Had a Sunday brunch here last week, the omelet special was delicious, the complimentary tray of croissants and bread was awesome, the waiter was excellent and very courteous and helpful. I don't normally write reviews but after eating at One Bistro maybe 30 times in the last year I needed to write one. I ordered the veal porter house meal last night. The problem with it was if your going to say porter house as a description of the meal then it really needs to be a porter house, which has both the sirloin and the tenderloin on it and not a T bone that has just the sirloin. Secondly, I will have to agree with Tracy S. that the servers are a hit or miss with their service some are very pleasant and others not so much. Even with this being said I will still continue with going to One Bistro since the quality of the meal is good. read more

Terrible dinner. I have not been to One Bistro for several years so was totally disappointed when I brought a friend here tonight. Service was good but the dinner was beyond terrible. Both my friend and I had the vegetarian coucous. The food came within five minutes which always concerns me. In any case, the dish included about a 1/3 cup of coucous with two pieces of spinach on top with a few onions mixed in. At best, it was a weak third-choice side dish. Should not be presented or priced as an entree. My guess is that the dish has an incredibly high profit margin! I have to say that I was embarrased to have brought someone here. I've been here twice. Once for lunch and once for dinner. We've done apps, meal and dessert+drinks to try as many of their things as possible. I got their lobster pizza which was on a perfectly fluffy dough. The flavors worked well together and even reheated well the next day. I'd recommend it to everyone. We came here on a late Sunday night. My first encounter was at the bar. The bartender was easygoing and knew the wine selections well. Good selection of bourbons and whiskies, including Bulleit Rye, Basil Hayden and Angel's Envy. I returned to the restaurant with my wife less than a half hour before they closed on a Sunday night, and the service was friendly, attentive and informative. The seafood risotto was perfectly cooked and a moderate portion. What moved my review from 4 to 5 stars was the quality of the chowder - white, thick, and the scallops, shrimp and littlenecks were cooked perfectly. We'll be back! read more

I don't understand what the other people were talking about on these reviews. I had dinner there on Saturday night and it was great. It was a bit busy but nothing our fabulous waiter couldn't handle. The food was served promptly and hot! We had french onion soup and clam chowder, which my husband said is better than the "seafood restaurants in Boston". My drinks were amazing, I had their signature Dooley Cosmo, they said he is the hotels DOS, and he has one great taste if this is his favorite drink! Very good selections on the menu, priced fairly and my family will be back with our friends. Came here for dinner on a whim, I was staying at the hotel with my fiancé. I thought we were in for a typical bar style dinner, after all it was 930pm. Much to my surprise it was delicious. From my blueberry mule to the shrimp spring rolls to my delicious sword fish with pumpkin squash purée and a fig bacon sauce. I will stay at this hotel again just to eat at the restaurant. Just ok. Went here for brunch and the service was friendly but pretty lax. Multiple orders were wrong and specific but simple requests were ignored while some portions of meals were just plain missing. For instance, one friend asked for no breakfast potatoes to be included w her meal but they still came on the plate, and she was supposed to get 3 eggs but only got 2- the item was listed as having 3 eggs, not like she asked for an extra one. Another friend asked for eggs to be poached (on a dish where you can choose your egg style) and they came fried. The food was ok but nothing special and I thought the portion sizes were small for the price. The classic breakfast of eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast barely took up a regular plate- when it arrived it was underwhelming. I'm not sure if the oversights were the fault of the server or kitchen or both, but ultimately it doesn't matter. Wouldn't go again considering the other brunch places w better service, quality, and value in the area. read more

We went here for a Saturday lunch and we were all genuinely pleased with our meals. For cocktails, I tried the white peach sangria. It was a generous glassful and tasted nice and sweet. Price was a little hefty so I only drank one. The bread came out fresh and I really enjoyed the cranberry nut bread. The only thing I suggest is that they soften the butter, its a pain trying to get rock hard cold butter onto a piece of soft bread. For lunch I had a lunch trio which consisted of a sandwich, ceasar salad and onion soup. Everything was good except I didnt care for the flavor of the soup. It wasnt bad just not my favorite. My dining companion had the lobster roll which was a generous portion that came with fries, coleslaw, and a pickle. No complaints. Other dining companion that a shrimp special which was also well recieved. Dessert options were kind of uninspired. We shared the belgian chocolate mousse, which wasn't bad but I wouldnt go out of my way to order again. The only complaint we had, which is the reason for minus one star, was the service. There were barely any other tables occupied and yet our waitress was barely seen. She spent alot of time chatting with the other servers so we spent alot of time just waiting for things like the dessert menu, refills, the check etc. Not really acceptable when the restaurant is slow. Would we go again? Most likely. If the service was the same, that would probably be the last time. read more

We have been dining at One Bistro for a number of years and have been consistently pleased. It is the only restaurant where I order Filet Mignon; flavorful and always cooked as requested. There is always a nice variety of fresh fish available. The Bistro Salad is enough for a light meal. Whether we want a three course meal or a pizza, we choose One Bistro. The dining room is bright, cheerful and always sparkling. Cloth table cloths are a nice touch for casual dining. Wait staff is well trained ; new staff are prepared to offer details about the menu. Because it is located in a hotel; the variety of guests creates an interesting atmosphere.. If you are looking for an attractive setting; good food and variety at reasonable prices, we recommend it. One Bistro is attached to the Sheratan Four Points hotel in Norwood. Located on Route 1, Minutes from Rt 128/95, it is a convenient location if people are coming from different directions. I've dined at One Bistro twice in the past month. Both times were delightful. Both occasions were to celebrate someone's birthday--family one time and a good friend the other. Each time was a success. The food was delicious (Three of us had the Scampi one time and all were raving about it.) The wait staff was very nice - never rushed us either time and we closed the place once.d. For one birthday, I arrived early with cake and present and gave them to the hostess. Once the table was cleared she had our server present them to the birthday girl and took a photo of the group. If you're looking for a very quiet place, you may want to look elsewhere. I didn't deduct a star because I already knew this going in and, in fact, like the energy. Plus, it wasn't too loud for conversation, which is always a pet peeve of mine. Three of us dined for $115 before tip. That included two martinis and a dessert which we split (chocolate lava cake -- I highly recommend it!) It's not inexpensive, but certainly no more than other restaurants of the same caliber. read more

Huge portion, cooked to perfection and whatever that mushy orange thing it was just scrumptious! I paired it with couple of glasses of Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. My husband and I have been going to One Bistro for the last few years. One thing I can say is that their food is ALWAYS consistent. The wait staff is friendly and pleasant, and the manager, Jemo, is a true professional, "hands on", and assures that you will have a great experience dining there. The food is high quality and cooked to perfection, i.e., this is my "go to" for filet mignon; it is succulent, tender, and sizable (10 oz). The main entrees are always beautifully accompanied by 2 delicious sides. Their dessert menu is mouth-watering - we split their warm chocolate molten cake over a Vanilla Creme Brulee, along with a side of fresh whipped creme and a mango berry sauce. This used to be our favorite place to go for years, for family occasions. The food was always excellent, as was the service. It appears that there have been changes in chef and managers that have caused the quality to go down hill. Wanting to give benefit of the doubt ( an off night perhaps) we actually gave it 3 more tries. This last one will be our last. I noticed another review re the risotto - and I experienced the same disappointment on a previous visit. On another visit, I was served stark so tough and over cooked the steak knife wouldn't cut it. When I sent to back, opting for a different steak entree, I received raw met- I mean blue in the center raw. How does something like that even leave the kitchen?! Sent that back, and after now waiting for a meal I could eat for about an hour ( everyone else was well into finishing) I received the same meat back, with half of it over cooked. I gave up at that point. The new manager stumbled through apology but didn't comp the meal. On our most recent visit, two of our party ordered the burgers, asking for medium well. They were served with bloody, rare interiors. An "upscale" restaurant can't be bothered to check a burger, or know how to cook it well done, sends it out blood rare?! Had to flag down the server, who ordered new ones. It was quite a lengthy wait for those- a burger doesn't take that long, and a second try should be put in front of other meals. I ordered the potato gnocchi with braised meat, sounded good- huge disappointment. It was a large soup bowl full of over cooked- gummy- gnocchi, with a small amount of brown gravy, a few mushrooms, and a about 2 small chunks of meat, a few shreds. Not only was the texture of the pasta gross, but there was little meat to fill an appetite. The manager did apologize and comp the burgers. We went there this passed Saturday , we were there 3:30pm , the food was not up to the standard we asked for a hamburger with no cheese medium well the one they brought was burned and with cheese we did complain but they never took it of the bell , my mom ordered chicken noodle soup it tasted so bad that i could not even try it the smell of chicken wasn't good . I decided to dine here after some solid reviews. Bar was full so I got a high top. Service was slow. Started with a martini then ordered scallops for an appetizer. Presentation was good. Scallop size was good. Looked very good but too salty. Tasted like they finished it with kosher salt. Would have been very good if not salted. I ordered the duck breast with lentils and charred vegetables after the waiters said it was excellent. Well the duck was dry and tough. The lentils were good. There were no charred vegetables. I would have asked for something else if my waitress returned in a timely manner to follow up but she didn't. I'm trying to figure out why I rated it 3 stars. My husband picked this for his birthday dinner-and to celebrate getting a new job! It was perfect! Our adult daughter joined us. We were greeted warmly at the door, asked if we had a preference for a booth or table (I hate booths!) and the great attentive service continued all night thanks to Niña. We started with mixed drinks. Not ridiculously huge or overfilled with ice-just good cocktails. For appetizers my husband had the chowder and was nicely surprised when he pulled up a whole large shrimp and scallops that were easily recognizable vs chopped tiny. My daughter and I shared the calamari-more than enough for both of us. The bread basket with whipped butter was delicious. The main dishes were more than adequate without making you feel like a glutton but still enough to take some home. We all had some version of risotto and all thought it was spot on. My husband had the seafood dinner, again with extra large shrimp, clams and scallops. Our daughter had the parmesan crusted chicken with a nice collection of artisan veggies and I had the veal mignon saltimbocca that literally melted in your mouth. The night was finished with crème Brule and pecan pie accented with perfect berries. My family and I went to One Bistro last night for the first time - and we were very, very impressed. First off I want to say that our waitress RACHEL was amazing and truly made the night for us - she was so helpful and genuine - a really refreshing change - and always lots of smiles. The children's menu was good - not just the usual offerings - and my husband and I had well portioned and tasty food. Even though my husband made a wrong choice in his food - not the fault of the chef or the restaurant, and nothing we complained about - we were given free desserts which we thought was incredibly generous. Today my boyfriend and I went to bistro one because we wanted to celebrate the new year with some cocktails during Sunday brunch. This was our first time here. The bar was empty so we sat down and ordered our drinks. We ordered the granola, yogurt, and berries for an appetizer. The berries were fresh and the granola was good but the yogurt was gross! Anyway for my main meal I had prime rib hash and eggs with paper thin toast that tasted more like a cold cracker served plain, no butter. My prime rib hash was missing the prime rib. The eggs were perfectly done and hollinadse sauce quite nice. We were planning on racking up the bill pretty high with cocktails because we were celebrating but the bartender kept forgetting our drinks. So we ended up saving a bunch of money. read more
