Very disappointed in the quality of sushi for the price. I know the shrimp tempura in my dragon crunch roll was left out for hours, it was dried out and shriveled up. Average sushi. We went for my husband's birthday dinner. Limited outdoor seating so, we had a good wait. We made a rather larger order and the 1/2 of the fish we requested was out. For the large sashimi platter, there was two fish that I would never have ordered. We ordered sweet shrimp and were given regular shrimp. This place is trash. Not only did they get our order wrong but the rolls tasted terrible! First they mixed up the toppings for spicy rolls with regular rolls and vice versa. Got a baked Alaska that had spicy crab meat and a spicy lobster that had a plain Cali roll... When I called to tell them about the mix up, the manager started lying about a "new" menu that all their crabmeat was spicy. She then began arguing with me and saying if I wanted a different roll and ordered the wrong one I need to bring it back. I did not make a wrong order! As of our visit on 11/23/21, I had to remove a star for our most recent experience unfortunately. As much as I hate to do so, every roll that we had ordered fell apart. It was awful! Came here for the first time with a friend, and wow, the food was really tasteful. The rolls are a good size, so you will get full. Service is quick, the place was clean and the staff is good looking. Went at 1pm and it wasn't too busy, which was nice. The inside is spacious and it's a nice atmosphere with good music. I'm not sure how it is during the evening, but I'm making this sushi place one of my top spots. I do highly recommend this place if you have time for lunch or even for a date night. Do Not Eat Here! I picked up a togo order from Omokase on Tuesday July 7, 2020 after 8pm. By midnight I was over the toilet vomiting, and my partner had diarrhea. I called the restaurant the next day (Wednesday) to request a refund, and was told by a female staff member that no manager was available to speak with, but if I gave my phone number, I would hear back from a manager by the following Monday. The staff member was very dismissive, and even argumentative of my complaint, and desperately wanted to get me off of the phone. I never heard back from anyone at Omokase again, so I filed a transaction dispute with my bank to get my money back. Today, September 28, 2020, after months of waiting to hear back from Omokase, I received notice from my bank that Omokase was disputing my bank claim, and that the restaurant had been, "framed unfairly" by myself, and that nothing was ever reported to a manager, and that I am at fault because I did not get the name of the employee that I spoke with. I have frequented this establishment before, and have never had any problems until now. There is no reason for me to lie. It's shameful that a business would stoop so low as to accuse a paying customer of fraud. I will never be eating at this establishment again, because their lack of proper food safety standards resulted in my food poisoning, and their lack of professionalism, which resulted in them not trying to resolve the matter. -------- Attached are my cellphone records confirming that I did call their number, (909) 941-4111 on July 8, 2020, and spoke with someone for seven minutes. This apparently was never reported to a manager. I've also attached documentation showing Omokase's lack of professionalism in addressing the situation, saying they had been "framed unfairly" by my complaint. I came here on a Saturday night around 730. It was weird because bar seats were available the entire time we waited but we got seated there after waiting for 20 minutes. Not sure if that's a mark against their service or if they just were so busy they weren't paying attention? Weird. Other than that, the service was timely and good. CATERPILLAR ROLL: Roll comes with eel, Low-key sad whenever a caterpillar roll doesn't have a presentation of like a caterpillar face/head like some sushi restaurants do, but definitely don't let that deter you! Tasted exactly as I expected-yummy! SALMON SUSHI: Two fat slabs of raw salmon on a little bunch of rice. I like that ratio! Tasted as I expected (delicious), but size was surprisingly huge! Finally I sushi joint in Rancho Cucamonga I can rave about. We came on a Saturday night after 9 and although it was past dinner the place was still hopping. We we were delighted to discover that Saturday has happy hour but only on drinks. Our server greeted us right away and after some drinks we tried their shrimp tempura appetizer. it was a big portion and delicioius. We also tried a couple different rolls. The rolls here are super big. I could barely get one of them in my mouth it was so big. A roll the stood out to me was the simple spicy salmon roll. Normally I see a ton of spicy tuna rolls but not so much spicy salmon. For such an easy roll the flavor was on point and we devoured it. We were so full halfway through the rolls we couldn't even finish. The restaurant was quaint and the tv is in the middle of restaurant with a bar for everyone's viewing pleasure. I've been coming to this spot for 4 years. I don't go to any other sushi spot. Tonight I tried to place my usual pick up order, phone line was "busy". CallEd from my girlfriends phone, busy. My brother's, busy. Mind you this has never happened. Since I've been calling since 9pm, I rush as fast I can to the actual restaurant to make sure I make it. I walk in and ask if anything is wrong with the phone and I see YOUR employee put the phone back on the hook and VOILA it magically begins to work. Look.. bad customer service is tolerable but for your employee to take the phone off your hook from 9-10pm so that customers can't place pick up orders is pathetic. Update: It's been smooth sailing ever since then and the quality of the fish here is the best of Rancho. Sushi chefs here are amazing. read more

The rolls were large and tasty. If you like tempura goodness and lots of crunch, mayonnaise, and cream cheese, this place is for you. Additionally, they have many types of drinks available, including many types of domestic and foreign beers, sake, plum wine, and sake martinis with lychee flavor. Don't expect the most authentic Japanese food or experience. This restaurant takes a simple formula for success and perfects it: good flavor, a courteous staff, and plenty of drink specials. i am a regular. i have been going here for the last 10 years or so. Quite bad experience tonight on service. i understand that its covid in restaurant industry, but you got to adapt. Tonight i came in because we were in the area and my wife was craving some omakase. i came in and the receptionist asked me to write my own order on a piece of paper "1st warning" no restaurant ever ask customer to write his own order unless it's a food truck. I wrote down the order and gave it back to the receptionist. I asked how long it would take and he said 1 hour. I asked my wife if she wants to wait that long she said its okay. I came back and told the guy to process the order. He said okay. 2nd warning sign. He didnt ask for payment. I then reasked him if he did get my order. He showed me my piece of paper order and said he did. Okay i thought it might theit new covid policy and they were quite busy. So we waited for an hour and came back. Then I came back asking the guy ready to pickup my order and pay. They said they cant find order under my name. After looking around, he found my piece of paper, and he said they tried to call me to process my order. This is when I got really pissed. Shouldn't you confirm the order back then an hour ago? They said they can did my order if I waited for another half an hour. I cant wait that long anymore I got kid with me that i have to feed. I said to him to just cancel my order. Iam not a restaurant owner, but the current take out process is clearly broken. Normal process should be in place. When customer came in for take out, order should be taken in then and payment should be taken then. The order guy seems new and inexperienced. I thought this is basic order taking in restaurant. Iam sure food is still good in omakase but service clearly has gone downhill. i would expect because they prioritize their alcohol and bar service high margin area then their take out business. This place is really great! Ordered a Tuna Blossom as the appetizer which was a great change of pace from the usual Rainbow Roll. Then ordered the Sashimi Love Boat. The variety of fish was also fresh and the pieces were huge. Lastly, finished off the meal with a Crunchy Salmon Skin Hand Roll. Wow! Unbelievable! What a fab place! Ontario doesn't have a lot of good choices for sushi but this place really exceeded my expectations. I asked a bunch of people at the office out to lunch and sold the place on their chicken because there aren't many sushi fans in this office and they all seemed pretty happy. I got the 3 item combo meal and I was surprised at the large portion size for all of our meals. Not only that the sashimi was very generous and fresh. Beautiful!
