Shrimp cocktail (missing a few) we were hungry

Food was great. We all enjoyed our m Al's and the very generous bread basket Outside area was busy so we sat inside.

We love this place! We end up at the this Sheraton every year for business and we love the whole place in general. The service here is exceptional and the staff is really nice. Usually when you dine at a restaurant that's in a hotel it's pretty disappointing, but this is an enjoyable experience! The food here is really pretty good! I've noticed that people love their pizza and the fish and steak dishes. Their Caesar salad is absolutely and you can add your choice of protein if you like. They also have homemade bread that is brought to the table....i don't normally eat bread, but I just can't resist this, especially the cranberry bread! The burger is also good, and the fries are great, and don't forget about the French onion soup! We don't even leave the hotel when we're working here, we just head down to One Bistro. Give it a try you'll be surprised.

When you go to brunch here the first thing they do is give you a basket of DELICIOUS PASTRIES. Like a bread basket but much more delightful. We don't make it here much because Brunch starts at 11 and we've usually eaten well before then, but it's such a treat to go here. The restaurant is very pretty and the outdoor area is pleasant too for the summers. Recently we had the Benedict and the vegetarian benedict. The vegetarian benedict was on sourdough, with guacamoli and heirloom tomatoes. It was really wonderful. They will make you a good espresso too. The early bird menu from 4 -5:30 is fun if you can catch it. It's a $25 prixe fixe menu. It's three courses. We haven't gotten it recently so I can't vouch for the current line up - but when we have gone the food was really wonderful. We don't get here very much but it's always really delicious when we do.

    5oz filet w/ crabcake

French onion soup was delicious. I had a special which was a bone-in statler chicken breast with balsamic glaze served with mashed potatoes and carrots. My husband had the 5oz filet that came with a crab cake, Bernaise sauce and chopped potatoes. We finished with the molten lava cake with vanilla bean gelato for dessert. Service was good. Everything was delicious with the exception of the molten lava cake. It had an odd chemical taste to it. We would definitely eat here again.

An absolute MUST! The cuisine is phenomenal and we were blessed with a fantastic server. Each plate has unique items, which offer a nice change from your traditional chain restaurant - while still featuring some classics. Crab cakes, seafood chowder (best soup I've ever tasted) & Grilled Atlantic Salmon with salsa verde and caramelized fennel. I'd gladly visit again. It's fancy enough for a nice night out but casual enough to accommodate a business/travel dinner. There is dedicated parking for the restaurant and it's naturally lit space. Marriott has a winner on property!

It almost has a homey feel and the servers are always friendly. Their food tends to be hearty and comforting. A few dishes I have tried and enjoyed include: - The cassoulet, which is not a traditional French cassoulet at all, but it is comforting and filling. I would give it an 8/10 (ask for extra bread). - The baked brie is really good and comes in a big portion. I would give this a 10/10. - Le Jardinier is an open-face veggie sandwich. It has a lot piled on the bread, so it can get a bit soggy, but it is a good lighter option if you do not want one of their heavier dishes. 7/10. - The gratin is sooooo good. It is a super decadent mac and cheese with thin slices of prosciutto. 10/10 - Chaider (not a food item) is my favorite drink. It is a mix of chai and apple cider 10/10. - The duck house potatoes and eggs are good, but if your eggs are overcooked, the dish can be a bit dry since there is no sauce. I think an option to add hollandaise would potentially elevate this dish. 7/10. The gougeres, beignets and crêpes are also good.

We enjoyed a 2021 Domaine Drouhin Pinot Noir with our dinner. My husband and I shared two appetizers, the beef tartare and the lobster raviolo. Outstanding! The beef tartare was so fresh and flavorful. Unfortunately, there were only two pieces for $19. The lobster raviolo was filled with mascarpone and lobster topped with trout row. Decadent. One ravioli priced at $21. I had the Dover soul with almond sauce ($64) and hubby had the roasted duck ($34) for entrees. Both perfect in every way. One minor suggestion is that the Dover didn't need the frisée. It just got in the way. Our friends who recommended Chanterelle suggested that we order the Grand Marnier soufflé when we ordered our dinner because we shouldn't miss out on this dessert and it takes some time to bake the soufflé. Oh my goodness...I have never tasted something so divine, creamy and luscious. Silk on my tongue. The service from Nick and the young lady assisting was spot on. It is an expensive restaurant but I think worth the $$$$ Just be aware of the cost so you're not surprised. I've dined at Alinea in Chicago which is a 3 Michelin star restaurant ranked 9th on the World's 50 Best Restaurants list, and Chanterelle might be my 2nd most favorite restaurant after Alinea. We looked online for local restaurants to dine at during our stay. Neither my girlfriend or I have ever gone to a French restaurant, so we decided on The Metro Bistrot, due to all the fantastic reviews. I called and spoke with Jay (chef and owner) a week prior to make the reservation. We took an Uber from the hotel, as it's BYOB and brought a couple of bottles of wine. This was a Saturday before a big snow storm the following day. I think due to this, the restaurant wasn't as busy as usual. We ended up being seated in the back room all to ourselves. It was a very nice room that had about 4 tables. Stephanie, our server was an absolute delight! Turns out she works for the hotel as well and she's the one I spoke with when we booked the room. She opened our Beaujolais for us and brought some wine glasses. She kept the bottle chilled in the fridge for us. She went over some of the specials being prepared that night and was able to make some nice recommendations. My girlfriend ended up with the special seafood soup special with a lobster stock as a base. I ordered the escargot. Both were absolutely fantastic. She kept our bread basket filled with wonderful fresh warm bread to soak up all the goodness of the soup and escargot. My girlfriend ordered the boar shank and I ordered the stuffed quail that was stuffed with foie gras and pate. The boar meat fell right of the bone and was some of the most tender meat we've ever had. Both dishes were phenomenal. Jay stopped by our table to chat. He's super nice and even took some photos with us. We ordered 3 different kinds of cheeses prior to ordering dessert. All three we ordered were great! Stephanie also brought us a bowl of crackers to go with the cheese. For dessert, my girl had the cheesecake with an oatmeal crust and fresh berries. I'm not usually one for sweets, unless it Crème Brûlée, so I opted for the Boursin stuffed Shrimp, forgetting it wasn't an appetizer, but a main entree. It was out of this world! All the fish Jay brings in are always fresh and NEVER frozen. He even poured me a small glass of some white wine and it went so well with the shrimp. We cannot wait to go back. The prices are very reasonable and the service and food is second to none. Cheers!

Post-COVID, life looks a little different. I've changed jobs and moved to another town, so it's no longer the easy drop-in it once was. Still, I make a point to come back at least every few months. What hasn't changed is the consistency. This remains one of the most reliably excellent restaurants in the Boston area, and still one of my all-time top five--while others that once held that spot haven't quite held up. One thing has changed, though: the Ghost of Mary. Scotty, the former bar manager, created what's still my favorite cocktail of all time. When he left, the drink left with him (by mutual agreement), and while he generously shared the recipe with me, I've never quite managed to recreate it at home. It was clearly meant to be made by the expert. That said, Sycamore hasn't missed a beat. The space is still as comfortable and quirky as ever, the food remains consistently excellent, and the current bar program is in very capable hands. We ordered drinks--including a pear mocktail--but were brought the wrong ones, and then they attempted to charge us for those incorrect drinks. In hindsight, the cocktail mix-up should have been a warning of what was to come. The pear mocktail itself was also quite bad. The service felt chaotic throughout the night. We asked multiple times for additional servings of steak and fries, but were largely ignored. Meanwhile, nearby large tables were repeatedly served, cleared out entire trays, and still received more attention from staff. For an all-you-can-eat steak frites offering, we each received only one serving despite several requests. As for the food itself, it did not make up for the service. The steak was just okay--some pieces were chewy and overly fatty, though acceptable if refills had actually been provided. The fries, however, were terrible. Our first serving was so hard it was nearly inedible, and the only refill we received was just as bad. I also ordered the spinach risotto, which was slightly better than the steak, but it was so salty I couldn't finish it. Overall, this was a frustrating and disappointing experience.
