I came to town for a funeral and was staying with family, but with a packed house and late-night work ahead, I decided to book my own room to get some rest. Around 8 p.m. I booked a room at One Lakeside. Unfortunately, I did not finish my work until 2 a.m. and was woken up at 7 a.m. by loud construction right outside my window. I had hoped to make the most of the morning by relaxing on the rooftop, but was told it would cost $30 for a wristband. Normally I would not mind, but after spending over $300 on a night of sleep I did not get, the extra fee felt unreasonable. When I expressed surprise, the front desk insisted they had told me at check-in, which is not true. I arrived at the hotel about five minutes after booking and no one mentioned it. If there was an email, it did not arrive before I got a phone call confirming my check-in time and giving me building access instructions. At check-in I received a printed sheet (pictured) that makes no mention of needing a wristband for the rooftop or hot tub. This information would have been helpful when booking. Additionally, taxes, fees, and parking charges were not disclosed on the booking site. I booked directly through Stash, which I believed to be their management company but might be affiliated with this hotel in some other way. Overall, I paid for a quiet and restful stay and ended up with an early wake-up, undisclosed charges, and unexpected access fees to use services that I was led to believe were included in my stay. It was a cute place and super clean. I would maybe stay again if construction weren't going on and they were most upfront about fees. read more

Abhorrent behavior from Erica, the so-called "manager" at the front desk. We booked directly through the hotel's own website and got an official confirmation from SynXis (their reservation system). A few days later, Erica called and said our first night was CANCELLED because they were "overbooked." That's not my problem that's a management screw-up by having a negative inventory open. Instead of fixing the issue, offering another room type, or at least trying to make it right, Erica flat out refused to help. She doubled down, told us to "look elsewhere," and then hung up on us. This was ONE night we needed. We had the rest of the week booked, but they decided we were the ones to cut. (More than likely due to us booking directly, since they would catch a fine cancelling a Expedia or third party booking) Disgusting attitude, zero professionalism. Booked a 3-bedroom directly through their site, then told it was "overbooked" for the first night. Erica, the manager, was condescending, offered no solution, and hung up as her shift ended. Leroy was equally rude and dismissive. They canceled our entire stay because I questioned why they wouldn't offer a solution for their error. I do not believe this is in line with Columbia Hospitality's core values. We were flying in for my father's funeral. All we asked was to be placed in three one-bedroom units for the first night at the same rate as the 3-bedroom. Zero accountability, zero professionalism. Seems like you need new staff. read more

I stayed at One Lakeside for one night in November 2023. I was originally going to stay at the CDA Resort, but their rooms were $100 more and only 1/3 of the size. I'm SO glad I booked with One Lakeside instead. I stayed in a 1 bedroom suite, and it was the size of a full-blown apartment. The unit had a full kitchen, living room, bathroom, bed room, and laundry closet. The unit was nearly brand new, highly modernized, and spotlessly clean. Beyond that, the unit had a balcony with a beautiful view of Lake CDA. The staff were extremely friendly and the check in process was a breeze. Parking garage parking, hot tub access, and rooftop patio access were included with the stay. I was also impressed by the little details. The fridge had a brita water filter. They had locally-sourced, ground coffee for the coffee maker (delicious by the way). The complementary soaps/shampoo in the bathroom were also very high quality. I only stayed one night for a business trip, but I'm eager to return with my wife for a weekend vacation. It was a 10/10 stay and somehow their prices are incredibly affordable. There was no parking available even though the site says guaranteed 1 spot so had to pay another $50 to park down the street. Once I dropped off my stuff I went to check out the hot tub to find out its closed for the residents only even though I was already charged the $25 to use it. Drove over an hour to stay here and it was an absolute horrible experience and waste of time/money. Lots of false advertising read more

Our room is clean and very nice and quiet. Access in and out of the parking garage is nice and secure. If you want to use the roof top jacuzzi, extra $20 per person. Want to sit up on the top floor and take in the view, afraid not, your disrupting the full time tenants. Maid service, so sorry, not till you leave... room service, don't have... coffee, water? Go down to the local businesses and buy... We stayed for the week and appreciate the beautiful room. read more

This was the absolute worst experience of my life and my moms. I brought her here for her 82nd birthday. Not a friendly greeting or even a happy birthday, we were trapped in the one working elevator, I tried to cancel after that, we were not accommodated. My mom who has both hips replaced a double mastectomy, and myself with 1 working lung had to use 6 flights of stairs., my missed a step on level 4 and could barely walk, I reported to the front desk, they did not care, no accident report. This place was dirty the tub was greasy we couldnt use, it smelled very strong in the halls, the coffee pot was dirty, it was the worst experience of our lives for over 500.00 for 1 night. The management lied about the elevator, cleanliness, and were extremely rude. RUN away from this place, its NOT a hotel its a condo., with limited small parking also. I am posting this review as the same I posted on Expedia. The definition of a hotel is "an establishment that provides lodging and usually meals, entertainment, and various personal services for the public." This place had no concierge (only one person available from 7a-11p), no restaurant (oh yes...but you have to walk to them outside of "the resort hotel", no bar, one elevator. The room smelled a bit dingy, one key card didn't work, their attitude was fair to poor at best when I showed my disappointment. It was like "sorry." It was NOT a "resort" as advertised. It is an Airbnb...a condo and FAR FROM calling it a HOTEL or RESORT. A resort is "establishment whose purpose or main industry is catering to vacationers" according the Webster. This does not cater in any way. I asked for my money back and the front desk said no...seemed like they heard that question before...and since I booked through them there was no representation or possibility of a refund full or partial... so I ate $1700!!!! I moved across the street to a REAL RESORT HOTEL, the Coeur d'Alene Resort. 1000 times better with several restaurants, stores, pools, spas, concierge 24/7, beautiful rooms and outside area...I would NEVER recommend anyone to One Lakeside. To say that it's a "resort" is laughable. It's as much of a resort as Motel 6. read more

The two stars does not reflect the desk staff. Wouldn't stay again. Dirty rooms. Very expensive! This hotel/condo is only a little over a year old and it has its problems! They do not have a carpet shampooer so the rugs in the rooms and the hallways are filthy dirty. Vacuumed but dirty. They don't have a hard surface floor cleaner either. The floors in our rooms (we rented two) were disgusting. We wiped up spilled water with a paper towel and it was black afterward! the gym isn't open and maybe never has been. The weeds in the planter beds on the 4th floor patio were 2 feet tall! This patio appeared it hadn't even been cleaned or even swept. The barbecue was gross most days. Fire door handles falling off! Several owners told us of numerous other ongoing issues (leaking windows, very poor maintenance, owner doesn't care (openly) to address any issues. Oh, and they charge $25 per person, per day, extra (over 18 only allowed) to access the pool area! Parking is very tight and limited. The only thing this has is great front desk staff, location and full kitchens, which were also not cleaned properly. For how expensive this place is to stay, it should be almost perfect! This building is in a prime location near the CDA lake front. The walk along the lake is right out the door, beautiful restaurants and cute shops are in the neighborhood. The room was new construction awesome (floor to ceiling windows with shades, blackout in bedroom) very clean, well decorated. One bedroom, large tv room/ kitchen / dining areas well stocked with things you use. Washer/dryer was useful for travelers on the move. This is not a traditional hotel, more like private residences with a few rooms for rent. Don't sleep on the secure parking, rest easy at night knowing your vehicle is behind a card locked garage door only assessed with room keys. Best option in the CDA lakefront area for sure. Never in my life have I been so duped by a resort. One Lakeside is a bait-and-switch operation. We planned our 42nd wedding anniversary trip months in advance to the beautiful town of Coeur d' Alene. Even though it was just my husband and myself, I was promised the best views were only from the larger units and so I was willing to splurge on a three-bedroom corner unit because "the views are the best from these rooms". That was a complete and utter lie. Our view from the patio deck chairs was of a four-foot concrete wall. While the other units above us all had glass railings to see through. I cried the first night because I wanted to surprise my husband with this fantastic view of the lake, and I felt completely taken advantage of as it cost me $2,058.06 for a three-night stay. Additionally, we were granted access to the rooftop deck to enjoy the views up high sitting by the warm firepits. Mysteriously all the "firepit igniters were not working" when we decided to sit up there. This was the poorest managed hotel I have ever been to, and I will never return. Don't let them take advantage of you as well! read more

Terrible service and they wouldn't even let us work out in the gym. Why would I have to pay an extra fee to work out in the hotel gym? Super weird. Also they have pictures of a nice deck pool but then they tell me I can't use it unless I pay an upgrade fee. read more
