On this particular visit, our wine was complete, so we were all part of the assembly line that got to bottle it up. We each took a case of wine home. About three tastings in (we don't really drink) we needed to add some carbs to the party so we checked out the food menu. $10 for a small pizza, not bad at all. The pizza is made in the oven right there and smells so good! I think we spent two or more hours at Vegas Valley Winery and enjoyed every minute. Booked a tour with Master Distiller Johnny, and from the moment I arrived, they took great care of me. The tour was fun and informative. I know a good amount about distilling whiskey, but they talked about their specific processes and the unique attributes of distilling in the hot desert. After the tour, I spent some time in the awesome tap room. Old School vibe to it, with food that rivals the restaurants on the strip, bartenders who are friendly and make a killer cocktail, and just a great place to chat with folks at the bar and hang out for a quiet evening. I will absolutely be back next time I'm in town. It's well worth the trip. Don't forget to pick up a couple of bottles; they even stock bottle protectors for you to get them home safely (like all 3 of mine did).

The brief presentation by the father of modern icewine making, Donald Ziraldo, was informative and insightful. I love dessert wines, so hearing about the microclimate, harvesting the grapes, and non-traditional pairings for the exquisite icewine was especially interesting. Donald was definitely the right man for the job of Global Ambassador for Canadian Icewine. The sampling of the icewine was a nice treat. I really enjoyed the Vidal Icewine, which has a really nice bouquet of tropical fruits flavor notes. And getting a sip of the Cabernet Frac Icewine was really a nice treat (Thanks Dean!) I am for sure going to Total Wines to get me a few bottles. Overall it is still good but less entertainment then most years and not many extra gifts that we are used too.

The server did appear again & offered us more toast, but we had already finished the brie because it was really good. -Asparagus with hollandaise- Amazing. Just amazing. -Duck with bone broth- I don't eat duck, but my husband orders it once to twice a month in Chinatown. He didn't like this dish as he said it was quite undercooked. He's not one to complain and he ate it all without letting the server know and didn't tell me until after the meal. -Hanger steak with broccolini- This was good. I liked seeing the steak actually show up medium rare. I've had some bad experiences lately with other restaurants pushing out medium & medium well steak instead of medium RARE. Although, we didn't really have an appropriate knife to cut the steak. It was quite challenging. I told my husband that if we return, I'd be sticking one of our knives from home in my bag as the provided knives were just THAT bad at cutting meat. The chimichurri was AMAZING! We dipped anything and everything in it. -Panna cotta- This was AMAZING. It also wasn't too sweet so if you're wanting a bit of dessert, but don't want a full on explosion of sugar at the end of your meal, this is a great choice. Service was great, just like Esther's. After I disputed the charge with the credit card I received the refund from the property. Resorts world then responded to the credit card dispute stating that I have NEVER contacted them about this. So, they waited to see if I would dispute it then to avoid penalties corrected the mistake after I did. What an absolute joke. I'm booking my Vegas stay for next month and 100% not considering this property.
