This place was located inside a food truck area! There is an undercover area with tables, bathrooms, and a few parking spots with decent parking nearby as well. First, I wanted to note that while the menu shows pictures of fries, the fries are actually jojos! They are yummy but just know they do not serve traditional fries. I got the beef arabi and would rate it 4/5! The meat and jojos were pretty good! I would prefer a little more tzatziki or garlic sauce inside of the wrap but overall yummy! It was more than enough for lunch and I ended up reheating it for a full lunch the next day too. The jojos weren't as good reheated but the wrap was still yummy. The lamb over fries was 4.5/5! The sauces were good, as well as the jojos. The meat was solid but felt like it was a little light for the price. Omar's is a bit pricy but the food is good! read more

Surprised (and not in the best way). We have been a fan of Omar's for years. We love him, we love his food. However, we've noticed lately there's been a slight change. Came here last week and there was an older slender gentleman. I ordered and paid, he must despise credit cards. The minute I paid he started complaining in another language. Very obviously upset at my payment. He barked "15 minutes!" And went to make the grub without another word to me. When it was ready I walked over, he didn't even look at me, just dropped the bag and walked off. I got home and there was no green sauce for the arabi, no pita for the humus and no fries for the arabi side (I think this was a misunderstanding). This food car is located on MLK in NE Portland. The customer service was friendly and helpful. There was a nice little covered area to eat your food in, and I noticed there was heating in it too. The beef wrap was really good, but I wish it would've had a little more flavor. I give it a nine out of 10. The beef over fries was pretty good too. The fries were seasoned and there was a cream sauce on it. That was really good. I give it a 9.5 out of 10. I ordered some JoJo's too and they were good but I wish they would've been seasoned a little bit more 8.5 out of 10. Overall, I had a good experience and will go back here again to try the lamb wrap. Delicious gyros that hit the spot after a morning hike! This food truck pod has so many options but Omar's Gyro was my pick of the day. I ordered the big Lamb Gyro and it was plenty of food. This food cart is located within Park the Carts, which provides shaded seating and a small bathroom. On a sunny Sunday, the park was busy but not overwhelmingly so - people moved in and out. The spot was clean and well maintained. Also, the parking in the small lot is reserved for delivery only (15 min), but fortunately there is plenty of parking around the neighborhood! read more

I ordered #26, the Chicken over salad dish. The chicken meat is full of cartilage. This is the lowest quality chicken I've seen anywhere. I posted a picture of what I could remove before eating that. They were supposed to open at 11:00. They were closed at 11:05, so I decided to drive to the location they have on Alberta St. I double checked online to make sure they were open. When I got there, they were closed due to some construction work on the property. I went back to the MLK location hoping they'd be open by now. They were not. They opened at 11:18 while I was driving away. I parked again, I ordered the first order of the day. It took 16 minutes to get two orders of chicken over salad with fries. I love these guys! Please don't leave without getting some baklava because it's my favorite in town! I would recommend their tri-meat plate, lamb salad, lamb gyro and the trimeat wrap. Also, hummus!! I've been coming to these guys since 2020, and remember visiting a few times before they moved here when their son/nephew was smaller and now he's grown and running it on his own sometimes. Rating food first as always. Despite being most likely overlooked due to the surrounding popular spots, I wanted to check out Omar's. I did my classic test for these gyro/schwarma....order chicken shawarma later in the day. I got the works (garlic sauce/hot sauce), and there was no chewy or off putting pieces of chicken, soft wrap with just a little bit of crunch...the red onion and vegetables were fresh. It also came with Jojo's / potato wedges instead of fries which I'm always for being an Oregonian. For the price it was + the quality this would be an automatic recommend for me. Second time here. First time I had just the lamb gyro. It was super good and I knew I wanted to try other items. This time around, i also got the lamb arabi.... Life changing good! Wife had some of mine and we ended up splitting the plate while her food from another cart went untouched. The thing that really caught me off guard were the fries. At first, I thought it was just a filler. Turns out they were super crispy and very well seasoned. Actually tied in very nicely with the rest of the plate. The only very small gripe I have is that it is on the pricey side. Had a great experience at Omar's Gyro last month when we were visiting Portland on vacation. We went for dinner during the massive heat wave, so pretty hot but once it had cooled off a tiny bit. My fiance and I split the falafel plate off the recommendation of a friend and it was such a great choice. The falafel itself was crisp on the outside but so moist on the inside; it was also a cute donut shape, which I hadn't really ever seen before. The rice was super fragrant and the tzatziki sauce was thick and flavorful. Also really loved the hummus here, it had a very prominent sesame flavor, moreso than other hummuses than I've had in the past, but I love sesame so that was great for me. Each entree also comes with a huge pita bread for dipping, which was excellent. The side salad was also super refreshing! The service was so kind. He didn't charge me for the extra pita I asked for AND gave me free homemade Baklava like I cannot give anything less than 5 stars solely based on their kindness!
