The Margaritaville resort is shiny and new! We enjoyed staying here at the resort for a little "staycation." Unfortunately, the food here was just OK. Very unremarkable. The menu is lacking in vegetarian options and not super creative. Maybe it's because I grew up on the beach that this menu seems so typical to me. And I suppose I don't need to tell you that the prices were pretty outrageous. Very overpriced, on par with Disney, only without the rides! I may stay here again, but if I do, I'll be going to the other on-site restaurant instead. Tired, grumpy kids or not. read more

We had lunch and dinner her for the first time this week and we were pleasantly surprised! I don't know why I wasn't expecting much, maybe because the place is new and almost all of the employees are new but you really wouldn't know based on the food and service. Let's start with lunch. We just ordered a few item since it was late and we were coming back for dinner later that day. I ordered the tuna poke with plantain chips. Nice sized portion. It was good, not great. It need some seasoning or some sort of acid. My daughter had a pice of key lime pie which was excellent. We also ordered the conk fritters and yucca fries. I am a conk fritter aficionado and have eaten many many conk fritters in the keys and these were EXCELLENT!! Just like I've had in Key West! Dinner: I ordered the seafood platter (Cudjo) and it included coconut shrimp, beer battered fish and more conk fritters (yum) and fries and coleslaw and 3 different dipping sauces. All of it was excellent! For $22 it was a great deal! My husband ordered the blackened fish sandwich and he loved it as well. We were a bit disappointed that they didn't have a happy hour or any drink specials. Breakfast wasn't too bad. It was a Buffett but I have had better. The hotel is amazing but I wouldn't suggest eating breakfast here unless you are going to eat a lot. The pastries were hard and not flaky for having croissants. The egg omelette was the best thing. Sausage were pretty good just a little fatty but still tasty. Our first morning at the hotel, we opted for their breakfast buffet which included juice and coffee. After looking at the buffet, we were very hesitant because it looked like a complimentary buffet you would find at a 3 star hotel. We were hungry so decided to try it since they make eggs to order. I asked our waiter if they had American cheese, he said yes so we both ordered omelets with American. I ordered a plain cheese omelet, so I was very disappointed after we both received cheddar cheese and his didn't have the ham he ordered. After the wait, we just decided to let it go. The other food on the buffet was not good. Eggs tasted weird and pancakes were horrible. The syrup was empty although the restaurant wasn't busy at all. For the price of $15.99, the food should be good at minimum. I would not recommend On Vacation for breakfast. I left hungry amd very unsatisfied. read more

The new Margaritaville Resort in Kissimmee is a great place to visit for its relaxed atmosphere and whimsical design. The restaurant "On Vacation" has a menu comparable to other resorts. The breakfast we had was excellent and filling. The soft-scrambled eggs I ordered came prepared as I expected. Applewood smoked bacon was delicious. There is better pricing for the buffet, however, it was not available this morning. Food was great and worth a return visit to see what's on the buffet. The breakfast buffet is only available when the hotel is at a percentage capacity. I'm surprised this has not already been reviewed. read more

REALLY slow. Place was almost empty and our server took forever. The server forgot several people ordered non-buffet food so they sat around waiting until they finally reminded him. Multiple tables got up in frustration to ask for their checks. Food was mediocre at best. Dry eggs and overly greasy bacon. Love the concept of this place, we were greeted and seated right away. We had a really nice view near the window but it's raining. We sat down and looked over the menu trying to figure out what we'd like to get, The breakfast buffet is really what I wanted to get but unfortunately it's not available on Wednesday. So we were kind of forced to order al a cart which I ordered the scrambled eggs and a side of bacon my husband ordered some poached egg dish we did not order drinks we only ordered water with our coffee which has been refilled twice. We have now been waiting for over 25 minutes for our food. A waiter came past us not our waitress and asked if we needed anything and we asked where our food was? He went to check and came back with our food. (There was literally like four tables occupied in the restaurant) so it wasn't busy, finally got our food which was not hot but warm. It was Cooked correctly but the entire order did not come out all at the same time. We had our meal, paid our check and left, we were the only ones in the restaurant as we we're leaving the manager asked us how everything was? we explained to him that we had to wait a very long time for our food,he then explained and apologized that they were down to one cook and he himself had gotten into helping cook the food as well. We told him we understood and we were going to be back tomorrow for the buffet. We went the next day(today) for the buffet at approximately 9am this time we were the only table there. We were greeted and seated very quickly, and advised the hostess we would like to do the buffet today. The hostess said that we would get Coffee from the buffet, and that someone would be with us in a moment. Since we were going to get the buffet I thought that maybe we could just start but since we were not queued to do so we sat patiently and waited. The hostess then came back and asked if we wanted juice, which I inquired comes with buffet? She said yes so I ordered some Apple juice which was delicious. She then said we were free to go to the buffet. Which we did and I attempted to make myself a homemade waffle on the machine they have and it was delicious and easy to navigate, I enjoyed the buffet which was a really good price for everything that's included.($16) it was only $34 w/tax for the two of us. I think is a great deal in Orlando, I've paid $25-$32 alone just for one breakfast buffet in other resorts. I felt like I was a really good value. Since my husband and I were enjoying the resort in the middle of the week we felt that it may have impacted the way the restaurant runs according to the manager as well they usually are very busy on the weekends. All in all, we enjoyed having the convenience of the resort restaurant. read more

We visited this restaurant for their Friday/Saturday comedy club. Was sat down at 6:57, waiter didn't take our order until 7:50 even though he visited other tables. At 7:53 he came with waters, spilled one on my mother in law said he would be back, never came by the rest of night to clean up the mess on the table nor the floor. (Note that this comedy show was until 10:20 with no cleanup whatsoever) At 8:10 he passed by when a couple was sat at our table, took THEIR orders but not ours. It's 8:43 and our drink STILL have not arrived. He comes to the table at 9:07 to visit the couple at the end of the table, we force conversation because one of the many drinks that he got wrong had glass inside the drink from the glass being broken. He got our drink orders wrong so many times that we had an extra 5 drinks for free because he kept screwing up and giving us others. Out of the 11 people in our group, 4 people ate because he did not attend to the rest of the party. EVEN THOUGH this portion was between the ones who got food and the couple added to our table. It's 10:00, we give up on ordering because he still hasn't even come with the replacement drink for the broken glass one, we still haven't received the waters we ordered at 9:07, and he still hasn't come by to help with the spill on the table and floor. Note he has also stepped in the puddle on the floor and still nothing. My mother in law had to move very closely to another member of our group to still not get wet, very uncomfortable for 2 people basically. We do enjoy coming here but we will definitely ask for a different table or waiter the next time. Oh, and to put the cherry on this wonderful sundae, we told the manager about our experience and we still had to pay for the drink we never got served and got an annoyed "ok" for saying all the things that happened to us.
