolate chip bread pudding was exactly what you'd expect, a soft bread like cookie that was melt in your mouth delicious. The chocolate for me is a bit rich, but it's still an outstanding dessert. The waitress was so nice and frequently checked on the table. Interior is small so I hear reservations are recommended for that reason

To change things up, we try different places all the time.. We gave this a try, and it was pretty good. The inside was not big, but it was clean and cozy. The service was good. The server was very attentive. The food was good too. Everything tasted clean and fresh. It's was really well presented too! I would come here again if I was in the area.

A friend of my husband invited us to celebrate my husband's birthday. He suggested this restaurant. It was a good choice! The food is delicious, I like the lobster ravioli, the entrance is a traditional bread with olive oil. The ambiance is cozy, small and nice to enjoy with friends and family. The service is very friendly. The price is reasonable.

Our Company Anniversary Dinner was Phenomenal! The waiter with the LA Hat Alfredo was very Polite and very attentive with drinks and making our table spacious and comfortable by clearing up our plates as soon as they were empty. The Chef Eddie made all of our dishes from scratch! Very talented making 6 different dishes at once! Highlight here was Eddie with the food.. ask for Alfredo to serve you!

Well unfortunately I can't give Olivio's more then two stars. My first impression after walking is was that it lacks both organization and cleaning. So let's move on to rhe food. My husband ordered mushroom risotto, it wasn't bad but we both think they use canned mushrooms not fresh. I ordered lasagna, it also tasted ok except I like my pasta al dente. This pasta was over cooked and there was no distinct difference in texture, so it was like sauce, cheese and pasta mush in my mouth. Also the ficassia bread they served was so so bland. I would say it was frozen. The ambiance may have been nice at some time but it is old, dirty and worn out now... even the clock was dead. Needless to say I would never recommend this place to anyone. Oh almost forgot, my husband got lobster ravioli, it came with 2 horrible looking asparagus spears on top of it.

Taco place nearby smelled good but screens covered the walls, not my thing, so I walked a block further, mellow vibe & smelled even better, warm welcome from new waitress (Danielle, I think). Delish bruschetta & light focaccia w/ oil/vinegar served, quick service but not rushed, got a glass of cab, ordered butternut squash w/ sautéed sage - she did warn me it had amaretti crumbles for a little sweetness, which I loved, but others may not, the parm added & pepper balances it nicely. Music was mellow pop but not too schmaltzy, w/ alt sprinkles. It's a little gem in Simi like the waitress said, hope to revisit again when I travel to this neighboring valley, cin-cin!

First visit to Olivio's recently. Had it bookmarked for a long time, and would often gaze longingly as we drove by on First Street often. I love good Italian food, and the place looked so cozy from the outside; a potentially great combination. Overall, the food was higher quality than can often be found in Simi Valley establishments. Being in Ventura County with so much fresh produce and other farm-to-table options nearby, it can be disappointing how unimaginative the meals can be in Simi. Olivio's does help raise the bar. If only the service went with the food. Our server looked like she didn't especially appreciate her job. She wasn't rude, but she didn't provide the kind of service that might be expected to match the food quality. Often at a good Italian restaurant the server will engage with the diners in explaining the nightly specials, or offer suggestions. This didn't happen. Dear Hubby and I weren't famished, so we decided to split an entrée and split a salad. We went with the chopped salad; full of tasty bites of various veggies over crisp lettuce with savory balsamic dressing. That, coupled with the bread service of tender, fluffy, flavorful bread, made for a great set up for the main course. For that, we chose the seared ahi tuna over pasta in a country-style tomato-based sauce. Excellent! One of the best entrees I've had in a long time. The kitchen was kind enough to split our orders onto two plates without an extra charge. The sauce was light, but satisfying with its perfectly seasoned elements. It was a chilly evening, so we passed on sitting outside on the patio. I would look forward to returning whenever it finally decides to warm up around here. The interior of the restaurant is long and narrow. There might only be 10 tables inside. The outdoor patio gives them a lot more capacity. Dear Hubby decided to pass on having a beer, since they only offer bottled, nothing on draft. We also passed on dessert, as the choices didn't have much to offer that was non-dairy. Again, this is one of the best quality foodie options that we've discovered in Simi. We shall return! Hopefully we'll have a happier server the next time.

Ordered online for lunch last Thursday, said they're open at 11am. Called, no pick up. Grub hub took order and give estimate time, came by and no one was there. Is this place still open? Im disputing the charge now..

It looks like their takeout menu (at least the "order online" one) is EXTREMELY limited compared to their dine-in menu. Is that true?

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of how their Caesar is served in wedges instead of being chopped up, but overall the food was still delicious! I hate when they try to sell you pics but that's the way it goes and not a complaint. Just she would do better if she could converse with people and show some personality. I ordered brisket sandwich. It was just ok. Bread was soft and not of the higher quality you would expect like a fresh baguette. Fries were excellent. Portions were generous. Wife liked the beef brisket she ordered but they were out of bbq beans. Hard to believe for a "BBQ" restaurant. A manager should never let that happen. Would I go back? Hard to say but wouldn't crave it.

Neon lights, cute signage, and overall they just did a really great job with the design and execution. There's a lot going on but it doesn't feel cheap. Ambiance is definitely A+. For dinner on a weeknight we found this spot wasn't too busy but we also came after happy hour. It was a relaxed vibe. Service was overall pretty good. I felt like all of the gals working were very very sweet and nice. Also, anytime we stopped them to ask for refills and such we got what we asked for. That's my only upgrade as since it wasn't super busy, it would have been nice for the staff to catch the refills on water or salsa on their own/more proactively but hey, it was again a relaxed lowkey night and the staff couldn't have been lovelier. I'm just curious how the service would be if they were super busy? Now on to the food and drinks. The menu was very impressive! Solid cocktail and drinks menu. I'm bummed I didn't get a cocktail but my party doesn't drink so it was more fun to get an agua Fresca with them. The guava one was good and served nicely chilled. However, next time I'll definitely get a cocktail because their drinks looked fun and beautiful. The food was definitely the standout for me. I ordered the cheese enchiladas Suizas and they were a 10/10. Not comparable to most enchiladas I've had but the sauce was fantastic and unique. I really loved these enchiladas and I'd honestly get them again. Solid flavor in the rice and beans as well. My friends also enjoyed their meal and it seemed like everyone was happy. The pricing is a little steep for Mexican food but also the ambiance and presentation make sense to me why it'd be a little more. For the three of us the bill was over $100. And that's for three mains and three non-alcoholic drinks. Normally at $33-ish a person I'd hope for at least a beer with my enchiladas, so keep that in mind. As a special occasion place or a spot to celebrate this spot is truly fantastic. I honestly loved my meal so much that even with the price point I'd rush back and bring more friends because this spot is vibey. Some of the meats were a little dry. I wish they had a little more flavor to them. They gave me two different salsas to add and that helped. But I would definitely like to see the flavors of the tacos improve. I always crave sushi. That was a must try for me. I thought I would try the fiesta mariachi roll for the first trip here. We ended up wasting our time and had to scramble to find another place that could accommodate our group. What made the experience even worse was the way the staff handled it. While my dad was calmly trying to speak with the employees at the front desk to understand what happened, they literally walked away from him instead of listening or trying to resolve the issue. That level of disrespect and lack of customer service was unacceptable. If the restaurant has different policies for major events like the World Cup, they need to communicate that clearly and make sure all employees are giving customers accurate information. Our group genuinely wanted to support this local business and enjoy an evening together. We were actively purchasing wine and bottles, but throughout the evening, we felt increasingly unwelcome. We were each told by Melanie that an additional gratuity fee would be added because our group was considered "large," even though this was never communicated to us beforehand. We were also given the impression that our group needed to be finished and out by 6 PM, despite the business being scheduled to remain open until 10 PM. No time limit was communicated to us when we arrived. Additionally, some members of our group were charged regular prices rather than the advertised happy hour prices, which added to the frustration and confusion surrounding the evening. While we were never directly told to leave, the way the situation was handled (Melanie) made us feel pressured to do so. We would have happily stayed and continued purchasing drinks, but once we felt that our presence was no longer wanted, we decided it was best to leave. What was especially disappointing was that the business was not particularly busy that evening, and our group was not preventing other customers from being seated or interfering with business. This made the experience difficult to understand and left us feeling singled out. I understand that businesses may have policies regarding larger groups, but those policies should be communicated clearly and upfront. Unfortunately, the way this was handled felt unprofessional and left a very negative impression on our group. We genuinely wanted to enjoy and support this local wine bar, but based on our experience, I would not recommend it. Will not be returning.
