Paul also noticed the exhaust vent wasn't correctly installed by the previous company and fixed it free of charge, which has brought our gas bill down by over 20%! Their service was priced competitively and communication was excellent throughout the process. Most importantly, they truly care. They took what could have been a nerve-wracking process and made it feel effortless.

I called Excalibur and they said this wasn't true. They could install a similar model of tankless water heater to the one I had. Their quote was almost $2000 less than the other plumber. I since had an HVAC company come out for something else and mentioned I had to change the heater recently. I told him what I paid and he said that was honestly a good price. Excalibur seemed honest and helpful and they were able to come out first thing the next morning and get my heater replaced. They did a good job and the new unit looks better installed than the original. They also gave me advice on how to maintain it and what maintenance I could do myself to descale it etc so it doesn't break again. Overall happy either way the service even though overall it was expensive it was still less than other quotes I got.

Project was clear a clogged bathtub drain, change faucet and s-pipe in powder room. CARLOS arrived within time frame of service, was quick to assess and get to work. Once the original project was completed, on checking pipes in the garage, noted there was an active leak. In the garage! Thank goodness, CARLOS was still there. He assessed the situation, offered me options of service. Essentially a quick patch job or replace the pipes completely. Given that the pipes were original with house. Inaction was not an option for the leak either. A patch job would only defer the work further down the line. I like to take care of issues as soon as I can. So I opted to replace the pipes. Groan... CARLOS returned the next morning and set to work right away. I was surprised he didn't have any help but he did an excellent job! CARLOS is well-thought out of what he needs to do, meticulous in plumbing the job and that it's done correctly in minute detail. CARLOS made sure he cleaned up the area, went over the changes with me and while I cannot address the pricing point here. I was very appreciative and glad CARLOS was here and had taken care of the scheduled work, as well as the unfortunate unscheduled work. CARLOS gets FIVE+ stars for himself alone! I called Discount plumbing who sent Antonio out and he arrived on time even though it was a Sunday afternoon. There was no additional call out charge for it being a Sunday and no charge unless work needed to be done. Antonio spent time investigating our sewer line which was completely blocked with roots and partially collapsed. Antonio showed us the camera footage as he investigated. He also went into the crawlspace to confirm what my husband had seen. Antonio was so personable throughout and very clear in his explanation of what was going on and what work needed to be done to fix everything. He returned with a full crew the following day at 8am who put in a 13hr+ day to replace all the damaged pipes in our crawlspace and replace the sewer line. They wouldn't leave until they had replaced our lawn and put our deck back together, working in the dark. Given we initially thought we would have to move out of the house while we waited for work to be done, this was an amazing service.

Theirs came in at a very reasonable rate, and most importantly, they had capacity to start as soon as possible because we had an urgent sewer line failure. When I called, I believe I came into contact with the owner. I explained to him the scope of the job, and I even told him that he probably doesn't need to send a plumber out because, at this point, we are just comparing costs and I even hinted that we were desperate to get started as soon as possible based on what was told to us by the other plumbers that came out. The owner told me that he'd send a plumber out anyway to do their own scope, since other plumbers may have not been consistent, he could have very easily taken advantage of my desperation in this time, but he didn't David was the only plumber out of the many bids we got who actually called us out and showed us what was on the camera, and explained to us what was happening underneath our house. Within 24 hours, he got the quote back to us. Again, he knew it was an emergency, so the turnaround was great! He came out with a nicely staffed crew. Within a few days, our floor was jackhammered, there was a mound of dirt in our garage, and within the next few days, they connected our sewer line, so we were only without water for a few hours at most. The sewer line installation passed city inspection (SF) the first time. the dirt was quickly backfilled, with concrete poured on top. From a little over a week to the initial consultation, we had a perfectly working sewer line, and we were able to park in our driveway. they were very neat after they completed their job, and they even cleaned out our garage where all the backfill dirt was being stored. I highly recommend them for your sewer repairs, and they will be our new plumber going forward.

In my case, I have quite a story of having to go five days without hot water because the unit I received was defective. The day after the install we found the tank had shut down. After a reset and restart done over the phone with the installer assisting, the unit failed again, a short time later. The next day which was a Saturday, another technician came out to swap out a heat sensor which appeared to be the problem. While changing out the part, the tech noticed that insulation near the assembly had burned, and ash was present. He vacuumed it out and restarted the unit. It made a horrible noise, and he spent a half an hour on the phone with the manufacturer tech support trying to diagnose the problem. The noise eventually went away and he finished the repair. Unfortunately the machine shut down again after we got one warm shower. I called on Sunday, and explained that I was no longer comfortable with the unit being in our house and I wanted a replacement, of a different maker. Without hesitation they agreed, and Monday morning, after acquiring a, more expensive model of a different make from a supplier, we got a replacement installed, at no additional cost. These problems are rare, and not the fault of the installer. I could not have asked for a more timely and considerate treatment as a valued customer of this business.

I live in a 10 unit condo bldg Pac Hts. My kitchen pipe broke and was flooding my neighbor's kitchen when I used my sink, dishwasher, washing machine. It was an internal pipe so covered by our HOA. Same issue happened three years ago. Plumber then came a few hours for 3 days straight and charged $5000. This time (same pipe, different hole), Andree from Chosen Rooter & Plumbing came at 9AM and did the SAME repair in under 2 hours and charged $1150 for an emergency call. Edgar and a Assistant Jason showed up early ( around 930am). Scheduled to arrive between 10am & 12noon. Snaked sluggish kitchen drain then hydro jetted it. My home was built in 1926. 99 years of sludge and gunk build up cleared. Also replaced drain pipes below kitchen sink with heavy duty PVC plastic piping. Will probably last longer than me. I would give CR&P 10 stars for the service! I was lucky to find CR&P from their website and requested the service to resolve a clogged drain issue. Dannik helped me to resolve the issue and was available for the specific time that I requested. Ron from CR&P was very professional, wore a mask and cleaned the drain area after he used the snake. Many things to say here: 1. Having over 4 stars with at least 30 reviews is difficult to achieve. Having a 4+ rating with at least 400 reviews? That's incredible. 2. The drivers are always safe on the road, all of their works sites (the ones I've seen anyway) are clean and well organized. 3. I used to work for an electrician years ago - this doesn't make me a licensed contractor or anything, but I can tell the difference between a good business versus a bad one. Needed a water heater replacement. Omar came out and performed a comprehensive evaluation of my house (just for a quote). Additionally he discovered a leaking valve. I never felt he was trying to up-sell me for anything, that valve was dripping and I never noticed. He provided a quote for the replacement water heater AND (per my request) a quote for a tankless installation. I had a really troublesome toilet clog I just couldn't clear on my own. It was already late afternoon and worried I'd have to wait a day or so to get professional help unclogging. Chosen Rooter was able to dispatch someone to my home within 20 minutes of my calling them. Chris the technician was great! Was able to unclog without having to remove the whole bowl. He was friendly, professional, and did the work in about 20 minutes. Discount Plumbing is a rip-off, and evidently they try to upsell you for parts and services. Steer clear of them and go to Advanced Plumbing.

Before scheduling, I called to confirm the price, and the person I spoke with also stated that the inspection would cost $65. However, when the technician arrived, I was told the price was actually $190. The advertised price and the quoted price over the phone did not match what I was charged on-site. Based on my experience, I would avoid this business and make sure to get all pricing in writing before scheduling any service.

He closely examine the cut off valve under my sink. I told him that the valve had been opened and closed recently to fix the dish washer. He said that when the are opened or closed they typically leak briefly. He saw that is was not leaking now and charged me nothing. He left laughing and speaking of karma! Great guy!

Luis arrived on time, was polite, wore shoe covers, and kept his workplace clean. He explained the work, without trying to suggest any unnecessary repairs, which is greatly appreciated! Other "highly rated" plumbers I spoke with tried to charge up to 5 times more for the same job. Luis guaranteed his work and said he'd come back if any issues came up. Scheduling was easy and both he and the office were responsive. If you need a plumber, I strongly recommend getting multiple quotes, you'll be surprised (shocked, maybe angry) to see how much others overcharge. They took appropriate notes from the call, and gave me notice of their arrival so I could relocate an unfriendly pet away from the working area before they stepped on the premise. Mark who came to do the job, worked quickly and efficiently to address the issue.

I live in one of those older San Francisco buildings with delicate plumbing and even an old…read moretankless toilet. When my toilet suddenly stopped flushing properly -- it took three flushes just to clear a piece of toilet paper -- it was a true emergency since I only have one bathroom. Magic did get me an appointment quickly and the tech arrived on time. But he called asking where he should park... which felt odd. He drives a service van around San Francisco all day -- I'm pretty sure that's not something I should have to figure out for him. He quickly diagnosed that I needed a new flushometer, said he'd buy the part, and come back the next day. He did come back with the part, and here's where things went downhill. I paid him $900 upfront, had to leave for an appointment, and showed him how to lock my door behind him. When I came home a couple hours later, the door was bolted but not actually closed -- meaning my unit was left unlocked. And worse, the toilet worked exactly the same as before. No improvement at all. I had left him my phone number and told him to call if he needed anything. Who charges $900 and just leaves without confirming the repair even worked? I called the office, and they said they'd send someone out that evening. I waited three hours, and the same tech showed up. This time he said I actually needed a whole new toilet -- another $1000 -- but he'd give me 10% off since I'd already paid $900. That made no sense. I told him I needed to think about it. My husband suggested getting a second opinion, so I called Advance Plumbing. They came the next day, diagnosed the issue properly, and said I needed both a new bowl AND new piping inside the wall -- which Magic never mentioned. They replaced everything the next day (even coordinating the water shutoff with my building) and charged just $1000 for the entire job. If Magic had only replaced the bowl, who knows if it would have actually solved the problem.. So I called Magic back asking for a refund for the flushometer I paid for that didn't fix anything. The manager, Pablo, started out nice then he quickly got a little aggressive on the line, and kept saying they "deserved a chance to fix it." But why would I trust someone who already charged me $900 and didn't fix anything (and thought I might not notice)... with a second chance? That logic was apparently lost on him. They eventually agreed to refund half of my $900. Honestly, I think I should have only paid for the part, if anything, but I was exhausted by the entire toilet fiasco and took it, so as to move on with my life. Bottom line: I do not recommend.

Once again, they were courteous and professional in their estimation stage with their administration staff (Charlene and Junior). During the service for rootering of my rainwater drains and sewer drains, both Junior and Carlo were excellent in service and extremely courteous. Kudos to the entire team. Great company and great operations.
