I don't usually leave a bad review but I can't let this one go. My wife and I ordered one meat lovers omelette with rye bread toast, one border of the south omelette no olives with one pancake on the side. It took more than 45 mins to receive our food on the table. When I looked at our food quality it was total garbage. Burnt & dried hash browns also omelettes were totally over cooked. Plus they screwed up our orders. I asked for the rye bread toast not white bread also my wife asked the server not to put olives in her omelette but they put a lot of olives in the omelette. Let customers know if you guys are busy or understaffed in the first place. Servers need to check what they are serving and must double check if the order is right before they send out the food to the customer. Also apologize to the customers when you screw up the order. Service, quality of food and time management is totally garbage here. Please do not waste your money and time here. There are far better restaurants out there to treat customers better and serve quality food. read more

I had not been here in 10 years or more because we were seated back then and no waitress came to us for 30 min so we left vowing to not return. The wife went recently and said it was good. Well we went tonight and while the service was good. The food service not so much. I ordered hot turkey sandwich with mashed and vegi. I got Cold Vegi, cold mashed and lukewarm turkey. I sent it back and it took a good 20 minutes to get it back. Wife was done with her dinner. Sandwich had about 1/2 the turkey on it. Wont return. read more

Forget about this place. Whoever purchased it is running it into the ground. We visited a month or so ago on a Saturday night at 7 pm, and we were the only customers! We were given the Greek menu and, when I asked for the diner menu, the waiter said really? Later, when I said I didn't want an alcoholic drink, the waiter said really? This time with disdain. He also kept directing us back to the appetizer menu after we said we didn't want appetizers at least twice. We asked for extra pita, he went directly to the cash register to charge us for it, then went to the kitchen. The portions are very small, and the prices are very high. The waiter was judgmental and creepy, and stared at us and approached us far too often. The food was good, but not worth $100+ for 2 people with no alcohol or desserts. Very said to see Socrates and the diner business model go to ruin. That area of Everett doesn't have room for a snotty Greek place next to a crap bar and an auto parts store. The owners need to re-think literally everything! We will not be back. read more

I've been coming here for fifteen years since I was a kid, the experience has always been wonderful and the food has been phenomenal. That experience changed with today. I stopped in to get breakfast with my father and it took several minutes for a waitress to even acknowledge us. Once they did they took us to a table and left. After waiting several more minutes to even have our order taken we noticed people around us getting seated immediately. Fast forward almost 40 minutes of waiting ( It normally only takes 5-10 minutes ) for our order and EVERYBODY around us has had their food delivered. We asked where our food was and there was no response, no acknowledgement, nothing. We asked for it to go at this point and moved to the waiting area. After ANOTHER 5 minutes of waiting we just gave up and left. I truly hope that this was a one off experience, but it was the worst experience at a restaurant either of us have ever had. read more

I don't know about the food but the owner does not impress me as a person. I was sitting in my car in a parking lot. He open the door of his company branded van hard enough to shake my car and crack the clear coat of the paint. He did not even acknowledge he had done anything. I got out and asked him what the deal was. He was oblivious. I pointed at the damage on the car. He shrugged. "Accident. Not on purpose." And he left. This is one of those places that more or less does the job, and leaves you with nothing to dislike, and nothing specific to really remember, either. There are fancier breakfast places in the area for sure, and there are a couple of middle-of-the-road diner-y places too. This one holds its own, but doesn't rise quite to the top. The food was good, old school American. The reason for only 3 stars is mainly that the service was lousy. My husband had the breakfast plate, "Greek Village" omelet and says it was ok (missing Kalamata olives) and I had the "8oz Grilled Sirloin plate, which was very good. Each meal cost $15.25, which was fair for descent portions. We also had coffee costing $3.25 a cup, which is steep for weak (nothing special) coffee. Unfortunately, our waitress was not very good so coffee was only warmed up once, I believe, and although I would have liked more water... A really great thing about this restaurant is that it was spotless***** Will we return? It will be worth another visit, but no coffee. read more

This was our first time at this place, and as one person said recently it was like an identity crisis, we had a similar experience. I walked in thinking it was 112th diner, and we were handed pizza menus. Then after asking what's up, we were handed Greek menus too. The hours vary for all 3 menu options, so check first before going. Our server/host was Brandon. I will say he is a really nice guy, and we gave him a decent tip, but I was a little put off by how many times he was wiping/itching his nose/face with his hand, and never went to the back to wash the hands, before going to grab our meals. I literally watched him rub at his face over in the "greek section" of the place, head over to grab our meals and set the plates in front of us. You are a nice guy, please do us a favor, wash your hands and keep them off your nose region. It is off-putting and rude to people who will be served by you. The chicken parmesan is in need of something...oh yes! LESS SALT. I am not sure if it was salt, or garlic salt, but whoever is cooking back there really laid it on thick. My husband had the patty melt and it was so-so. It wasn't hot, and didn't seem "fresh." For a $60 meal, it was really underwhelming. I was highly disappointed, live and learn. read more

This is actually our 4th time here. Passed it by many times and finally decided to take a chance. Glad we did! So far everything we've tried has exceeded our expectations. The country fried steak, hot beef sandwich, hot turkey sandwich and club have all been delicious. Service has been friendly and efficient. So why only four stars? Well, as much as everything we've had was tasty and well prepared the mashed potatoes were a bit on the soft side the first few times like it was left in the mixer too long. Tonight's mash was perfect (for us) firm with chunks of potatoes. And of the four times we've dined here we were offered dessert twice (2nd & 4th visit) which I'm assuming is included with our meal which we were told on our second visit. I'd give this no stars if I could. When we were first seated, we were given a booth that was not at least 6 feet away from the table behind us. We moved to a table away from other customers. The coffee was terrible, barely anything but brown hot water. My husband ordered a waffle, I got pancakes. When I say they had no flavor, I'm not exaggerating. They tasted like...well...nothing. Had to ask for real butter because they brought margarine (ewwwwwwww). Service was terrible. My husband sent his food back and the manager never bothered to come ask why. We stopped in here because I was hoping to find an old fashioned Cobb salad or Chef's salad. They had both but, wow!, spendy. $12.95 and $13.95 respectively. I opted for the Cobb salad and it was good, just waaaay too big. I would have loved to be able to order a half and that would have been plenty. The hubby and I tried this great diner for breakfast and it was really good. It is very cute with lots of booths and a bit of a 50s vibe. We came on a Saturday morning and got right in (it is a pretty big diner). We started with a butterhorn and holy cow it was delicious. Soft and warm and sweet. The hubby tried the pork chop special - pork chops, eggs, and hash browns and he really liked it. I got waffles with blueberries and bacon and eggs. Very good. And we split biscuits and gravy. Way too much food but since it was our first time we wanted to try a few things. The gravy was really good with big chunks of sausage and lots of black pepper. The biscuits tasted fresh. The food was delicious. Pancakes are nice and fluffy but the eggs were a little rubbery. Still yummy though. My husband couldn't find a meal of eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and toast on the menu like he was hoping for, unfortunately. That seems like such a basic... why don't they have it? Anyways, I would come here again. I still wish they would spring for real butter and maple syrup. The "Pride Buttery Spread Zero Trans Fat" is a little unnerving... The service was fast in the beginning. Maybe a little too fast. They asked if we were ready about 3 minutes after seating us and then sorta awkwardly hovered a few feet away until we closed out menus. This place has a 50's vibe to it, The food was pretty good but a bit overpriced for a place that does not have medium-rare roast beef for french dips. I had a small lunch portion of london broil, it was fantastic. The mashed potatoes were not too good but the broccoli was perfectly cooked but totally naked and unseasoned. BY FAR, the best part of the meal was the service. We were served by Amanda. She knows everything about the food and how it comes out of the kitchen. She kept the table clear of finished plates through the service and checked in at the absolute perfect times. Wow, it would be virtually impossible to expect better service at a 5-star restaurant! I plan on returning to explore the menu a bit more, and yes, I will ask to sit in Amanda's section. read more

They are average in every way except price. They are sooooo overpriced. The people here are average and occasionally rude. The food is no better than okay. They were better than okay about a year and a half ago. I think they let go of too many people at some point and they've really seen a decline in all aspects of this diner. read more
