May was super patient with the group I went in with and she gave her recommendations and helped out a friend that was extremely indecisive! The taste of the food was amazing and the pricing is great. I would highly recommend coming into this location since Maggie gave out outstanding service to the entire group. Nick the Greek had a BOGO deal on Uber Eats, so I ordered two falafel wraps with hummus, and my friend got two Mediterranean bowls with chicken from the Castro location for pick-up. While in the store, we decided to split the Dubai Chocolate froyo. Falafel wrap (4.5/5): I enjoyed this! The falafel was flavorful and not dry at all. Pretty big portion size. The hummus was a great add-on - wish this didn't cost extra. The Mediterranean bowl was huge! My friend enjoyed hers and gave it a 5/5. Dubai Chocolate froyo (3/5): This looked great but taste wise, it was just ok. The chocolate and pistachio cream were tasty but the yogurt was a bit sour, like the yogurt used in parfait. Thought it would have tasted better if it was sweetened yogurt or ice cream instead. Little pricey (~$10) so wouldn't get again Overall, although I wasn't a fan of the Dubai Chocolate froyo, I would come back to Nick the Greek for the wraps/bowls. I've had several of the scrumptious dishes offered at Nick the Greek, and each has been absolutely perfect. It's 103 degrees outside now, and I really wanted a Frozen Yogurt with Honey and Baklava today. So I ordered a half-portion of Nick's Fries with beef/lamb and the frozen yogurt, for dessert. I've had their frozen yogurt before, but Stephanie made it so delectable in its presentation, it could have been photographed, before being consumed. She put honey on the bottom, filling the container with a generous, heaping portion of yogurt and baklava carefully placed, midway down. I had to stop and admire it, telling her that out of 10 stars, her creation was worth 100. It was the BEST I've ever had! I'm not used to this heat, and Nick the Greek's frozen yogurt was an ideal summer weather choice. I'm downtown on Castro Street often; Nick's bowls and gyro's are always superb. With summer already here, next I want to try the cold salads, as they sound really good, filling and as with literally everything on their menu: very well priced. The location on Castro and the interior of Nick's, and the upbeat and ethnic music, feels like a holiday in Greece. I'd highly recommend this location, and if you want a *spectacular* treat, get a Frozen Yogurt, made extraordinarily special by Stephanie! read more

I'm a fan of Nick the Greek, and this was my first time at the MV location. Free street parking was not a problem on a Sunday evening (though there's also a parking lot down the block on West Dana Street). An inviting atmosphere inside and outside of the restaurant, some live music on Castro Street, decorative lighting, steady flow of people, but not too crowded. Efficient service at the counter. Got the beef/lamb gyro without tzatziki, and it was perfect. Warm grilled pita stuffed with yummy ingredients, wrapped nicely for takeout so that the toppings don't fall out while eating it. Everything was fresh and flavorful, I savored every last bite. Just what I needed after a long run. Nick the Greek has proven once again to be reliable in their product. read more

2/21/25 Nick the Greek 298 Castro St Mountain View, CA 94041 I went there for a late lunch on a Friday at 2:30 pm. I ordered a Beef/Lamb Gyro from the menu board at the order counter and paid cash. I gave my name and my gyro was brought to my table shortly. The interior is a clean bench and table setup with contemporary diner furniture. There is a large city free parking structure behind the restaurant. My gyro was hefty with the meat slices, french fries, tomato, red onion and tzatziki sauce wrapped with a soft and thick pita. The meat slices and fries were very noticeably salty although the overall flavor was good. I thought it was a good value but it was way too salty for me so no repeat. read more

Located in downtown. We came here after a water polo game. We needed a place that had decent food to feed hungry teen boys, quick service, and could accommodate our large party. Nick's was able to do that for us. The staff even arrange the tables for us! The staff was super friendly and professional. Food arrived very timely. This location just opened in Mountain View! I've had Nick the Greek from multiple locations, but this is walking distance from where I live, so I decided to check this one out for the Grand Opening. They were giving lunch on the house for the event, so long line right off-the-bat, and I waited about 1-hour to order. Some seating is available inside, and inside it is spacious and has a warm vibe. I ordered a Chicken Gyro Pita with a side of Greek Fries, and they both tasted great! It tasted better than other locations I've been to, but mainly because I do takeout and this one being so close meant the food was fresher. It is definitely going to keep me full for the whole day. A great addition to DTMV, Nick the Greek has my favorite beef/lamb gyro. The meats are extra juicy, veggies are fresh and crisp, and everything combined is so flavorful and glorious. So excited for Nick the Greek to come to Mountain View! They're in a soft opening period now, open from 11 am - 7 pm until the grand opening on January 14th. The food is great already, consistent with their other locations, and service was exceptionally friendly and helpful! Indoor seating looks a little limited, and some of the tables are wobbly, maybe due to the flooring situation in the older building they renovated. Hopefully they can work that out soon! I got the pork souvlaki plate and it was awesome, and I love that it comes with a side salad and pitas. I did feel like the fries that also come with it were a little soggy / greasy: probably only once cooked (like In-n-out, if you know). I usually DoorDash my lamb gyro bowl from this Nick the Greek location and it's always consistently good- which is why I was so surprised and disappointed with my most recent order. This time, something was definitely off. I'm not sure if there was a new chef or if I just had bad luck and ended up with the last of the lamb meat, but the quality was nothing like what I've come to expect. Instead of the usual thin, well-sliced pieces of lamb, I received several large, chunky, and uneven cuts--some so big they weren't even bite-sized. A few looked like scraps or leftovers just tossed into the bowl, and overall it looked pretty unappetizing. Since I had it delivered, I didn't have the option to return or exchange it. I ended up eating around the meat because it was just too tough and awkwardly cut to enjoy. To be clear, I've never had this issue with any Nick the Greek before, and I still really like this location. I'm hoping this was just a one-time fluke. But if it happens again, I may have to reconsider ordering from this location in the future. read more

Steer clear if you have allergies or intolerance. I initially thought the team did an awesome job of answering questions about the menu and being honest when they didn't know. But then when I got home, my dairy allergy bowl had both rice(which they said had milk) and yogurt on it. This restaurant just isn't set up to handle people with allergies or intolerances. Also, there's no changing table in the bathroom, so not a good lunch spot for new parents either. read more

As others have said, the food at this location was just a bit better than the others, although all of them are very good. The chicken souvlaki I had was cooked perfectly and it's easy to overcook. Our first visit will be our last. The bare walls and loud music make conversation difficult. The food was OK, but my gluten-sensitive spouse was dismayed to find that there is flour in the beef/lamb gyro. Portion sizes on Fresh Cut Fries were generous, but they arrived cold at our table and the ketchup dispenser was empty. Tabletops were sticky. Perhaps we'll order takeout from Nick's, but we'll never eat inside again. (Unlike many other Castro Street restaurants their only outside seating is a pair of 2-person tables.) read more
