My wife and I ate here this morning. We found all the Caucasian people in Milpitas and they were hiding out here. :) Overall the food was pretty good, I had the Omega skillet, I got through about half and gave up and packed it up to go. It was very filling. I only give this place 3 stars though because of the smell. It may be the furniture or the carpet, but the scent brought me back to my good ol' days of working at Golden State Roller Palace for my first job. I guess the smell could be a good thing? read more

Came here for Bfast. I don't know how i feel about this place.. The place isn't nice, the toilet was clogged with god know what.. but the service is really good, the portions are really huge, and it's good on top of it! I ordered 2 eggs and corned beef hash and came with hash browns and toast and it was HUGE! Steaks are good but my fav is a fried chicken dinner. Yummy yummy. Service is terrible! The last time the server tossed the utensils on the table and they slid across at my husband. Never apologized... And never came back to refill our coffee. We had to ask bus staff to assist. I didn't post a review or complain. This morning, it was a holiday morning but not too many people. We were seated and waited a while and just never got service. Tried the soup of the day which wad beef barley it was nasty. TASTED old and sour. Hamburger was ok McDonalds is better. While I tried to eat this mediocre food I can hear the loud man sitting at the cafe coffee i think he was drunk but he sat there disrespecting Latina women and making me loose my appetite. I told the waiter the soup tasted sour but he didnt seem to care. I should not have been charged for the nasty soup since I only had 4 bites bowls was still fool, but I was charged anyways. Never going back. This is not my first time. The first time ordered steak sandwich which was like chewing rubber and very overpriced. My first experience here, and probably my last. I read some other Yelp reviews and decided to try my favorite breakfast/brunch dish, Eggs Benedict. Ok, the Hollandaise sauce is just bad, no lemony notes, strange color and consistency. I think perhaps it is made with chicken broth?? Really not good. I asked for the English muffins to be well toasted, but it came out limp and after a bath in the "Hollandaise" sauce, became a mushy mess. The ham that was on top of the muffin was rather thick and tough! Not at all Canadian bacon or at least tender. I requested the eggs have runny yokes, but the whites firm. Didn't quite accomplish that either. Wish it could have been great, it's not a difficult dish to create...sigh. read more

Food was OK, a little bland. The service was decent. The dishes were not clean though. We had water glasses that had something sticky on (and possibly in) them. The silverware had chunks stuck to them. We didn't notice anything on the dishes, but those came with the food already on them, so who knows what was under the food. The place has a restaurant on one side and a bar on the other. When we first walked in patrons from the bar were arguing. The smokers from the bar were smoking right at the doorway, and cigarette smoke was blowing into the building. Not planning on returning. read more

This is my first time here, and will definitely be the last one. I tried to order the blueberry pancake but was told the blueberries are not fresh -- it's basically butter milk pancake w/ blueberry sauce. So I just ordered the buttermilk pancake. The portion is huge. But the pancakes are at best mediocre. No flavor at all. They are also unusually elastic, which looks creepy. All in all, very bad food. The only reason I didn't give one star is because they told me the blueberry were not fresh beforehand. Don't go there. read more

Best breakfast restaurant in the south bay! Everything appears to be made in-house. I always order the chicken fried steak. But if you order it, come hungry. You get THREE plates with your meal. One plate with a huge portion of hand-breaded steak and gravy, one with 3 eggs and potatoes, and one with bread/pancake... The lady recommends the chicken skillet. I've been to Omega countless times for breakfast and dinner. Have to say that their omelettes are really heavy and delicious, though to me any omelette with cheese is delicious... The hash browns are always cooked to perfection. My coffee mug is always full, and I love their pancakes, too. Dinner menu is very diverse. Depending on the day of the week, the theme changes. I've had chicken with asparagus, and some of the sandwiches. Everything is great, but I do have a preference for omelettes if they're on the menu, any time of day. You can tell this place has its fair share of regulars, and it also has a nice 'lounge' for the 21 and over. Ample parking, and convenient location. Great prices, plus really friendly service. I haven't been to Omega for years, I was actually surprised that it was still open. After we had lunch there, I was even MORE surprised. I went with my mom and my son. I had the hot beef sandwich and a salad with bleu cheese. My mom had the mini shrimp louie salad. My son had the grilled cheese with fruit and a shrimp cocktail. The gravy was not very good on my plate, I didn't finish it. The salad lettuce was freshly washed but not drained very well as it was watery and made the dressing weak. Which was hard to do because the dressing was very sour. My mom said her salad was okay but my son didn't like the grilled cheese. It's kind of hard to mess up grilled cheese.... We won't be going there again and I regret going there this time! read more

Breakfast late Saturday morning. Waited about 10 mins to be seated which was perfectly fine. Very outdated decor but fairly clean. Ordered the Ortega omelette with country potatoes and a pancake. Eggs had an unappetizing "griddle" taste. Slice of cheese on top was rubbery; first time I've not had grated cheese on a omelette. Dish was listed as "Spicy" on the menu but lacked any heat whatsoever. Country potatoes were not seasoned at all - no salt, no pepper, no spices. Just fried up with a little oil. Pancake was good. Wife ordered the Western skillet and hash browns. Veggies undercooked. Four fried eggs laying on top were cooked to her liking. No seasoning at all on hash browns. Kids ordered pancakes and loved them. (1 star) Coffee was good and refills were constant. (1 star) Would not go back. read more

The only reason why it didn't get a 5 star was the hollondaise sauce for the egg's Benedict was not from scratch, and they used chicken boullion, which I can tell because it tasted like it. Other then that VERY Yummy.. Large portions which kept full until way past Lunch time, and I ate at 9am..and walked around the Great Mall, and I am STILL FULL!! After reading Yelp reviews, thought I'd cruise the bavarian missle to omega. They even have two parking spots marked with a little sign that says OMEGA Customers only. Parked my ride there. Ha! I was promptly seated by a friendly person. I ordered the waffle with a side of bacon and a coffee. The waffle was golden brown, and came a generous dollop of soft butter and with the trad. maple syrup plus some boysenberry syrup. The four pieces of bacon were thick, meaty,crispy and tastey. Whenever I go to Ocean Supermarket I always wondered what Omega was. So I hopped on yelp and decided to find out. It had a lot of reviews and only on dollar sign so I decided to give it a try. Me and my boyfriend went here around 1030-11 in the morning and it wasn't that crowded at all. Off time? I don't know, but we were seated right away. This place looked like Flames, which is down the street from this place. After we were seated, we were given water and A LOT of time to look at the menu. It was huge, just like flames, but I was set on getting an omlette. We ordered orange juice which was from a machine, not fresh. And when we were ready to order no one was around to take it. We waited a while, enough to give this place a bad review. When we were finally able to order, I got the popeye omelette with hashbrowns and wheat toast. Boyfriend got the waffle with eggs and bacon. After we were given our food I wanted hot sauce, ketchup and my toast. Our waitress was just talking it up to other customers and didn't come around to helping us. I was very annoyed. I ate half my meal without my toast and without my sauces. The food was okay. The hashbrowns are pretty good. The omelette was tasteless and soggy. Meh. I didn't like it that much. I wouldn't order it again nor go back. My boyfriend REALLY liked his meal. His waffle was pretty good and the eggs and bacon were just normal. He left satisfied and didn't. They were super slow, but nice and polite. I wouldn't go back because of the service and food. The prices weren't all that "cheap" either. I could have gotten a better meal at Bill's. So disappointed. Ordered a mushroom cheese burger to go. Its been very good in the past. Not today. Everything was mush!! Some reason it was a soaked in what looked like broth. We love this spot! We are Milpitas natives and really like to support local businesses. We have been coming for a long time. We love the food. It is tasty, fresh, always hot, and they give huge portions. The coffee is also a perfect pairing for the delicious breakfast. We also like that everyone who works at the restaurant is friendly (for the most part....Lunch rush will get you!) and very humble. Finding parking is never a problem. Was craving American diner food and found this on yelp. Atmosphere is that of a typical diner, nothing special. Service here was pretty slow when I came (around 7:45) so it took a while to flag down waiters when my dad and I needed something. Food was disappointing. I ordered the Chicken Valentino while my dad got the polish with eggs. Dad liked his food (hence the 2 stars) but mine was a total mess. The clam chowder that came with my meal was sour; it tasted like it has gon bad or someone just added vinegar in it at the last minute. Adding the crackers in didn't help either. The veggies were over steamed and seemed like they were frozen. All in all, not what I was expecting but it could have been the time. Yes. Go and enjoy a big portion sized breakfast at Omega. If you want details of my visit, go on a read below. For what it is - old school diner food, I give it 5 stars. This is not a gourmet joint, but it does the job well for diner cravings and customer service expectations. Came here with my hubby to try out. Service was great and friendly. We sat in the banquet room as the front room was crowded. We were seated right away and drinks were served. Hot chocolate was sweet with a mountain of whipped cream, which tasted really good - not the cheap Ready whip BS you get at the grocery store. Service and food came fast despite the crowd. Eggs Benedict - eggs nicely poached, hollandaise sauce not overbearing and tasy, Corned beef and hash - unbelievably not greasy and not salty, Hash browns are nicely done, with just the right crispy toasted layer on top, Waffle - thick, fluffy and pleasantly satisfying. Overeasy eggs had a slight layer of diner grease/butter, but the taste and texture with it on top of your toast with the yolk oozing out is so worth it. Sausages - a little dense, but again, not greasy. It's old mom and pop diner food...and I know I'm going to pay for it later. Overall atmosphere - old school (let's say the cash register is still there...it's still shiny and makes the "ding" sounds as the numbers rotate to show your bill total). The music they played - radio station playing Whitney and old school hits, adding on to another layer of way back machine nostalgia. The back banquet room decor was really old school with the nice skylight that brought in some natural sunlight. The chairs matched the bar room that was closed at the time. (Wonder what that bar would be like?). Red pvc smoking lounge chairs that you would see in a 1970's movie. I don't smoke, but it made me want to break out a cigarette and start listening to some old bar lounge tunes and sip on some vodka tonic. If you want a big breakast - this is definitely where the loyal locals come and eat breakfast and I love that! Everyone comes here - senior citizen regulars, families, couples. Omega keeps it real. Portions are plentiful. I need to come back again to try the lunch or dinner menu. They serve lunch all day. I definitely recommend people come and check it out. read more

I wanted to grab a nice hearty breakfast before making the drive back down to So.Cal. And this place sure has huuuge portions. There's nothing too unique about it. They serve normal American style breakfast like bacon, pancakes, sausage, waffles, omelettes, etc. Not a very creative selection of specialties. But that's alright. I got the corned beef hash, while the BF got bacon, eggs, pancakes. They were both about $8-9. We thought it was a little pricey, but when we got our plates, we understood why. The plate is much bigger than your typical Denny's plate. His came with a very generous portion of bacon. And a short stack here is 4 pancakes. Pretty big ones too. I had never had corned beef hash before. I thought it was alright, but it reminded me of dog food. The BF says its really good though, and he's had it a lot. My opinion though is that it's very standard food. Nothing amazing. If you're looking for a good hearty breakfast, this is it. It neither disappointed or amazed me. read more

They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner all day, which I decided was important to point out because the concept is GENIUS (old and done, but still genius). We usually come for breakfast/brunch and so far I haven't been disappointed. The pancakes are huge, fluffy and delicious. The country potatoes are crispy and satisfying. But we've also come in for lunch or early dinner. The sandwiches are satisfying. The Alfredo was good. Especially with the extra parmesan cheese on the side. This was a family favorite growing up. As a child I ordered the 'brown steak' from our favorite waitress Lynn. I think she is back years later and brown steak was the best around: Coulotte Steak. They had the best minestrone but it went downhill after the owners changed hands. Its a typical immigrant family diner with all includive diners worth a try. Looking at most of the previous reviews, the reviewers ate breakfast. I went there recently for dinner which I had gone there for dinner on many previous visits. The Omega Restaurant opened (after it was originally a Burger Pit many, many years ago) as a Greek-style restaurant. The original Omega owners were Greek and the place quickly developed a great reputation for its food (portion size, quality and selection) as well as its service. However, a few owners later the food and service are clearly not the same. I ordered a combination plate of beef, shrimp and chicken. All three tasted very good. The other order at our table was for prime rib which should never have left the kitchen. It was tough, very tough, and tasteless. We reported it to the server who handled the complaint very well and offered us something else. I have no complaints about the server whatsoever. I am a bit uncomfortable that the manager never came to our table to either acknowledge or apologize for the poor cut of prime rib. That may just be an indication of why the meat was allowed to be served in the first place. I guess I better head there for breakfast some time. read more

Three words: Solid Comfort Food. I've tried the corned beef hash because I've never tried it before. Hence, I discovered I'm not much of a corned beef hash fan, but I'm sure if you are one, you'll order it again and again like my coworker. I personally love their omelets. If you like avocado, the California Omelet is SO GOOD. They definitely don't skimp on ingredients. And if you're a fan of pancakes, this is the place for you. Their pancakes are fluffy yet slightly "chewy" with a bite. (Does that make any sense? I don't understand it either, but I just know I can't make it at home.) Just to break it down...DO expect: 1. Nice pancakes. 2. A food coma session. 3. Reasonable prices. DON'T expect: 1. Trendiness. Unless you're into dowdy retro wallpaper, carpet, and booth cushions. Also, there won't be any cool collectible signs, vintage trinkets or records to distract you. Just look at your omelet and you'll be happy. 2. A+ service. Superior, kiss-ass service isn't what makes them reputable. There's a bar here as well as really good food. The food here is really good and there is a ton of it. No matter what it is that you order the amount of food is overwhelming. The must invest in to go boxes. Just keep in mind that the bar is definitely full of locals and what all my Asian friends say about the place is true...All the WP in Milpitas hang out here. Wow, I've lived in Milpitas 24 years and for the first time went to Omega. First off, breakfast, lunch and dinner all day like you'd expect from any good diner. Goodbye Denny's (unless I have the 3AM munchies that is). Connie and I had omlettes - I got the Taco Omlette while she got the one with jalapenos and sausage. Mine was delicious but greasy, but that's to be expected since its stuffed with tons of seasoned ground beef and covered in cheese. Connie's was definitely a lot less greasy even with the sausage, and equally as good. Next time I go to Omega, I've gotta try something like their steak and eggs, or maybe a dinner plate. Decent non-corporate dining. Large dining area and busy kitchen is cranking out very good breakfasts with hugh portions. Add points for not being a corporate establishment! Reminds me of very old school establishment...and even has a NY Diner type menu with everything from A-Z. There's even a lounge off to the side for the rat pack to hang. Had breakfast with friends. My denver omlet was very good (but not excellent). However my friends Chorizo omlet was excellent... great flavor and not greasy. My boyfriend has been coming here for pancakes since he was a child and I'm glad he took me here. I don't eat meat really so sometimes a good breakfast is not easy to find. This place's eggs benedict florentine is amazing. So good. Black bear diner doesn't even compare to this family owned restaurant. We went for dinner one time recently and I had a yummy Greek salad and my man had some sort of bacon burger. Both very good! read more
