Great food and plenty of it. The staff does get a little frazzled when it's packed, which it often is and they are in dire need of table bussers. However the food is plentiful and very, very good. Just passing through on our way to FL. Checked yelp, as we always do, and found this little beauty. Wow, all 4 in our party were delighted. Pancakes that had a hint of cake batter in the taste. The waitress was nice. One very disturbing part of this place was that the silverware we provided with was dirty but perfectly wrapped up in a napkin. On Friday around lunch time I stopped into the omelette cafe on highway 80 in Pooler. It wasn't extremely busy and we had a very kind server. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese sandwich and it took longer than usual to come out. I didn't mind because I've worked in the customer service food industry for years now. Sometimes when it gets as busy as it was a couple of mistakes can be made. For instance when my sandwich finally did make it to my table my bread was toasted instead of soft white bread. I wasn't upset about the sandwich being made wrong or the time it took. I was upset by the disrespect I heard from the kitchen! The only female cooking was upset she had to remake the sandwich with soft bread and she begins to treat the server like trash. Including but not limited to, calling her names in both English and Spanish, she was extremely loud that I could hear it sitting at my table so i know everyone in front of me, especially other workers could hear what was said. AND the server was pregnant. I love the food and prices here. But how these employees treat each other is disgusting. Everyone can see into the kitchen and we can all hear it to. That woman needs to work on her patience if she wants to cook breakfast for people in Pooler or get another slow paced job if she can't keep up with this one. And possibly see a psychiatrist to assist with the lack of emotional control she has, because no one, pregnant Or not, should be talked to in that way! read more

I have always given it a 5 star but unfortunately the last two times I was in the Hinesville Omelette Cafe food was not the best that I know it can be. Last week I ordered a BLT sandwich with fries. WORST BLT I have ever eaten. It had a very thin slice of tomato, could barely see it, same with lettuce and a bunch of crumbled left over bacon it looked like. Yesterday I went in and had the NY Style Angus Beef steak with (asked for) scrambled eggs with melted cheese. I also asked for medium steak. INSTEAD I GOT a well done steak, eggs were not soft scrambled with cheese like they usually have. Eggs were scrambled hard and cheese just cut into pieces and put on top not melted in as they usually do. Sounds like they have added a new cook with the other two that doesn't know how to do a medium steak and SOFT SCRAPPLED EGGS with cheese properly blended and mixed in. read more

I enjoyed eating here - the staff was friendly, nice homey atmosphere, and the food was pretty good. I had a western omelet with grits and toast. The portions are large and it's very affordable. Their omelets are a bit thin and flat, not fluffy like I would usually prefer. What kind of annoyed me were the up charges we were made unaware of...I mean, we didnt mind it, but would have liked to be told about it. My mom asked is she could substitute her grits for hash browns...I didn't see an upcharge for that on the menu and our waitress said that was fine without letting us know of an upcharge. The same thing when my brother asked if he could have french toast instead of pancakes for his meal. I don't recommend getting their french toast by the way, the bread used for theirs is normal sliced bread and feels very airy without much flavor. read more

I love how welcoming and modest this little cafe is. The service was nice and friendly. The food reminds me of just simple, home cooked food. No frills and great taste. My Mama, visiting from Texas, took me and my 10 year old nephew there the other morning!!! We ate here because of the 4 star reviews, but the food wasn't that great. The cheese omelette was disgustingly goopy and they just threw some velveeta cheese that wasn't even melted. If you call yourself omelette cafe, make it real with real cheese, not that processed "cheese". The biscuits and gravy were also not that great. This place is a wonderful stop for breakfast. It's not in the heavy tourist area, so as you are traveling through, you won't be laden with heavy crowds or a lack of parking. They are located in a strip mall with a pretty big location. The service is great - staff was amazingly friendly. We ordered their namesake - 2 omelettes - and were overwhelmed with food! Their portions are huge! But delicious. My husband really enjoyed his philly omelette that was full of tasty cheese and meat. Hash browns were good, cooked well, a little under-seasoned, but good. It was a great and filling breakfast, and paired with the fact the staff was really nice and attentive, I would be back. It's a great stop off 95 and I would definitely come back on my drives up north. It's not my favorite omelette I've ever had, but it was solid and up there. I have eaten here about 30 times in the past year. This is a great breakfast place for me. The prices and food are better than IHOP's or Denny's. The service is always friendly. Most times when I eat there, the price to eat is less than $10.00. The best part is this is a no riff raff place when it comes to the people who eat there. This place is great! Service was quick and attentive. Coffee was good. The servings are huge. I had the spinach and grilled shrimp omelet. There must have been 12-15 medium sized shrimp in there! How sad...an omelet restaurant that has NO IDEA how to cook an omelet...sigh To my 2-egg spinach ham and swiss cheese omelet i added a third egg, mushrooms and onion... I got a flat griddle egg cover instead of a folded or flipped omelet, inside of which were spinach leaves, barely browned ham chunks, large chunks of mushrooms and finely diced onions...both not caramelized and barely heated...AND NO SWISS CHEESE WHATSOEVER!! I brought my family here this morning because we were in the area. I had eaten here two or three times before a couple of years ago and it was incredible. Things have definitely changed. The middle-aged tattooed woman that took our order had an attitude from the beginning, which was already frustrating because my two toddlers both love talking to waiters/waitresses at restaurants but this woman wasn't interested. I can get past that. What I can't get past is that I wasn't really in the mood for breakfast (though my wife and kids were) and asked what they had other than breakfast foods. I was told they didn't have anything other than breakfast...so I ordered the breakfast meal. Fast forward literally 30 seconds and I see that the back of the menu has cheeseburgers on it. At this point our waitress is cleaning off a different table and hasn't even made it to the front to place our order. We asked for my meal to be changed to a cheeseburger. The waitress told us that we could do that, but we would have to pay for both meals. Obviously, we weren't going to do that since it hadn't even been a full minute since we ordered (I would understand if they had started cooking it already). She told us if we had any problems we could direct the to the manager. Assuming that we would have the issue resolved relatively quickly, we directed the situation to the manager. The manager took on the same stance of the waitress and said that they were going to proceed with cooking our order and that we were welcome to pay for that meal and a cheeseburger. Against my better judgement, I told my wife we would just eat what we ordered. When the food arrived, the eggs (which were supposed to be scrambled with cheese) arrived with literally one sprinkle of cheese. I said calmly "ma'am I asked for scrambled with cheese" to which our waitress replied "you can't see that cheese right there?" At that point we decided to leave. I find it unfortunate that the ownership of this restaurant has allowed their staff to become what it is. This was a blatant example of lack of training and customer service. I'll never be back again, and regret that I've ever given this restaurant my money in the past. I would give it 0/5 stars if I could. read more
