Great spot for fast, flavorful Greek street food right in downtown Mountain View! The portions are generous, the gyros and Mediterranean bowls are tasty and fresh, and the staff are friendly and efficient. I especially loved the lamb gyro and falafel wrap.

Nick the Greek had a BOGO deal on Uber Eats, so I ordered two falafel wraps with hummus, and my friend got two Mediterranean bowls with chicken from the Castro location for pick-up. While in the store, we decided to split the Dubai Chocolate froyo. Falafel wrap (4.5/5): I enjoyed this! The falafel was flavorful and not dry at all. Pretty big portion size. The hummus was a great add-on - wish this didn't cost extra. The Mediterranean bowl was huge! My friend enjoyed hers and gave it a 5/5. Dubai Chocolate froyo (3/5): This looked great but taste wise, it was just ok. The chocolate and pistachio cream were tasty but the yogurt was a bit sour, like the yogurt used in parfait. Thought it would have tasted better if it was sweetened yogurt or ice cream instead. Little pricey (~$10) so wouldn't get again Overall, although I wasn't a fan of the Dubai Chocolate froyo, I would come back to Nick the Greek for the wraps/bowls. The entrees had good value, especially with the Uber Eats deal.

I'm a fan of Nick the Greek, and this was my first time at the MV location. Free street parking was not a problem on a Sunday evening (though there's also a parking lot down the block on West Dana Street). An inviting atmosphere inside and outside of the restaurant, some live music on Castro Street, decorative lighting, steady flow of people, but not too crowded. Efficient service at the counter. Got the beef/lamb gyro without tzatziki, and it was perfect. Warm grilled pita stuffed with yummy ingredients, wrapped nicely for takeout so that the toppings don't fall out while eating it. Everything was fresh and flavorful, I savored every last bite. Just what I needed after a long run. Nick the Greek has proven once again to be reliable in their product.

2/21/25 Nick the Greek 298 Castro St Mountain View, CA 94041 I went there for a late lunch on a Friday at 2:30 pm. I ordered a Beef/Lamb Gyro from the menu board at the order counter and paid cash. I gave my name and my gyro was brought to my table shortly. The interior is a clean bench and table setup with contemporary diner furniture. There is a large city free parking structure behind the restaurant. My gyro was hefty with the meat slices, french fries, tomato, red onion and tzatziki sauce wrapped with a soft and thick pita. The meat slices and fries were very noticeably salty although the overall flavor was good. I thought it was a good value but it was way too salty for me so no repeat.

Can we say OPA!! Start kicking up your feet and dancing to some Greek music. Seriously, we have been waiting for this Greek fast food venue now for well over 3 years or more in Mountain View and whew finally!! WE went there the other night and it was great. I would say the one in San Carlos and Mountain View, the peninsula stores are one of my favorites!! If you are looking for some good, wholesome Greek flavors, giving you the taste of Greece, then you need to just get on over to downtown Mountain View on Castro Street. Amongst my favorites are the salads and the plates that will include salad and fries and some pita. As they say in Greece" Efcharistó kai éla xaná

A great addition to DTMV, Nick the Greek has my favorite beef/lamb gyro. The meats are extra juicy, veggies are fresh and crisp, and everything combined is so flavorful and glorious. Not to mention, the value can't be beat. I come here at least once a month. The service is friendly and efficient. The food comes out quickly and they bring it out to your table if you're eating for-here. Ambiance is pretty clean, spacious, and family-friendly. There's ample seating for small-medium parties.

So excited for Nick the Greek to come to Mountain View! They're in a soft opening period now, open from 11 am - 7 pm until the grand opening on January 14th. The food is great already, consistent with their other locations, and service was exceptionally friendly and helpful! Indoor seating looks a little limited, and some of the tables are wobbly, maybe due to the flooring situation in the older building they renovated. Hopefully they can work that out soon! I got the pork souvlaki plate and it was awesome, and I love that it comes with a side salad and pitas. I did feel like the fries that also come with it were a little soggy / greasy: probably only once cooked (like In-n-out, if you know). They were still hot and fresh and well salted, but they could be better. They also have a selection of bottled greek soft drinks which were good too.

Lamb gyro bowl

I usually DoorDash my lamb gyro bowl from this Nick the Greek location and it's always consistently good- which is why I was so surprised and disappointed with my most recent order. This time, something was definitely off. I'm not sure if there was a new chef or if I just had bad luck and ended up with the last of the lamb meat, but the quality was nothing like what I've come to expect. Instead of the usual thin, well-sliced pieces of lamb, I received several large, chunky, and uneven cuts--some so big they weren't even bite-sized. A few looked like scraps or leftovers just tossed into the bowl, and overall it looked pretty unappetizing. Since I had it delivered, I didn't have the option to return or exchange it. I ended up eating around the meat because it was just too tough and awkwardly cut to enjoy. To be clear, I've never had this issue with any Nick the Greek before, and I still really like this location. I'm hoping this was just a one-time fluke. But if it happens again, I may have to reconsider ordering from this location in the future.

We ordered two lamb Gyros from the uber eats app, but one get one free!! We love that this location has partnered up with a delivery service. The food was delicious and hefty. It's a chill location to visit.Service wise they tend to be quick and friendly.

Always a good experience although If asked for extra sauce and didn't receive it. Not certain if that's Doordash delivery persons fault.

Servers were extremely welcoming and patient with us. Food was delicious! The hummus sampler was great! Our favorite was the one on the right, tasted very garlicky! The beef kabob was super juicy and came out hot, loved the flavor and the soft texture. Chicken was also so juicy and flavorful. The salad that came with the platter had a vinegary taste which paired well with the meats and the rice. Definitely would come back again give the high quality food and service. There is a large parking lot in front that is shared with other businesses in that shopping center. We were warmly greeted when we walked in and were shown to a lovely table. It's got a very classy vibe inside with beautiful artificial floral trees and artwork on the walls. The menu has a nice variety of food. We decided to try the Kashke Bademjan, for our appetizer. This is an eggplant puree with caramelized onions, tahini sauce and mint. It is served warm with fresh pita bread. For our mains we ordered a Greek salad to share, the filet mignon kabob plate and the filet mignon & chicken combination plate. Our appetizer came out first. The Kashke Bademjan arrived warm with piping hot pita bread. There was also a small tray of hummus on the platter. The Kashke Bademjan had such a wonderful flavor. It was warm and comforting. I highly recommend trying this. The hummus was nice. The bread was fresh and hot...so delicious with both dips. Our salad and entrees came out next. The food was served on these circular large metal platters. I couldn't believe how big the portions were and how beautifully the dishes were presented. The Greek salad was also huge. The filet mignon kabobs were delicious, moist and so flavorful. I chose the whir me for the chicken and it was perfectly moist and bursting with flavor. Both my husband and I enjoyed it. Each plate came with basmati saffron rice with a grilled tomato and salad. The rice was fluffy, moist and flavorful. Very fresh and hot. The salad was a nice touch and the grilled tomato was so juicy. There was so much food that we didn't even touch the Greek salad. We ended up with a lot of leftovers, which we didn't mind. I could tell this was a family run business. So much love and detail was put in to each item we ordered. We had excellent customer service. Towards the end of our meal, the owner (the matriarch of the family) came by to ask how are food was. She was so sweet and hospitable. I really loved that. I noticed she went to every single table and checked on everyone. We will definitely be returning, especially for the Kashke Bademjan. I also look forward to trying their other Persian specialties.
