I've eaten here a couple of times. A great place to eat when it's late and you crave a good burger and a couple beers.

The greatest gluten free pizza crust ever! In fact it was so good we asked the server if it was gluten free. She assured us it was and then even went back to the kitchen to get an explanation as to why and how they were making it these days so she could explain to us what was what. This is the worst McMennamins location in their whole family. I've been to Forest Grove, Cornelius Pass, Rock Creek, Bothell, Edgefield, NW Portland and this one. The interior is run down, the men's room small and outdated (not outdated cool like the brand normally has but old and cruddy), and the service every time we've gone (4x) has sucked. Most recently I ordered a burger and fries. The burger was good but the fries were soaked completely through with grease. My wife picked one up and squeezed it just to see the puddle it formed. I showed the waiter the soggy fries and he just shrugged and asked if I wanted anything else. No "I'm sorry, it shouldn't be that way" or anything. We didn't have time to wait for another order to come out so I didn't ask him for more. But I did expect to see a few dollars taken off the bill but was charged full price. :-(. We won't be going back there again and suggest you avoid it too. read more

How could you not want to dine in a beautifully restored and maintained historic building where the come-on is "Dine in style where card sharks and legends once roamed." (The original pool hall and tables, along with a huge country wood stove, are still in residence.) The gorgeous period bar -- Tiffany lamps, dark hardwoods, Persian rugs, Art Nouveau stenciling, and beveled glass -- serves up 200 specialty ales each year, and the dinner menu features classic pub fare "with a Northwest kick," along with hormone-free beef, specialty pastas, Alaskan salmon, and huge main-dish salads. I would have unhesitatingly awarded this restaurant five stars, were it not for the waitstaff. (More about that later.) The cuisine DOES deserve five stars. The baked salmon was absolutely scrumptious and cooked and seasoned just right. It was accompanied by REAL Yukon Gold mashed potatoes and a fresh vegetable medley, all done to perfection. The dinner salad of baby greens and sliced red onions was drizzled with a delicious fresh ranch dressing, and you can request the cheesy sourdough toast to accompany it. For dessert, you can't go wrong with the creme brulee, every delicious fat calorie of it. Unfortunately, our server (two earrings, hipster attitude, and hyena laugh) was not trained correctly in how to follow up with checking on his customers for satisfaction with their dinner selections (he disappeared), nor did he show up to refill the iced tea or produce the Equal packets and extra napkins I requested. I live really close to this place... Everytime I go it's hit or miss. The service is always terrible, and the food is mediocre at best. We usually avoid going here and to the rest of the McMenamin's chains up and down the coast. read more

Easily the most appealing location in Chehalis. Good beer and better food.

Great place to eat, drink, socialize as it has the usual McMenamins feel. Stayed the night but can't recommend that. The $60 seemed like a smoking deal but I found out why when I was woken up all throughout the night by the train whistle. Each time id almost fall asleep there would be another train seemingly baring down right on top of me. read more

Mahi mahi tacos, cajun cobb salad, rabbit red wine and some great ambiance! I've been here twice on our way to Seattle. My husband and I love this place for the food and customer service. Always very friendly and personable. We got our passports stamped and the manager and all staff were very kind and attentive. This is definitely on our list of places to visit whenever we're near! [Good] Creepy hotel, as expected for McMenamins. My husband thought the movie theater was the coolest thing ever. Both bars were were cute. One of our servers look like she hated life and was pretty rude to us. The male servers who work here seemed nice enough. read more

Love the food, but we absolutely love the theatre kid friendly and super affordable. It makes for a good date night or a great family movie day! Comfy couches and food served during movie!!! Only thing is during summer months it is uncomfortable with not AC :( read more

My girlfriend and I went in last weekend 7/19. It was kinda busy but still didn't seem crowded. We walked in and all the staff just walked by us they said "excuse me" but not a single offer to help. We looked around for a few minutes then decided to stand up front. Finally a waitress came up to us and asked if we were looking for a seat. We said yes so she straightened her stance up looked around and said "nope" outside". We felt very unwelcome and being a fan of Mcmenamins establishments I was very dissatisfied. read more

I'm a little in love with the gf options and wonderful drinks. For me Olympic Club is the highlight of my trips to Portland. I've never had gluten contamination problems with their food, the ambience of the rehabbed bar is quaint, and they often have live music from up and coming artists. Always had good service too. read more

It was okay but much more expensive that I think an old bar in downtown Centralia should be. This isn't Seattle and within walking distance to the Seahawks Game! Okay, with that said; I went there with my buddy to have a burger and beer on our bike ride. They do have bike parking right in front on the street. We each had a couple beers and a burger. With a tip it came to $25 each! The burger was good, but they didn't even have Bud Light on tap. Only their own home brew was on tap from the sounds of it. I gave it a three star only because the burger was decent. The waiter came by what seemed like every 30 seconds and would interrupt our conversation to ask if we needed anything. It was like he got paid on commision or something. It was the most annoying wait person I have had in years! That, with no Draft Bud and the high prices I will not be going back. Too many other places that have working man's prices and decent beer on tap. read more

Fall from Grace -- I've been going to the Olympic club for 8 years now, and I'm sad to say the restaurant has really slipped in the past 2 years or so. The portion sizes are a fraction of what they were and the prices have gone up. The turn around time from ordering my food to having it placed on the table has consistently taken 45 to 65 minutes my last four visits. They've changed their menu here and there (no more stuffed hamburgers for example) because, I was told: The cooks didn't like making that one". I wonder if the Olympic Club now favors it's employees over it's patrons. One last note, there has always been a window cut into the men's bathroom, presumably so that the patrons may see the old fashions 6 foot tall urinals and steam fittings which were original to the hotel/brothel that once occupied the space. I first thought it was quirky, but now I wonder if anyone would ever deem a public view of women urinating as acceptable in any way. Time to close the curtains on that particular free show and freshen the bathroom! read more

This is a one of a kind place, there's no other building like it. It's nostalgic and gives you an antique old time saloon feel. A great bar and restaurant with quality food and service. With fun and engaging games like pool and a shuffle board. It allows minors in the game hall until 7. Wonderfull place that keeps you coming back for more. read more

Going to this place is great for cheap dates! I always go to movies with my boyfriend. He likes it because we can watch a movie, have pizza brought to us, and curl up together on a comfy couch. The design of the building, since it is in an older city, is very neat. The restaurant part is good but not the best I've had. It is still a good place to go out with friends and chill for it is not too expensive. Overall I've only had good experiences there. read more

Having worked in a restaurant before I know that you treat all customers with respect. That did not happen as soon as we walked in the door. There was 12 of us and we all agreed that we would split up to make it easier for the wait staff. They still made it difficult to accommodate us. So we all left. This is the last time I'll ever try to come here. We arrived at 10:55 and they refused to serve us breakfast. They serve breakfast till 11. The service here always sucks, and they're really mean. My daughter wanted French toast....really? You can't make French toast for a 4 year old 5 minutes before you have it posted that you're open for breakfast? Unfortunately this is symptomatic of all mcmenamins now. They are sacrificing quality and service for profit. Bad move mcmenamins...you lost a longtime repeat customer that is going to tell all his friends never to patronize another mcmenamins again. read more

My husband, our daughter, her boyfriend and I stopped on our way back to Seattle on January 6th to have a drink and also to check out the Hotel. We were not able to sit in the main area because it was Saturday evening about 8:30 pm and busy, so we continued back to the bar area that was closest to the walkway leading to the theater. We sat down & in usual form anticipated a staff member to take our drink order. We had to stop a waitress to ask to place a drink order and possibly order a snack item. What we encountered was a very rude, uninterested waitress. My husband asked about the beers on tap and she could have cared less. The four of us were the only ones sitting in the room adjacent to the small bar area with a few customer's. She took our drink order and never once asked us if we were interested in anything else. We were at the McMenamins Hotel in McMinnville Oregon in December and the staff was amazing, helpful and kind which has been our experience. After our drink my husband asked the male bartender for our tab to close out. The bartender had spoken briefly with our daughter and boyfriend who had visited his home country last year while teaching in Spain. He let us know that he was very excited because he would be traveling back home in a few days to visit family. We wished him well and thanked him for his kindness. My husband made mention to him of how disappointed we were with our experience and that had it not been for his kindness and conversation, our visit would have been a complete disaster. read more
