I was…read morehonestly BLOWN AWAY by the fresh veggie roll with tofu - so generous with the veg and herbs and the peanut sauce has a great balance of sweet and spicy - if you're looking for something healthy and tasty, look no further. If I lived near here, I would eat here weekly. The coconut shrimp and cream cheese wontons were crisp and delicious, too. The ambiance is simply, spacious and sufficient - if you are in the area, stop by this place, it won't disappoint.

I have always known Portland to be a mecca for food trucks and I have tried a couple and they did not disappoint. It was getting late in the evening and sun was still out and the temps were still on the warm side. There were about 4 other food trucks that were still open and serving food. next time I am in the area I will try the other ones. Firstly parking was a little difficult though I found one right in front of the main entrance. There was a sign that indicated that free parking was available across the street. There were a number of tables arranged in a small courtyard (including an interesting spaceship dining area) and a fire pit which I assume is used duing the colder winter months. Anyways I ordered the beef kebab over rice for $17.99. It took about 10 minutes for my order to appear (which was a to-go order) and I noticed the food was being made fresh in the back. The food in my opinion was quite good and everything tasted really nice. For the price it was a good amount of food however I wished they had thrown in a piece of flat bread for the nice hummus. I will definitely try out the other trucks the next time I am in the area.

The fresh tofu rolls were made up of just lettuce and tofu. So not a memorable meal. It took me most of the morning to get rid of my headache. FYI vegans. After chatting with and asking questions of the owner. the yellow curry and the tofu fresh rolls are the only items on the menu that can be vegan. If you want to eat on site their are several tables to the side of the food cart. The owner was friendly and the food was served quickly.

I mean--they are, technically, I know that, but I could see it. Carbon dioxide, transpiration, chlorophyll--it was all just numbers clicking into place. The woman in the truck smiled at me like she understood. I asked her for water and she handed me an iced Thai Coffee and said, "That's the one that works." I don't know what she meant. I drank it. Everything made to order. Many vegan and gluten-free options. There is even a bar cart in the back end of the pod so you can enjoy a beer, cider or wine along with your food. Lots of picnic tables, many covered, so there is always a place to sit. While The Bite on Belmont is just a small footprint - you can drive right past without seeing it - they really have designed the space to house a lot of food carts, all with their own unique little design. Parking is not the easiest since it's street parking and there are other restaurants and businesses on both sides of the street. But if you have to park a few blocks away, it's with it. So glad that I discovered this pod and have tried a few carts and plan on making my way through them all. Most are open until 8pm. Some carts take off some days so either check their Instagram or be open to try a different cart. They are all good.

It would be a good choice for kids who are picky eaters though and just want some noodles. I've seen the momo and it looks great. People seem to like it a lot too, so I'll order that next time I'm willing to try something new. I've always loved momo, just haven't had it from this particular cart and the last several times I tried a new food cart, it didn't go very well.. But the staff are super nice so I want to support their business if possible. Just a heads up if you have a sensitive stomach or are sensitive to fat content - if you get their chai tea with coconut milk, they don't use the kind meant for drinking like you get from a cafe (the kind of coconut milk in a carton). They use canned coconut milk, like you use for cooking, curries, etc., This does make for a creamier and more coconutty drink, but it overwhelmed the chai flavour and gave me a stomach ache most likely due to the high fat content. I'm just not used to drinking 24g fat in one sitting (believe me if I could, I would!). If I'd known they were using canned coconut milk for the dairy alternative, I don't think I would have ordered it. I'm sure the regular chai tea with dairy milk is delicious though, as what I could get out of the spice flavour seemed tasty. I'll update my review next time.
