First things first , the food truck is visible from a far. I was driving headed to What-A-Burger and I hit a U-Turn. I'm so glad I did. When I arrived in the parking lot , it was packed with some many people I worried it would be a long wait. The music blasted the parking lot and before I knew it , I was next in line. I ordered the lobster and shrimp backed potato and the the hallelujah potato. They were both eye appealing and had a scent that filled my car. Customer Service was amazing and I waited no longer than 20 minutes with 7 people ahead of me. I'm so happy I decided to try something new it definitely was not disappointing. You can find this family owned food truck nestled in the plaza in between the family dollar and bus stop off of post oak and w. Orem. I had the pleasure of trying the lobster and shrimp potato . the shrimp were juicy and the lobster topped it off just right! I stopped by OMG Baked Potatoes through a recommendation of a friend and my sister. Luckily for me, the drive isn't that bad where I stay. I decided to take the drive and I was not disappointed. I was happily greeted when I walked up to the counter. Also I was introduced to the popular items on the menu. My sister specifically told me to get the broccoli chicken potato with shrimp and I decided to go with the "Lord Have Mercy" (this is really on the menu haha) It took a good 10 min until I got my food so I given a buzzer and decided to go back to my car and listen to Spotify. I was shown the food to see if I approved before it was wrapped up. When I got home, I devoured that thing. That "Lord potato" is definitely a recommended item. That first bite knocked me down. The combination of cheese, potato, shrimp, bell peppers and etc really hit the spot. The shrimp is seasoned well and the potato was soft. Everything blended so well. They came out for an event at our school. Super friendly staff. The menu was great it had visual of what they offer as choice for your bake potato's which made it easier to make a selection. Personally idk where all the good reviews are coming from maybe I came on a bad day or maybe my taste buds are different from others but this place was horrible. After reading all these reviews and seeing how good the food "LOOKS" , I decided to give the place a try and go all out I spent $70 dollars here on the Omg 4 meat potato , the meat lovers pasta and a oxtail baked potato. Every single thing I had was bland, I did not enjoy this food at all and was very pissed I spent so much on bad food ; on top of that I was told I would have crawfish tails in my pasta instead of bacon due to my boyfriend not eating pork and it was not added. Idk what was put in there I wasn't told what I was served instead of the pork. I paid 51.00 for 2 "Baked" potatoes... this is my 2 cents from an experienced culinary artist. YOU SHOULD NOT identify as having a baked potatoes, when you are Boiling Potatoes...And if you are boiling them you cant pull it out of water stuff and serve...at least let the potato sit in a hot box for 10 -15 mintues before you use them... if that is the case... My potatoes (Lbster, Stk, Shrmp and the Oxtail) were watery and bland, the potato was so watery i couldn't even taste the cheese... i could only taste an over boiled watery potato....yuck, man I threw that ish away...Also the ox tail was waaaaay over cooked, i could only see the bones and mushed meat slightly spread over the center of the potato... Okay. I tried really really really hard to understand the hype behind this place. I went on quiet Saturday morning to pick up my food. I ordered the Lord have mercy as well as the oxtail because it seemed like what a lot of people were getting so I figured it must be good. Honestly, I was less than impressed with the hygiene and attention to cleanliness. I did not see any care about using the same gloved hands to handle the food as the one used to also handle money transactions from customer to customer. Needless to say as soon as I got my food even before entering my car I sanitized my hands and wiped down the bags and handles. I also wiped down my debit card multiple times. To make matters worse it looked like the food had splashed all over inside of the bag and just handling the two styrofoam containers was a complete hot mess. Anyhow, onto the food. No doubt about it the food tasted pretty good, hence my three stars. I like the oxtail and I think they give you more than sufficient amounts. I honestly did not care for the Lord have mercy. I guess that's the whole idea is to load you up with Meats and Seafood. Almost seemed too much and somewhat thoughtless in terms of how they slapped everything together. I did really enjoy the bacon wrapped shrimp. I wish they had one that literally only had bacon wrapped shrimp, potatoes and maybe bacon bits within the potatoes . I would definitely order just that. Now, would I return? Maybe. But definitely after all this coronavirus scare has died down. Their attention to detail when it comes to cleanliness and hygiene is way too questionable.
