Honeydew MT Brown Sugar Jasmine
Anthony Z.

Since I was visiting my family back in the bay from SoCal, I decided to look for a new boba shop to try with my little brother. All the ones near me in Alameda were chains, and this one popped up a short drive away with a name I've never seen before. When I was close to the shop, I could barely see the entrance and didn't know where to park, since the plaza parking gate had a sign that said "Sorry, closed". It seemed to be electronically activated since I saw a few cars leave. I had to find street parking, which was iffy in a neighborhood in which I felt was kind of sketchy. The signage for the boba shop is small, but it should be right in the plaza with the parking. Since I came after dinner hours, I couldn't really see the sign, and made a few loops trying to make sure the store was there. The interior was small with no bathroom. I ordered a Brown Sugar Jasmine and a Honeydew Milk tea. My brother really enjoyed the honeydew milk tea with lychee jelly, and he isn't usually someone who likes milk teas as much as me. The sweetness was good, but it was a little too sweet for my taste. Otherwise, no complaints. The same can be said for the Brown Sugar Jasmine. I would recommend 75% sugar when ordering from here. I could taste hints of molasses meaning they used genuine brown sugar, but it kind of overpowered the Jasmine taste. Overall, I would've definitely enjoyed the drink more at a lower sugar level, but it was still good. (I was offered a free sugar adjustment, but I was like w/e). The boba pearls are really good though. They have that soft exterior with a little firm interior, so they were both easy to chew with a good amount of bounce. They also were sweet when chewed, so it doesn't feel like you're chewing gum that's lost flavor. Overall a 4 star experience, could be better with the parking situation and larger signs to show its a boba place, but I understand it may not be under their control. The highlight is pretty good boba pearls, and I would recommend 75% sugar.

Even though the place is located in the most random hidden place ever the service was fast even with one worker, and they had a deal (buy 3 get 1 free) which is awesome! The drinks were good and the sizes were perfect, i would come back if I was in the area it just was a struggle to find parking.

Paid too much for disappointment

I ordered this via doordash. I got the brown sugar fresh milk with 25% sweet. When I took my first sip, it was as if the drink was 125% sweetness. I was soo disappointed. I just gave birth so I wanted something amazing to enjoy but this was a no go for me. I paid $10 for this drink to go to waste. If you have a sweet tooth then this place is definitely for you but if you're someone who likes semi sweet drinks then probs not the best place to come. Almost taste like diabetes.

I live right down the street and decided to give this place a try after seeing their sign on the corner of Fruitvale. There are not many boba places on this side of Oakland so I'm glad they're here! service was great and the boba milk tea was delicious. After the drinks were made they told us to give it a try and that they would adjust the sweetness of it wasn't to our liking which we appreciated. Will definitely be back. Thai milk tea and roasted oolong milk tea

I was in the Fruitvale area and I was craving for some cold drinks. I went on Yelp to search for a milk tea shop in the area. I found One Milk Tea and want to give it a try. I'm usually very selective with my milk tea, I went ahead and ordered their famous Roasted Oolong and Thai tea for my girlfriend. Their milk tea tasted amazing with strong tea and less sugar in it. I will definitely recommend to those want to try some new in the area. They also offer outside delivery to customers.

Showed up at 2pm on a Friday when their hours say they're open. Doors were closed and no one was there. Waste of time.

Best boba ever! Small quaint area. Don't leave anything in your car when buying though! You WILL get bipped.

I have been to several places that offer acai bowls, and Main Squeeze in Alameda does a great job!…read more Of course, the place could use more seating, but I'm okay with taking my bowl to-go. I was there on a warm Sunday, just to try their acai bowls. There's four acai bowls on the menu board, so I asked the gentleman behind the counter....."which is the best acai bowl?" With confidence, he said...."the Oasis Bowl." He likes the Oasis Bowl because it features seasonal fruit. That means the recipe and taste experience can change with the seasons. When I was there, the seasonal fruit was pineapple. This place makes a good acai bowl. For $13.00, it's not overflowing with fruit toppings. Instead, it's packed with fresh fruit, crispy granola, chia seeds, honey and coconut flakes on top of a acai base. It's definitely a meal, not a fruit bowl snack. The interior is very clean. It has a small outdoor patio. According to signage, there's no indoor seating. Main Squeeze is located near the Park Street Downtown. It's walking distance from the Alameda Theatre, public parking lot, and Alameda High School.

I tried the "Ooh La La Passion Fruit!" fruit smoothie and it was refreshing and delicious. Service was great. The smoothie was made with apple, passionfruit, peach, and mango. It cost $9.78 after tax and tip. This was for a 12-ounce serving. 16 and 24-ounce sizes were also available. The drink was fresh and made to order. When the employee made it, they blended the ingredients in different batches/phases. My wife thought it was interesting because she's never noticed smoothies at other shops blended in that way; the employees usually dump everything in and press the blend button once. The O Smoothie employee took extra care in making the drink. During our visit, the shop had 20 smoothies on the menu plus juices, shots, bowls (e.g., acai bowl), and treats like mangonadas. The store is humble and tiny with almost no seating. There was a bench outside the storefront. This place is more of a counter-service / takeout joint than anything. The employee was polite and efficient. O Smoothie replaced Juice Appeal, another smoothie and juice bar in this same spot, in March 2016. We would definitely come back.

The absolute worst boba shop in Alameda. Do yourself a favor and don't go here…read more I've been here multiple times because I kept giving them another chance, but every visit seems to come with a new problem. One time there was a hair in my drink. On several other occasions I ordered a smoothie, only for it to be handed to me already melted. Even the popcorn chicken has gotten noticeably smaller over the years. The drinks aren't good either. The flavors don't taste authentic at all--they have a very artificial, fake taste, like they're just dumping flavored powder into a blender instead of using real ingredients. The shop itself is also poorly maintained. You can see dust and spiderwebs around the store, and it doesn't feel like cleanliness is a priority. I've given this place more chances than it deserved, hoping it would improve, but it never does. Save your money and go somewhere else.
