    Octoberfest
    Pete J.

Saw this place while in a walking tour. Our guide actually stopped and talked about how it used to be the shoe department of an old store. It's located in the basement on Patton Street, between Farm Burger and a Mexican restaurant. This was our first stop after the walking tour. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a divey, dingy looking place. It wasn't, but looks like it. Kind of dark down there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We only grabbed one drink before moving on, not because of any reason other than we wanted to be somewhere in a certain time. We all opted for an Octoberfest. It was a decent draft. Would definitely visit again.

Deep in the recesses in Asheville, lies this hidden gem. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Since it's hidden, the hobbit like entrance is apropos, just as the dark, dingy atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Great brews, live music, and bar games makes One World a solid choice for beverages in Asheville, would definitely recommend!

One World has been a favorite of mine since New Year's Day 2022 when my soon-to-be husband brought me in! Although we do not live in Asheville, we make it a point to visit as often as possible. If we were residents, this would be where you could find us every week! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Extremely cozy, delicious beer, and such friendly staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Love the range of live music you can catch here - we've heard originals, Grateful Dead covers, everything.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We especially appreciate the gentleman who we see working on Saturday nights - we've had lovely conversations with him and have been fortunate to see him working the past handful of times we've come into town the past year! We appreciate that he recognizes us even though we are just wannabe regulars from Charlotte. Looking forward to our next mugs, flights, and visiting on our upcoming wedding night!

As a Dead-head I loved this brewery. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's down in a basement and not very big[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] but the beer is good, the bar tender was friendly and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the music was great[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. How often do you hear the Garcia/Grisman - Pizza Tapes in a bar? [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plus the bartender's dog is fun to watch. She doesn't do much other than lay there but she's sweet.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]One World gets a 5/5 for ambience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]First of all, getting there and then down to the bottom floor is an experience of its own.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Once you make it down to the tap room, it legit feels like a discrete cellar. It's cool, and quite intimate.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have excellent brews on tap and that adds to the overall experience. I can't recall the name of the exact IPA I enjoyed, but it was memorable enough to want to come back. Service was outstanding. Can't wait to visit again!

This little basement/cellar brewery is a great stop to beat the summer heat. They are pet friendly and our dogs loved cooling down on the cement floors. We always bring a bag with snacks, travel bowl, and water bottles for them, so I would recommend making sure you always carry your own because both times we have visited they have not offered water for the dogs. They have a small offering of beers, but they are good and have a variety of everything. I think they are on the pricier side, but they do come in large beer steins. We ordered a lager and a Hefeweizen and both were good, but I would almost consider the Hefeweizen a sour rather than a true Hefeweizen.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cool brewery in downtown Asheville. It's reminds me of a speakeasy, and a great place to go to if it's a really hot day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Bartender was really nice and gave us some recommendations for good restaurants and live music in the area. We enjoyed the Ashevegas beer and the Citra Bomb, their flagship IPA. Both were very good!

Love the vibes of this brewery! I ended up getting their lighter beer Helles really light and refreshing. It's definitely hidden away but definitely worth a visit! The bartender was super friendly and great to talk with

This was my second time to visit One World Brewing. Located downstairs and in the back corner of a building, it can be difficult to find. The night we went, there were a lot of people there. Luckily there were still two seats at the bar. I have to admit, to me, there beer is just ok. I enjoy porters, stouts as well as European beers. I'm not a big fan of IPAs, but some sours are good. To me, One World's beers are just too hoppy for my taste. On my last visit, I tried their stout, but it was also just too much with a bad piney, dry taste.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Such an amazing vibe, I was surprised how large it was![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]When you first enter it has a speakeasy vibe to it, low lights, they had a game there Sjoelbak, Dutch shuffleboard, it was so much fun you must try it![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Employees were super friendly and helpful, beer was super delicious, not a ton of options, but had enough for everyone to find something liked.

Really Cool basement bar in Asheville. The entrance is semi hidden on a side street and it feels like an adventure to get to it. There are both regular tables and high tops to sit at, along with games to play. While we were there, people we're playing Yahtzee and darts. The atmosphere is dark and stereotypical basement space. You can see the brewing tanks from the seating area which I thought was a fun aesthetic. I'm going to say they're dog friendly since there was a customer at the bar with a very friendly dog. Again, it's a basement space, so maybe not super ideal for pets...? But any place that is dog friendly is fine by me! The beer was great and they offered a wide selection. The friends I was with sampled more beers than I did, but everyone seemed to find a few that they enjoyed. I would recommend this brewery in Asheville.

Very interesting location. Almost like a speak easy feeling. I wasn't a fan of the beer, but my husband enjoyed his beer. I wouldn't return with so many other great breweries in the area!

I love the live music and it's nice that the establishment gives artists and musicians somewhere to perform. The vibe is chill and down to earth. To get to the brewery, you have to walk through a short alley and walk to the basement. Pretty unique place!

Do they allow ESA (small dogs) inside?

Yes. They are generally pet friendly. There was a dog there while we were there and the staff had no problem with it.

Is it kid friendly? Have some family with me... but at the same time I want them to see it. Thanks

They ID at the door so I am not sure they would allow children to enter.

If you are visiting Asheville this is a "must" stop during your stay! Once they opened we went right for the bar to order as it was getting busy with people already on a Tuesday morning! I ordered a flight and my boyfriend had a beer. The server was a little cold. Not necessarily unfriendly just a little curt which was fine maybe she was having a bad day. But I got a pre selected flight and she had me take a picture of the flight list so I knew which beer was which. Idk a lot of other breweries would have wrote it down but a picture works too. We sat outside on their covered patio and watched the river. It started to get really nice out so after that we sat at their turf area and chilled until we were done. We spent a good hour here and just really liked the vibe outside . People had their dogs so we were so watching and in generally very friendly . I took a picture beneath the sign with the bicycles. You can see that on a weekend this place would get crazy busy so it was nice for us to just relax and take in the atmosphere without it getting so crowded. Anyone who is in Asheville should check this place out.

Lot's of eclectic spice and vegetable beers, but the pairings are generally interesting and well done. They also have a few more traditional beer styles, if that's what you're in the mood for. The space is also very nicely done. Plenty of room at the bar. A somewhat dark and muted color tone that created the feel of a slightly rustic and understated space. I liked it. In terms of food, I ordered a mediterranean bowl and was pretty happy with it. Reasonably well presented. Some evidence of investing effort in creating an individualized concept. The ingredients were also very fresh. The toppings also fell within a reasonable balance. It wasn't overwhelming. It wasn't the best salad of this type that I've had, but it made for something crisp and fresh to pair with a pint. All that having been said, my suggestion would be to go for the beer. It's quite possible if I'd have visited during the day that my review would've been 5 stars. However, we came at night (well... winter night it was like 6pm?). It was dark. First, the parking lot. It looked like a scene from a horror movie where everyone gets killed. There was no actual parking lot, just some grass along the road where people were parked. There was a chainlink fence gate that was barely open, with an overgrown sign, and it looked like you were walking into a haunted factory. We walked in the brewery and it was only light by faint lights and candles. We jokingly started calling it the MURDER BREWERY in a spooky voice. I see the beautiful plants in the pictures in reviews here and we saw none of that. I have less-than-stellar night vision and actually held onto my wife's shoulders for her to lead me around. They also have a lot of tables without chairs. Maybe that's trendy, but really I want to sit and chat while I try your beer. I don't want to have to stand around. It cleared out before we left and we got a seat eventually, but the table/chair ratio was way out of whack. All this time and I haven't spoken about the beer yet. It was pretty good. My BIL loved the Mummy Cat. We all had some pretty decent beers. However, we bolted after not too long due to it just not being a great place to hang out in the dark. Our friends enjoyed the photos we took and the catchphrase ANTIQUITY DAWNS AT MODERNITY'S TWILIGHT likely stolen from a 14 year old emo kid's journal that was on their less than useful website.
