This is a moderate to small sized restaurant located in a plaza with no direct left turn from the northbound direction. The restaurant has a bar seating area where people can watch the sushi chefs at their craft. The service was nice and friend with a helpful call button on the wall adjacent to our table and the overall vibe was welcoming and relaxed. (I did see a sushi chef imbibe a sip of beer behind the counter.) We ordered a salmon teriyaki plate, baked spicy scallop roll, and a beef teriyaki roll. The salmon teriyaki came out first, and my company did not appear to like it very much. The beef teriyaki came out next and the rice seemed like the wrong type. It wasn't packed well and didn't seem sticky enough which resulted in the roll falling apart. The teriyaki itself was good, cooked well if slightly too salty, and the roll as a whole was okay. The scallop roll was good. Scallops were flavorless but we are a distance from the sea. The roll itself had a slight crisp from the baking process and whilst it did suffer from cohesion issues like the teriyaki roll, the sweet and spicy sauce, crunch, and creamy interior does work. Whilst the overall flavor does warrant a four, my overall opinion is that this is a good option if remaining in the nearby area.

Checking out this place since I'm in the area. Wanted to eat sushi and this one pops up since we were a mile away from Haven City. This place have good seating and sushi bar is great for customers viewing the sushi chefs. Very friendly and attentive service too. Check out what we ordered. It's so delicious that we devoured it not because we were hungry. It's just that good. Definitely recommend this place.

Hamachi was perfectly seasoned and grilled. The soft shell crab was the perfect crunch and tenderness of a crab. I didn't get to take a pic of the spicy tuna sushi and the 3 item combo as we were hungry. The 3 item combo was combo tempura, oyster and salmon teriyaki. Originally, we ordered beef teriyaki but later asked to change it to salmon as it was cold. The server was very polite and efficient. The ambiance was clean in the dining area but the bathroom needs renovation, a bit of tidying up and organization. I would be back to try other dishes on the menu for sure.

Unfortunately, after years of coming here weekly, I must change my review from 5 to a 1. The food is not the same quality as before. The chefs are not the same quality as before. The customer sevice has declined significantly. The avocado inside my son's baked salmon roll was completely rotten. I informed the owner, he said he would reimburse me, however, he did not. I'd be cautious to eat raw seafood at this restaurant. I have pictures, which I will attempt to post.

One of the few restaurants that close later at 10pm which is the main reason we came. Came at 845 and was seated right away. Not packed but still a good number of people. Looks like they are staffed correctly because service was good and food came fast. Poki salad - great salad! Tons of fish and ponzu dressing is yummy. Salmon carpaccio - very good portion of salmon. Same dressing as the salad Mixed tempura - this came piping hot. 3 pieces of shrimp with 4 pieces of veggies. Batter was crunchy and the dipping sauce was flavorful. Eel special roll - California roll with eel and spice tuna on top. I wasn't expecting the spicy tuna (not my fave but they made it well). And the portion size was very big for the roll. Food quality high (food price also high but at least quality is there and service was good)

First time to try Omokase and this is great sushi place. It's located corner of Haven and foothill. It is very spacious . Liked the bar. Lots of clientele. The sushi chef looks authentic Japanese Service was good. The attendant was very attentive. Keep refilling our drinks. Food was awesome. From the appetizer to the main entree and sushi roll were excellent. So fresh, tasty and sushilicious The Yellowtail collar and salmon collar were grilled to perfection. The ponzu sauce blended well with grilled fish . The vegetables tempura battered was so crispy and not to oily. The rainbow roll, unagi roll and baked salmon roll were so delicious. The sushi rice didn't fall off when you picked with chopsticks. The other sushi place that we go to frequently their rice roll was too soft and it breaks when you pick it up. The baked mussels were excellent not rubbery when you eat it . The sauce mixture they put on top was splendid. The tempura green ice cream ended our anniversary dinner well. This will be my new go too sushi restaurant.

We went here on a girls date and let me tell you it didn't disappoint! The sushi was so good and fresh! Their service was great they made sure we had all we needed and asking for extra sauces was no problem, they were extremely welcoming. The ambience of the restaurant was very sushi normal they had spread out the customers on both sides so we didn't feel overly close to other and they had sports on their screens which was great as a personal sports fan. Definitely returning to this restaurant again.

I have been to Omokase a few times over the years but never had the chance to review them. Very convenient location in Rancho with lots or parking, we were a party of 2 and were greeted right away by almost every staff member which was very welcoming. We sat on the bar and was very spacious and had room for multiple plates. The Chef at the sushi bar took care of us, very nice and took very good care of us. Food came out quick and everything was fresh, delicious and nothing smelt fishy 5/5. Overall was a nice experience and will definitely be back, highly recommended!

Are making reservations a good idea for a Wednesday early evening dinner? I'm flying in from out of town and want to make sure I can get a table. They don't seem to answer their phone.

You should be fine. Depending on how big of a party but I would assume that they could accommodate a party of 6-8 with no issues

    18% service fee?

I was just there last week and there was no 18% service fee. Hopefully that hasn't changed or I'll most likely No return.

Does this place serve RAMEN and SUSHI? (I didn't notice ramen in the menu)?

Yes, they've got a section for ramen and udon. They have several options.

    Is this place unlimited?

You can order whatever you want, they will keep bringing rolls to your table quickly. I say about 1-2 minutes after you tell the waiter what you want they deliver it to the table it's a fast and FRESH sushi bar! Hope that helps defiantly worth going…

Has this restaurant recently changed hands or changed management? Thank you Mari, I was thinking more in the last month or so, something has majorly changed.

Yes, they had a new owner about 2 yrs ago and new restaurant manager shortly after.

Do they have fresh delicious Uni?

No uni... At least I haven't seen it on the menu.

    Does this restaurant offer all-you-can-eat?

Hi I've been to Omokase's a few times and they have never offered all-you-can-eat.

May have just found our new favorite sushi restaurant! The atmosphere and decor were modern and classy, and whoever was in charge of the music had phenomenal taste! The sushi itself was amazing, fresh and flavorful with so many different options to choose from. Same goes for the cocktails, I love a mojito and the Sakura Mojito may have been the best mojito I've ever had. Our server was lovely and fun to talk with, attended to our every need and allowed for a great dining experience. 10/10 will be revisiting!

I had a good experience at Kuwada (Rancho Cucamonga). My family and I ordered about 12 dishes on…read moreour visit. The selection felt limited (mostly rolls, nigiri, and appetizers). The rolls came very saucy, and most plates had an aesthetic appearance. Personally, if I were to ever revisit this location, I'd only order the garlic noodles w/ shrimp & the nigiri. For this review, I will focus on the Lobster Tail Roll ($36), Gyoza ($14), and Monaka Ice Cream ($7). I arrived at Kuwada (Rancho Cucamonga) on Sunday (around 12:50PM). Parking is very easy. The lot is HUGE. I had a reservation for 1PM, but a reservation felt superfluous since the restaurant was VERY empty. Throughout the entire dining experience, I only noticed one other group arrive. Staff is the HIGHLIGHT! Staff (receipt says JoJo) was the MAIN superstar. JoJo charmed the table; JoJo maintained a professional, kind demeanor; and JoJo worked very hard. JoJo gave excellent recommendations, and JoJo maintained a friendly, bright smile throughout our visit. Regarding food, it felt inconsistent. The food in the beginning was plated elegantly and carefully. However, as time progressed, it felt like the kitchen was beginning to rush despite the lack of customers. Food arrived very slowly, and later plates looked a little splattered and untidy. Thankfully, most of the food was very good. It's a journey of texture, fresh ingredients, and light & bright flavors. The Lobster Tail Roll ($36) had fried lobster bits, asparagus, avocado, masago, eel sauce, and mayo. It tasted like a vegetable roll at times. The Gyoza ($14 - 6 Piece) was panfried with seasoned pork and vegetables. Tasty!! And the Monaka Ice Cream ($7) is tiny with Macaroon Shell and a small scoop of Green Tea Ice Cream. All in all, these dishes didn't feel special, but they were prepared well enough. On ambiance, Kuwada (Rancho Cucamonga) is very attractive. The location is dimly lit, very clean, and spacious. However, the music is awkward at times. There were moments where light, lovely music was playing... only for random yelling music to briefly appear... to then suddenly be replaced with a country-style song. It all felt surreal. I don't think it was intended, but I think their music playlist was accidentally switched to the wrong track. Overall, Kuwada (Rancho Cucamonga) is an interesting experience. Honestly, the only reason this review is "5 Stars" is because our waitress was EXEMPLARY. Although the ambiance and cooking staff was lackluster, the front of house is MAGIC. This is a not bad, pricey place. 4.5 out of 5

I had to try it out with that recommendation! I had gotten a reservation for 6, for a table. It's known for omakase so if that's what you're looking for, ask for a seat at the sushi bar. We were welcomed by Emi (Emiliano) at the front and seated immediately. Plenty of parking behind the building. Table seating in the front room and sushi bar in the back. I don't typically appreciate tv screens in restaurants, but this one was playing scenic photos of places in Japan so that was ok. My husband ordered an Echigo beer (his favorite Japanese beer which is not offered everywhere), and I ordered a glass of Plum wine. He then chose the Godzilla roll which was a crunchy roll wrapped in eel and avocado, whereas I chose the Passionflower which was tuna, salmon, yellowtail and crab meat wrapped in cucumber. Emi told me it was one of his favorites. :) My husband enjoyed the Godzilla roll very much--he found flavorful and satisfying. Both the ginger and the wasabi were fresh and delicious. The Passionflower roll was so fresh the fish melted in my mouth, and the crunch of the thinly sliced cucumber was delightful. It was by far the most unique roll I've ever tried, containing neither rice nor nori. I loved it! It paired well with my sweet plum wine and then the complimentary green tea ice cream Emi brought us for dessert! So overall, ambience was 3/5 but food and service was 5/5, I'd love to return and try other rolls! Highly recommend!
