I was feeling adventurous on a recent Saturday evening and took my less-than-adventurous husband to One Stop Dumpling in Chinatown Orlando. This lovely restaurant is located in a large strip shopping center filled with Asian businesses. It's clean and formal-looking inside, but quite welcoming. We were seated immediately and a teapot of flavorful peach-scented tea was delivered. If you bring a group, the larger round tables are set up for sharing dishes. This could be a very fun experience. My husband ordered orange chicken for us to share. He also opted to use a fork. But since we were in a restaurant known for its dumplings, we ordered 2 varieties, fried plus their soup dumplings. I've had fried dumplings before, but never tried a soup dumpling. The orange chicken came with broccoli; my husband requested rice as well. The fried dumplings (with dipping sauce) arrived at the same time, followed by the (steamed) soup dumplings and some shredded ginger. Everything was very tasty. We brought some of it back to the hotel. The menu is extensive, so choosing what to try may be difficult. If you order soup dumplings, prepare yourself for them to burst, especially if you don't grab them from the top and consume them in a single bite. Lesson learned! Next time I'll put mine onto a soup spoon to eat. After the meal, our server brought bowls of coconut milk and boba. It was a very refreshing finish to our meal... at no additional charge. There was a QR code at the table as well as physical menus, our waitress made herself always available if we needed anything but I loved the concept of ordering online at our time and letting it come to us. This place was empty upon entering then a few mins later guests started to arrive. This place looked and smell clean. They offer bench seating with no table cloth and seating with lazy susan with white table cloth. So the bench seating offers on the table a scan code to view menu and they also offer book menu with large pictures if you request - They offered it and its more useful IMO than the scan menu. They offered free boiled spicy peanuts - It was good tender peanuts that were simmered boiled some spices. Ordered the Beef Ho Fun which is Beef Chow Fun - It was $16.95 or $17.95 I think. Also the Siu Mai which was $6.95 for 4 pcs. The Beef Chow Fun came in a large plate and the portion was not much, It can feed maybe 2-3 people. It looked delicious and smelled delicious. It looked well seasoned with dark soy had sprinkles of bean sprouts, white and green onions and thinly sliced beef which was not much. The taste was delicious with the wok hei taste but it needed more saltiness. Nonetheless it was one of the best tasting beef chow fun so far in Orlando. They need to add more portions for that price tag imo. The Siu Mai took forever to deliver. I didn't even ask about it because by the time it arrived on the table I was already full from the Beef Chow Fun. Ate it at home and it was tasty. It was huge dumplings compared to some places but It was tasty. No bad pork smell or greasy pork. It needed more shrimp chunks and mushroom imo. Otherwise it was tasty - I would order it again. Five stars WITHOUT their soup dumplings. Seriously, do me a favor, and go to kung fu - still best in class in Orlando! So, why five stars? Their dim sum is honestly the standout here. It's kinda.. insane? I've had dim sum since I was a kiddo - and all around, it's basically home food for me - even the crap places. But this place.. they do it RIGHT. 1) Turnip cake was CRISPY all around, and soft and steaming hot on the inside. And they do the NORTHERN way of adding a side of hoisin sauce on the side. Listen, I GREW up eating turnip cake this way, and most places here don't even offer it with this dish. 2) Shrimp rolls.. my god, they were so fresh, chewy, "Q" - chinese for chewy, yummy, bouncy - all around great. If anything, just a bit more sweet soy sauce would have been perfect, but honestly no real complaints. 3) Har gao (shrimp dumplings) - solid. This is honestly my benchmark for dim sum places - if you can do a fresh, steamy, hot, yummy har gao, you're getting at least a four stars. 4) Beef Hor Fun (Flat Noodles) - great. Honestly, the trend that they do their rice flour items well, continually consists. TBD might be close to one of the best in the Orlando area. Give it a try! 5) Duck baos! Pretty good - not huge portions, but for the price points compared to some of other places like YH, this hits the spots perfectly. I will write a bit on why I didn't love their soup dumplings - we tried their crab and pork, as well as one of the multi-colored. I'll start with a pro - they have a good variety. So if you like to taste and try different things, this isn't so bad. But I'm speaking as a traditionalist here - where the main ones are really just crab + pork or pork. You want a thin skin that never breaks, with a shit ton of soup, and a decent amount (but not too much) filling, that is juicy and savory. This was.. a bit of a thick skin, that broke about 25% of the time. Soup was solid, but the meat was a bit thick, and dry TBH. Pretty mediocre - so do yourself a favor, and try some of the other items instead. read more

My only objection would be the order online from your phone menus which yeah, I got during the pandemic why restaurants were using these but now it seems cheap and impersonal to me. My friend wanted soup dumplings and dim sum on New Year's Day. This restaurant is in a large Asian shopping plaza next to Enson's market, so close parking may not be in the cards for you. The shopping plaza is near the intersection of West Colonial and Kirkman. We were one of two tables as we arrived early but by noon, the restaurant was packed. The waiter approached our table and placed a small cup of mildly spicy beans. This is a nice complimentary welcome. We were handed large menus with beautiful pictures and descriptions. He pointed out a QR code sticker on the table to order dishes. I thought this was a little odd but the process proved to be an interesting development. The QR code goes to a URL for your specific table. My friend was ordering on her phone and the same URL allowed me to put items on our community tab. The menu is listed to match the paper menu so you see a running total as you touch items to add to the table selections. You still pay at the end in a traditional checkout with the waiter. I am not sure how the URL works with separate checks. He did take two credit cards when closing the check. I loved that the kitchen paced the dumplings and buns one at a time so we could enjoy them rather than a covered table with the food cooling while we consumed the dishes. I really wanted to do an entree but that was not part of our New Year's Day mission. I found each item to be expertly prepared. The soup dumplings did not seem to be as delicate as other places so I was able to successfully transfer the bites to my plate without a leaking dumpling. The flavor profile on each dish was spot on. At one point the waiter mistakenly tried to deliver spicy chicken feet. We looked at each other and for a second I worried that I ordered that by mistake. Haha The jasmine hot tea is $2.50 a pot not per person. We ordered a quantity of two not realizing the pot had several cups and they nicely removed the second pot. They have delicious looking skewers on the printed menu but those are not being served at this time. They do not have this option on the ordering app but promise to serve them after their extended soft opening. The restaurant decor reminds me of Chinese restaurants I went to as a child and they have large round tables for bigger parties. I felt the seating was comfortable. I was surprised this restaurant is not open too long and they already take out the BBQ section skewers from the menu. We got their famous soup dumplings to start. Their store has many flavorful soup dumplings- Xiao long Bao. I like several version of it. We got their three colors and six fortune soup dumplings. Those give us opportunities to try six different soup dumplings. The soup is great. We also got the shrimp dumplings which is big and great taste. The other dish is the shrimp rice paste roll. This one is normal average. The last dish is the pickle veggies fish. It is a good dish but the fish meat is too less for that dish. Our appetizer is the salty soy milk with fried Chinese roll. I came around noon on a Tuesday and there was only one family there. The space was open and neat and I was promptly greeted and seated. The have the QR code on the table for you to choose how many are in your party and place your order. The pictures on the menu were incredibly helpful as I am not familiar with the cuisine but wanted to try something new. I ordered pork and mushroom soup dumplings (6) and pan fried dumplings (6) with the garlic bok choy. The dumplings were soft but sturdy enough that they didn't fall apart when picking them up. Portions seem to be more of a shareable size. Again coming from someone unfamiliar with this type of cooking. From someone with no palate for these lol they were just a tad too sweet for me so the dumplings were not my favorite but you live and learn! Service was prompt and incredibly friendly. The food was solid for Orlando, especially considering how hit-or-miss some places can be. The soup dumplings were good, though I've definitely had better elsewhere (out of state), but they still hit the spot for Orlando. The pan-fried pork bun was decent, but I've had ones that were more crispy and fluffier dough. Still, it wasn't bad by any means. The real standout for me was the beef ho fun. The noodles were thick, chewy, and perfectly seasoned, which really made the dish for me. I'll definitely be coming back for that. Today we tried the beef ho fun as well as the steamed pork buns. Neither are gluten free, just a note for those with gluten intolerance. However, the beef ho fun had a delicious sauce, perfectly cooked vegetables and the noodles reminded my Cantonese guest of her childhood back in San Francisco 80 years ago! She kept talking about walking the streets of San Francisco. The pork buns had a fluffy outside and tasty bbq pork inside. The staff is friendly. One thing to note - the tables have QR codes on them to use to review the menu as well as to order from, however if you are like me and prefer to look at photos and words on a menu, they do have hard copy menus by request.
