Also I hear the negative reviews- things happen. I'd note that they had 15+ walk ins in the hour I was in there. People didn't necessarily seem as though they were asking but rather expecting availability. It's on us as customers to an extent to set appointments to avoid many of the time issues listed here. Also some people mentioned cuticle issues and I went in with raw cuticles from my work. They were very sensitive to them and sets cause temporary discomfort. I don't usually write bad reviews out of spite but only consider it when it would really help others. Great news is that the finished product looks great for the scrutinizing eye. Bad news is they hurt you and your wallet. I probably winced or exclaimed in pain close to 10 times- whether it was the barbaric process of removing old acrylic nails with the thick plastic of a nail tip, the hot stones that seared my shins or sanding with the Dremel on my cuticles. One of my nails was ripped to the middle of my nail bed and stings to the touch with everything I do. When my teenage daughter chose a nail polish they swapped out for another color without considering to tell her or ask for her substitute or backup. Surely they hoped she wouldn't notice. When she did and sweetly complied with the new color, the technician working on me blamed my daughter "she was confused" she said. Lastly they are At least 25-30% more than ANY salon around. $1.25 charge for credit cards, $5 for gel polish removal, $15 gel on top of pedi fee...it was $190 for 1 pedi, 1 acrylic set and 1 gel polish. I went in for a Pedicure, which is a big luxury for me. (Only the second one in my entire life and I'm in my 60's.) Everything seemed fine, but as my tech started to paint my toes with my favorite polish, which I supplied, I noticed what looked like little pieces of nail or skin on the end of my toenails, and I actually reached down to pick it off. I get home later and notice the tips and tops of my right toenails were rough and appear to have sand painted into the polish. It hit me... the tech didn't rinse the scrub completely off after she exfoliated me. Not only do I have sandpaper toenails on my right foot, she contaminated my bottle of polish with the little exfoliating beads. The polish color is discontinued and now I have to throw my only bottle away. Are her eyes that bad that she couldn't see the beads still on my foot, twelve inches from her face? If so, she should not be doing nails. And I gave her a big tip not realizing what she had done until I got home! I will not be back and do not recommend going there. read more

Sometimes things go wrong, I get it. But I had a terrible experience, and reached out to the owner. I asked for a refund and here's why. 1) made an appointment for 3:15 arriving on time, waited over 15 minutes before they got started, that wasn't a big deal. I did, however, let the technician Helen know I needed to leave by 4:30. She said OK. 2) I showed her the shape I wanted. Square/ wide and short. (See photo). When she started shaping the new acrylic, she was making them skinnier and oval. I asked her during to please leave wide/square. She nodded and kept filing down the sides making them narrow. 3) She stopped for a personal call and chatted for a while, until getting anxious about time, I whispered "please?" She got off the phone. 4) When she used the Dremel tool, she ran it over my cuticles MANY times. I jerked my hand back once and asked her to please be careful, it hurt. She nodded and did it several more times. I was actually getting angry at this point. And very anxious about the time. She also used the tool so long in the same places it was burning under the nail. I told her it was too hot, it hurt. She really didn't seem to care about me or the discomfort. 4) Finally she was done and asked that I wash my hands. It was 4:27. I had to go, I told her the time and that I had to go, I'd put polish on at home. She said she could do color very quick. She was not quick. At 4:37 she finished the nail polish, and hadn't started on the clear. I told her I'd do at home and had to go. It was now 4:44 when I was able to pay. I was irritated, frustrated and terribly disappointed. Neither she nor the owner cared at all. I paid and left, late to my next appointment. Later my fingers still hurt, terribly. I looked and noticed my several of my cuticles were bleeding. I'd had enough. I contacted the owner through CASH APP and requested a refund. She declined. I requested a second time, again including the notes/ reason and she declined. I gave her many chances to do the right thing. Either refund or offer my a complimentary next service. But she only declined again. So here I am. Done with them and leaving this review. I had other services there previously and was pleased. Sometimes it's not how well people do that counts, but how they handle it when a problem occurs. I do not recommend. read more

My daughter is 11 yo and went for a pedicure with other little girls for a birthday party. The person giving her a pedicure laughed and in another language said something to her coworkers. Then two coworkers came over and looked at my daughters feet and the three adults laughed, spoke something, and all looked at my daughters feet. My daughter felt embarrassed and ashamed as she observed the workers behavior and experienced them being mean to her. We obviously will not be going back as they are unprofessional, rude and undeserving of more business. This was not a fun experience for me and my daughter. We made an appointment and showed up about 10 minutes early to pick nail colors. The ladies who gave us colors to choose from were not very friendly. One woman came over to my daughter and asked her what color she wanted (about 45 seconds after we were handed the colors). My daughter let her know she wasn't quite sure yet and the lady disappeared. We looked over to see her starting a pedicure on a woman who walked in and did not have an appointment. I think she could have been a little more patient, especially since we had an appointment that we were a little early for. My daughter got started almost 10 minutes after I did because she had to wait for another woman to finish up. My daughter's full set turned out cute. I chose gel nails and they were done poorly. They started peeling and chipping the next day. The manicure was not done well either. My cuticles looked like nothing had been done and the massage last about 30 seconds per hand. I know these places are all about speed and getting things done, but we felt like no care was taken. As we left and I was about to pay, the young lady started to add our total on a calculator. She put 30 for mine initially and then yelled back to the woman who did my nails. That woman yelled back in return and then switched the price to 40 without any explanation. I got my nails done on a Sunday with an appointment, and I waited over an hour before anyone even touched my nails. They don't use liners in their tubs and when I asked about this I got some super bullshit response about how places who use liners are dirtier. She then said she had liners, if I wanted one. After nearly 3 hours from when I walked in the door, I left with a decent dip manicure. With all the other nail salon options in Gig Harbor, I won't be returning to Olympic. read more

I have been going to Olympic Nail and Spa for several years and have always been delighted with their pedicures. But it has been recently bought and the service and atmosphere has declined precipitously. They no longer provide access to an online scheduling system, are unfriendly and seem completely indifferent to their customers. The last time I was there I was virtually the only customer in the entire place. One wonders what is going on since any reasonable owner/manager would be appalled. So the pedicure was wonderful we got the deluxe and it was worth it. Super disappointed in my manicure fill though. Nails are so short.. as long as my real nails. She asked if I wanted the same shape as last time which was oval, but when I said oval she said no they are round so they are much chunkier. She cut my cuticles and made them bleed and used her hand peice so hard it hit my real nail beds and I could see them brusing up underneath. Then she stopped doing my nails and did this mans while I sat there waiting even though I had an appointment. Then wanted kisses on my nails and one is litterally double the size. Got my dip mani here two weeks ago. Two nails chipped on day 5, but my husband was out of town and I couldn't come in to get them fixed because I was home with my young kids and no childcare. I came in at the two week mark after having bandaged my fingers to prevent breakage to get them fixed, and an extremely rude woman up front said that she was going to charge me $20, $10 per nail (which is double as a dip mani is $50) to fix their error. Dip should last at least 3 weeks. She was incredibly rude and tried to push the damage off on me, as if anyone who gets their nails done would ever purposely ruin their own nails. The lady doing my nails seemed incredibly put out by having to do my nails, hardly spoke to me at all and when I attempted to show her a picture of what I wanted she said "yeah ok later later." I also gel polish is thick and lumpy and already lifting after only a few days and I have a cut on my thumb that's becoming increasingly painful, as it's right under the nail where she nicked me with cuticle clippers. Friendly service with good value. Today was my first time here, they had three pedicure options available: $30, $40, or $50 and all three looked to be a pretty good deal. I chose the $40 pedicure which included a scrub, cool gel and hot stone massage. The application of a lotion at the end was good also with some massage added in, and it was strong which I personally prefer. I added nail art to my big toes which was expertly executed and turned out beautifully. I also added on the simple $10 manicure just to shape and clean up my nails a bit, I did not have my fingers polished. I probably could have gone without the manicure and clipped my nails and cuticles at home, but the overall experience here today was pretty good. My mother joined me as well for a gel pedicure and appreciated the time and attention given to a good scrubbing and the sanitary nature of their service. There was a mix up regarding the color she had chosen (#23, bright red) and the color the nail tech applied (#22, mint green). My ever-gracious mother said it was no problem, and really the color turned out fine for what her style of dress is anyway, just a reminder to double check. The music selection seemed slightly out of place for the rest of the relaxing atmosphere, but maybe that's just me getting picky. read more

so so bad. im 17 and i get long nails with designs. i always make sure the artist is comfortable with doing the set beforehand bc i understand they can be harder to do. she agreed she could do it. my scheduled set removal was gel x and she tried to peel them off with cutical cutters before putting acetone on them making it hurt so so bad bc i was bleeding. piled on the acrylic so so thick, she then filed with a hand file for 2 hours and when my friend and i asked her to be gentle she said no or ignored us and did it harder. i was bleeding. the shape i asked was square and it looked like duck and it was the thickest acrylic ive ever had. it was bumpy and not even although she hand filed my skin and nails raw for 2 hours. she was so rough and rude, when it came for the design she had the owner do it and the owner proceeded to say she couldn't do the design bc my nails are to long and my hands are cold so i can't do any design bc the polish will run. so i had to pick a solid color which she said was ugly so i had to change it 3 different times and honestly they still look so so ugly and i paid $100 and got kinda an attitude from the owner when i don't tip. i was there for 4 hours in total. read more

Nice, clean and quite! The girls are all very nice and they dona great job. I usually call 10 minutes before I come in and they are always ready to start on my pedi and mani. I've been there the last 6 months and they are always gentle and attentive. On one occasion, I didn't like the color I chose on my toe nails. The owner was so sweet, she repainted them free of charge. Which was very unusual but she said she didn't mind since she didn't have a client. I've not had one incident where my gel peeled or fallen off in one piece from my finger nails. This happened at the two previous nail salons. I know it sounds weird but from my understanding it was not prep property. Bottom line, I'm quite happy with this place. read more

My partner and I got the spa pedicure and it was wonderful! The massage chairs were the best we've ever sat in. The chairs could slide closer or further from the whirlpool, and the massage settings were phenomenal. The pedicure itself was blissful. The technicians were very attentive.
