My fiancé and I dropped in and we're promptly seated and helped by our server who got us both coffees before letting us look over the oddly extensive menu. They were out of Biscuits and Gravy sadly. I ended up with the patty melt and my fiancé had the Olympia omelet, which contain giant pieces of Italian sausage, potato and peppers. It's that place you drove by plenty of times and didn't realize there was a cool diner there. It started innocently enough. I wanted a gyro and we looked around to see who had a good one. We called ahead and made sure Olympia was open and then we were off to the place. As we got closer we both mentioned we weren't positive what it looked like. the funny thing was we both drove by that part of US1 all the time. But as we pulled in be harmonized, "ohhh", as we both recognized it. Instead of a typical Greek restaurant, it was actually a diner, with a powder blue sign. I was a little more energized to get in and see a menu. I like a good diner and it had been years since the last time I was in one. As we swung into our booth I took a tally of how classic of a diner it was. There was the counter seating, spacious booths, the long diner layout, and of course, spinning cakes. We order fairly quick. It was a large menu but we actually had a good idea what we wanted. I got the Gyro and onion rings, she got a tuna melt. In quick order we had out meals. The really nice server brought over the additional things like hot sauce and condiments and we dug in. The Gyro had more cucumber sauce that I've had before, but I do love the sauce. Also they darn near minced the onion and tomato. Different. the onion rings meanwhile were as classic as a A&W rootbeer. Left I Hop because wait time to be acknowledged was unacceptable. Headed to Another Broken Egg when we saw Olympia Diner sign and decided to stop. Best decision ever. We were greeted immediately and seated. Bridgette was our server and she was very attentive. Food was delicious, prepared well. Our server is great, and the food was fresh and delicious. The home fries are absolutely out of this world and I would get them well done as a personal suggestion. I got the Aleksandar omelette which had a bacon ham, American cheese, onion, and mushroom, and then my boyfriend got the Greek omelette and asked for tzatziki sauce on the side. Having grown up in New York we love a good diner. Living in Deerfield Beach we have been going to Olympia Flame Diner for over 16 years! It is a typical Greek Diner. It is consistently good and Very reasonably priced. It has been in this neighborhood for many years and is a hometown favorite. Many locals frequent this place and you will always find it crowded with snowbirds in the season. It is family run and you will always see a family member welcoming you as you arrive. The service has always been on point and the restaurant is always spotless! There is parking right in front, on the side and in the back. Having recently relocating to the Tampa area when we visit family we come back to Olympia for breakfast. If you are in the area I recommend to give them a try, you won't be disappointed. read more

We had lived here for 16 years, and have always found this diner to have excellent food and service. It is family owned and operated for many years. The feel is classic 60's -70's decor. This last visit was for breakfast. I had a ham and swiss omelet, home fries and rye toast. Ive had their pancakes, french toast, bacon and sausage. All the items always tasted very good. For lunch and dinner there are the usual menu items you will find in a diner. Sandwiches, salads, burgers, steaks, chicken fish, and greek specialties. This is a great little diner in Deerfield Beach. We went on Sunday morning around 10am, so it was very busy but I loved that they were very accommodating and service was very quick. We had a party of 4 adults and 2 toddlers and they set us up very quickly. We waiting for an out 5 to 7 minutes for a table. Our server was very sweet and accommodating. The breakfast platters came out quickly and everyone seemed to really enjoy their meals. The food was good. I had the YiaYia salad and many pieces of cucumber were really bitter, like they had turned. The pancakes, which my son had, were really good. We will go back to this restaurant and try other things. The staff is very friendly and I love that they use compostable straws. It's great so close to the beach and it's great using sustainable products. read more

I only get to frequent Olympia so often as I am not in the area much. But when I do get there, everything always stands out and I leave happy. Holdings it's ground for 28years now & Olympia still serving up the classic American Greek & Italian specialties. Family owned, running that American dream and it doesn't disappoint. Sure some days you may come in and catch a staff member on a bad day but this is the standard classic diner life here. Great food, can be pricey for some but they're in a primetime area so needs must be met I'm sure. Growing up in MI we have diner like this everywhere and I don't see that down here, let alone a place that even has SAGANAKI!! My favorite app to get; usually flamed up table-side and you yell opa as it hAppens; this unfortunately doesn't get down that way here. Regardless it still comes out the same and its crack. Wasn't two hungry after two orders if saganaki and so I split a gyro with my friend. Everyone loved what they had and I know any of us are looking forward to going back. After an early morning Sunday drive down by the water, my friend & I were ready for a good breakfast. I love trying new places so when this diner was suggested I was all ready to go. We were greeted by a very nice hostess who sat us immediately. They were not very busy when we got there but when we left they were packed. The employees looked happy & it felt very cozy. The waitresses look like nurses. They wear white uniforms that look exactly like what a nurse would wear. I do not understand that. Many many years ago when I was a waitress, I was constantly getting food all over me. Okay, I wasn't a great waitress, maybe I dropped way to many plates but I knew I was always dirty at the end of my shift. White just seems like an odd color for a server that's all. But then again, not everyone is as clumsy as me. Within seconds of being seated, Jean came over & offered us coffee. I was only drinking water but my friend said the coffee was very good. He is picky when it comes to coffee so if he liked it I am sure it was pretty good. We ordered a short stack of pancakes, french toast & side of bacon. We shared everything. I ordered the bacon extra crispy & it was excellent. I like french toast a little thicker on challah bread & this was prepared on a thinner bread. I thought it was okay but my friend enjoyed it a lot. The pancakes were ridiculously good. They were light & fluffy & yes I want to go back for more. Jean came back to check on us several times. Before I needed more water she was all ready there to refill it along with my friends coffee. She was not overly chatty but then again it was 7am on a Sunday. We were very happy with the service we received & will definitely ask to be seated in Jean's section next time we go. I felt very safe because a group of cops came in to eat & took over a good section of the dining room. They looked like regulars to me. I was thinking about asking them if I can take their picture but I was starting to annoy my friend. He does not think it is normal to take pictures of my food & I think I was embarrassing him. I did manage to get a few good pictures. :) I am looking forward to trying some of their Greek dishes. Actually I am also looking forward to more of those yummy pancakes... I wouldn't feed them to an animal! It just isn't worth visiting for non-friendly service, higher prices, & below average food. If you look at all the reviews, the owners answers patrons with sarcastic or glib remarks. She should be apologizing or understanding. I wouldn't be shocked if they close soon. Sign on door says hours 8-2 on Saturday. Arrived at 1:50, and the door was locked! Knocked on the glass door and owner pointed to the sign showing the hours, so I knocked again, she then opens the door and very rudely says, " we close at 2 o'clock, to which I replied, " it's not 2 yet"! She then says, " but the kitchen closes at 1:46", and slams the door!!! There are many diners in the area with food just as good, and a very helpful and polite staffs. Really solid Greek diner, and I'm from NJ so I have high standards when it comes to diners! I ordered the Monte Cristo and it was one of the best I've ever eaten. The bread was lightly cooked and not at all greasy. There was a generous amount of meat and the Swiss cheese was oozing everywhere. The sandwich came with perfect French fries, tasty cole slaw, and a pickle! My husband ordered the Gyro which came with a ridiculously delicious Greek salad, as well as lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber and olives on the platter and some tasty tzatziki sauce. Very disappointing from our last visit and used to go regularly for breakfasts. They have somehow lost the plot and we won't be going back. It's the same OFDiner but without the friendly atmosphere of old. Food arrived lukewarm, served on cold plates, and an order was not complete, but these things I can live with. She purposely walked by meninnline and sat a gentleman who enter after me, who she knew by name, knowing it was the last table available. She spoke highly of this place and I understand why. Growing up I've never really been a big diner guy. As I've grown and matured I've come to appreciate them more. Had breakfast, food very mediocre, waiter/service good, had bagel with our breakfast and when we got bill there was a 3.00 charge for cream cheese. We go Out to breakfast a lot and have never had anyone charge for cream cheese with the bagel . When I went to pay the owner was taking the money and I mentioned this to her, she responded by being very nasty. She told me there was no restaurant anywhere that doesn't charge for it which is simply not true she became very argumentative and nasty said they have been charging this for 36 years and also we're going to go up on the price again. It's not the three dollars but Think the waiter should've mentioned it.I just always assume if you get a bagel the cream cheese goes with it at least that's always been my experience.
