They quoted me over $600, and I asked what a replacement toilet would cost, and they said over $1000. The serviceman was very curt, and when I mentioned that these prices were high in today's environment, he shrugged and said "sorry, that's the cost" I called around and got Advanced Plumbing, who sent a great techincian (Aaron) who repaired the toilet for a total cost of $300. He was friendly, professional, and did the work in about 20 minutes. Discount Plumbing is a rip-off, and evidently they try to upsell you for parts and services. Steer clear of them and go to Advanced Plumbing.

We've lived in the house for over 40 years and were used to sweaters and sweats in the winter and during our hot days spending more time in the cooler downstairs. We now leave the thermostat set at 64 for a low and 74 for a high and the heater rarely goes on. Today (9/9/2026) we think the AC might actually go on later today. Yesterday the house never even reached 74. We had building efficiency do the insulation almost 2 years ago and have gotten so used to our house being in a comfortable range all the time we rarely even think about it. This latest heatwave has reminded us of how glad we are that we did it and that we should give them a plug again! The process itself is fairly disruptive but doesn't take too long and Building Efficiency was very profesional and helpful in minimizing the disruption. Our only regret is that we didn't do it long ago.

They also sent me a text with the name and headshot of the technician coming, which I thought was a good customer service touch. They had a $69 inspection fee and the fee was waived when they ended up doing repairs. They assessed the leak was coming from of the connections to those sinks that have the pull-out nozzles (I don't know what you call them). The technician said other than that that the sink looked in overall good shape, and the price they mentioned didn't seem outrageous. I approved the repair and they got it done in a couple hours. No complaints from our tenants since the work was done.

The short review is this: Martin is a wizard! He sucked a 2 lb. Piece of metal out of my main line…read morewith a shop vac, saving me thousands of dollars in repair costs! The details: I called Martin after a clog removal by another company went sideways (probably the topic of a no star review in the future). The first company identified where the problem was, but also caused a spill of sewage inside the house, then quoted me $5k to dig up the pipe and really fix the problem. To no one's surprise, I wasn't happy. So I called AHJ for a second opinion, and Martin answered the call. He spent a good 20 minutes on the phone, asking me detailed questions about the problem, and explaining my options (the other company did none of that). He made no guarantees, but said he thought he could solve the problem, so I asked him to have a look. He was at my house within 3 hours. The line had two objects stuck inside, causing backups. Martin worked to jet out one of the objects out, then used a camera to inspect the entire 80 ft. length of the pipe. The second object was still there, though, and it looked like digging was the only option. However, this is where the real magic happened! The second object was about 12 ft from the clean out, and it was not budging. Martin, however, thinks outside the box. He got out a large shop vac and stuffed the hose down the line. With the help of his camera he aligned the end of the hose with the obstruction and started up the vacuum. It took a while and was not easy work, but Martin eventually pulled out a 8" long, 2 lb. solid steel spring! That's no exaggeration (How that got in there I'll never know). It was Amazing! He also documented everything with his camera and thoroughly explained everything that we could see. So, I now know all about the good, and the bad, of my main sewer line, should any future problem arise. Thank you, Martin, for the exceptional service!

Paul responded to our request almost instantly, was at our home at 9am, and we had a functioning water heater with a new pilot assembly by 9:20am. Paul also noticed the exhaust vent wasn't correctly installed by the previous company and fixed it free of charge, which has brought our gas bill down by over 20%! Their service was priced competitively and communication was excellent throughout the process. Most importantly, they truly care. They took what could have been a nerve-wracking process and made it feel effortless.

I called Excalibur and they said this wasn't true. They could install a similar model of tankless water heater to the one I had. Their quote was almost $2000 less than the other plumber. I since had an HVAC company come out for something else and mentioned I had to change the heater recently. I told him what I paid and he said that was honestly a good price. Excalibur seemed honest and helpful and they were able to come out first thing the next morning and get my heater replaced. They did a good job and the new unit looks better installed than the original. They also gave me advice on how to maintain it and what maintenance I could do myself to descale it etc so it doesn't break again. Overall happy either way the service even though overall it was expensive it was still less than other quotes I got.
