I had used Minnick's a couple times before over the years and didn't seem to have issues, but the…read morelast time I took my car there, not only did it cost an arm and a leg for the repairs, but they botched the repair and caused me to have to take my car to another shop and spend hundreds more dollars. Initially, my car was taken to Minnick's due to a failed fuel pump module that caused my fuel pump and alternator to fail. The parts were replaced to the tune of $1900+, but my car died again within a mile of the shop. The second time I drove away, I was able to drive my car for 3 days before the engine started overheating. (Not only that, but I was burning through twice as much gas as normal.) Took it to another shop where they discovered that Minnick's had left the oil pressure solenoid unplugged, causing the engine to overheat, which lead to my thermostat melting in its housing. The amount of times the technician from Minnick's told me he didn't understand why my check engine light was still on when I drove away told me that he was pretty inexperienced. He had several excuses for why he couldn't figure out what codes were showing up, but the other shop had zero issues figuring out what was wrong and didn't go into a diatribe about how much time it took them to diagnose the repairs. It seems that the technicians at Minnick's are trained to tell people how much time it took them to do work and then tell people they "weren't charging" them for this and that and how much of a discount they're getting before they tell them how outrageous the bill is.

Interstate Liberty Service will fail your vehicle state inspection for things that are "not to be…read moreconsiddered" per the Handbook supplied to them by the state. When you point this out they will not check the book, they argue with you. The staf at Interstate Liberty Service are rude and unprofessional. Avoide taking your vehicle here, the place is a joke run by clowns. Owner will not return a phone call.

He was honest and told me he didn't find any leaks and said the tire may be losing pressure due to weather, recommended I keep an eye on the tire for a few days, and told me where I could buy a tire pressure gauge. Did not discuss how to repair new problem they say they found, need for new catalytic converter. Arguing with parts company that sent wrong part to determine who is at fault but not getting the part or keeping me informed. Customer since about 2016 and they have repaired 100 cars ahead of mine in the second half of July. Would you trust them or risk them doing this to you, randomly?

I had replaced the entire exhaust system just six months earlier, so I was surprised when they quoted nearly $1,000 for the heat shield, claiming it was not included in the prior work. After discussion, the manager agreed to cover it. However, this left me questioning the clarity of their previous service descriptions. While the car was in the shop, they recommended replacing the rear sway bar. The estimate instead referenced "rear suspension" at around $700, even though I had replaced the full suspension (front and rear) only two years ago. Again, they stated the prior work did not cover this component. These inconsistencies have seriously damaged my trust. When I returned to pick up the car, an employee handed me a broken key (the electronic component had detached). Staff then made rude comments, suggesting I find another service center and telling me they no longer wanted me as a customer. A manager joined the conversation and the interaction became confrontational. The main issues appear to be vague terminology, poor communication about what parts are included in repairs, and unprofessional handling of customer concerns. As someone who is not a car expert, I felt misled and no longer confident in the services I had paid for over time. This experience has cost them a long-time loyal customer. Rick , the owner his wife and all of the employees have been extremely polite to us, upfront, and very honest. They tell you what you need and you can make your own decision as to what you want done. They also provide a wonderful sitting area that is like sitting in your own home watching TV with comfortable furniture, coffee, and whatever else you care to drink I suggest that you try them for yourself and make your own decision. I have been in the auto body business growing up, and I do know good quality workmanship, and this is what they provide.

And he charges six times more than the other mechanics in town. I needed a Throttle Position Sensor replaced. I knew this because Auto Zone had run a scan (free). I left the car with him and a few hours later he called and said I needed a Throttle Body. But I had told him that two Throttle Bodies had been tried and did not fix the problem. He talked me into doing it anyway, because afterall he had better sources. He said if this did not fix the problem, I would have to pay the $425 labor charge. Overnight I realized he did not say anything about the sensor. I called him. He said that it did not show up on the scan. I asked if couldn't install it anyway making less labor than having to take the Trottle Body out later to do it. First he said no, and then said he would if it looked like it was needed. I had second thoughts about all of this. I went back to this shop the next day and said I wanted to pick up my car. He was furious. Said I would have to pay for the Throttle Body, even though he had not receive it yet. I reminded him that he had said he could return it. His response was he could only return it if it was defected. That is not what he had said. He had said he could return if it did not fix the problem. He kept arguing about this. So I said I would this police, punched in 91 and said 'okay, you do not have to pay for the part.' He printed out what labor had been done. And there on his printout was 'Throttle Position Sensor defective.' Do you see? He was going to install the Throttle Body and say he did not work but I had to pay $425 for the labor. By the way, the first two times this had been done the labor charge was $75. So I ended up paying $88 for the same scan Auto Zone had done for free. And yes, there is proof that a simple scan was run, not a Diagnostic Test. I went immediately to Auto Zone, they ran another scan and Rick's scan was recorded. Rick also charged me $20 for a relay that retails for $5-$10. And he charged $60 labor to replace it. The labor time to do this is at maximum 2 minutes. That includes: unlock car door, flip hood release, lift hood, open top of box that is sitting at hood level, pull out relay and plug in new relay. So do not go there, do not ever trust this guy. (By the way, I am a 78 year old, female with gray hair.) Nice guy, right?
