i came here regularly last year for brunch following a long saturday morning run with friends at nearby shoreline lake. we loved the outdoor seating and beergarden feel...and yes, you can order beer in the morning here! my go to dish is always either the feta or mushroom menemen ($14.95), both of which consist of scrambled eggs, baked tomato, bell pepper, onion and either feta cheese or mushrooms on a cast iron plate. i love both the smell and taste of this turkish breakfast plate since it is so different from a my usual egg dishes for breakfast. the cast iron keeps everything warm for a while. this usually comes with a piece of turkish pita bread, dense and delicious on its own, or used to dip into the juices from the menemen. there is always plentiful seating outside, even for groups as large as 20-25 (which is what my group usually is!) the line can be a little long at times, but it does move quite efficiently...you get a number, sit down and the waiter brings you the order. there is only 1 restroom inside, which sometimes results in a longer wait, esp when the restaurant is busy. since castro st is still closed, you will need to park a couple blocks away, but as long as you don't mind the short walk, there is always tons of parking within 2-3 blocks of the cafe. solid place for breakfast, lunch dinner or happy hour! read more

Last Saturday I came here for the second time and it was the proof/reaffirmation that it is a good place to eat. (breakfast, lunch, or dinner). The staff is friendly and always looking if you need something, and ready to clean/disinfect the areas that are vacated to prepare them for the next people. I have became a regular customer here. The location is very good. It's just beside the Mountain View Light Rail Station, after you have the beer , you can take the light rail or CalTrain home if you have limited budget for Uber or Lyft. Food here is good and you can bring your growler to fill up with the draft beer. 64oz. is about $28 plus tax. Although, it is about $8 higher than the Lazy K9 Beer Club (Subscription: $35/quarter). After I've gone through the Lazy beer club poor service, I would rather paying the additional $8 here. Highly recommend this place. read more

I liked eating it with the simple, soft bread that had a slight hint of salt. The Turkish tea was a little bitter than the green tea I usually drink in the morning, but it was sufficient to fill my need for tea. I tried my friend's Spanakopita, and I liked the cheese and spinach filling a lot, I decided to get one to take home. But it was way oily when I heated it up at home. I was about to give this place five stars, but the wait for my pastries was ridiculous. The guy behind the counter rang me up for a baklava, chocolate croissant, and a spanakota. I don't understand why he didn't bag them right away. I had to wait until rang up three or four people behind me. When the line was gone, he still didn't bag them. I knew he could see me. What the heck?!? After he bagged them, I still had to wait, until I realized too late that he put them in the oven to warm up. I told him twice I wanted my pastries to go. Why heat them up? They'd bring one table a meal then another table a meal leaving both tables with 1/2 of the food still missing. They also were awful at refilling their water. Olympus has evolved with the Covid times as well--what used to be a Turkish cafe and bakery is now also a German-style beer garden! My pick from the original Olympus menu was the combo appetizer plate, which came with four ramekins containing hummus, baba ghanoush, black olives, and two dolmas, along with two rounds of sliced pita bread. The hummus and baba ghanoush were on the thin, watery side, but the soft, chewy pita bread made for a nice vessel for the dips. I also tried the gyro plate, which came with slices of gyro, rice, and salad, along with salad dressing, tzatziki, and more hummus. This plate came with pita as well, and I also asked for a round of Turkish bread, which had hand-formed dimples and was pleasantly thick and chewy! A great place for breakfast! This place has been one of our favorites to grab breakfast after shopping at the Mountain View Farmer's market! Expect some wait time on weekends, it does get pretty busy. Last time we were there we got a Veggie Crepe and Menemen with egg whites. The crepe was perfectly made, stuffed with avocado, mushroom, onion, tomatoes, pepper and cheese and topped with more avocado slices. Served with a side of fresh salad and hash brown, it was a complete breakfast platter. The egg preparation was good too, scrambled egg whited with baked tomatoes, onion and pepper. The tomatoes made it pretty runny, but tasted good with a side of bread. We finished our breakfast with Turkish coffee and baklava. Great place for some good food around Castro street. Service is pretty slow when they are running at full capacity but they try serve everybody well. read more

I personally like their hot wine. They have a lot of outdoor seating with long benches. They are right opposite the Mountain View Caltrain station in case you are taking the train.
