Walk in , watch your step it's many dark wall areas decorations, very dark steps so if you're handicap, please do watch out and might need to get some help. I feel that you get to be seated at the table of your choice. The menu options are very clear, but also the same time there's not that many that I feel that are very healthy to pick from and a very actually disappointing that some of the paper is really wrinkle as you're looking at the menu and Vegan selection is not a very bright or a wild factor and I had a salad and I was on a disappointing site. Actually, the salad dressing options can and I'm not even from that state and I feel that the stirfry can be improved. It was very bland no flavor not much texture. It was very boring. i'm always on the hunt for more vegan restaurants, so i was excited to find one world cafe. you have to use the side entrance and it's not immediately obvious where to go. the inside is mostly cute, but i was seated at a table across from the bar which wasn't very cozy. i ordered the triple p curry, which was pretty good! the flavor was definitely good, but it's advertised as crispy tofu and it's definitely not crispy. i also think the curry:rice ratio is a little too high, more rice would balance it out more. the rice is advertised as basmati, but it seemed like it was a different kind of rice. the portion sizes are large enough to take leftovers home. the staff was cordial but not very friendly while i was there, but i wanted to sit and eat with minimal interruptions so that was fine. i've heard their sandwiches are good, and if i go back i will order something else. read more

The prepackaged ingredients were stale, the food was severely overcooked and it took us forever just to capture the attention of a server. We love supporting local businesses but we cannot in good conscience recommend that someone patronize this place. One World is the vegan casual stand-by in Baltimore - for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have a full coffee bar and a full bar. I have been coming here since 2003, and this place is consistent. If you are vegan/veg or are entertaining guests who are, this place should be at the top of your list. This review focuses on their vegan food, but they have a great vegetarian menu that I just haven't sampled in years. Beverages: They have lots of options. I like their soy lattes (see pic). They also have an extensive tea list. You can get lots of good juice, love getting the carrot juice. I haven't really tested out the bar, but by the consistency of its occupancy at all hours, including the AM, I imagine that it's great. Breakfast: Tofu scrambler is a favorite of mine. I suggest adding their salsa which us great. They have great sweet vegan breakfast options (try the vegan French toast!), too, but I am more of a savory breakfast person. Lunch: They have a daily fresh vegan burger that is always awesome - made from scratch. I'll reiterate, the vegan lunch menu is huge. You can get delicious chili, a Philly steakless, quesadilla, nachos, and the list goes on. Don't miss out on the chickn salad when it's on the menu! Dinner: You can get all of the lunch items, and they have a great and varied choice of vegan entrees suitable for date night. I love the enchiladas, and they have great specials - love the sloppy Joe's and vegan stroganoff, to name a few. Dessert: Their vegan desserts are to die for! Robin is their vegan baker, and her cakes are always on point. Do not miss out on the coconut or vanilla cakes (often made with some fruit filling)! The moistness of these cakes will bring a tear to your eye. Service/atmosphere: It's got a laid back college vibe, but the dining room sets the tone for a casual date night. The servers are great, and the food comes out fast and hot (I'm always shocked at how fast). Kelly will treat you like family as do the owners, Cindy and Sue. They accommodate any special request with a smile. Just the staff, service and the vibe are worth coming back here for again and again. And, DO NOT MISS their vegan Thanksgiving! One World Cafe is a quaint little bakery and breakfast spot located right outside of the Doubletree at John Hopkins University. I recently stopped in with some friends on the way back to Hampton Roads from Baltimore. They specialize in vegan/vegetarian options, so the most meat you'll find in one of their entrées is fish (for those that are pescatarian.) I ordered a smoked salmon omelet with cheddar cheese home fries, wheat toast, and a caramel iced coffee with coconut milk. The food could've used a tad bit more seasoning; however, I left feeling, full, satisfied, and energized for the road trip back home. Service was great too, our waitress was helpful and made sure my friends and I were accommodated throughout our meal. There was virtually no wait time for us to be seated and our food came out very shortly after we ordered. All in all, I would have to recommend One World Cafe for anyone looking for a good filling brunch and good fast service. I can't wait to go back and try some of their vegan desserts. This is a great spot to come for veg food in Baltimore. There's plenty of indoor seating divided between the bar, casual tables, and more formal dining tables. There's always eclectic art for sale on the walls and the ambiance always feels cozy because of the partially sunken layout of the restaurant. I have always loved the food here. If you're going to get anything I would absolutely recommend something off their specials menu. Those items never disappoint and are often an interesting take on what you would expect. They have a veggie burger of the day and an otherwise fairly extensive list of options, even a few fish options too. Many of their menu options are plays off of traditionally meaty foods. You can find plenty of options if you're willing to try something new or if you want to play it safe. Their chili is always hearty and filling. Plus, some of the staff here have been here for over 5 years. That really goes to show how great of a place this is. Being here felt like being in a vegetarian version of Monk's from Seinfeld. There are plenty of regulars, the service is great, the vegan baked good selection looked so good (I regret not getting the apple turnover), and the menu has options for everyone. The atmosphere is cool with a nice but small beer selection and judging from the other reviews, the place seems to be popular for coffee as well. Sadly, the food is not great. It is inexpensive for its portion, but inexpensive food should not be equated with dry and below mediocre food. I got the black bean burger and my friend got the black bean cheese quesadillas. The burger was beyond dry, which made me put it down immediately. The chips were also cold and the salsa tasted like canned salsa. Yuck! I think this place has a lot of potential, given its proximity to the Hopkins campus and how it's already on board with being vegan/vegetarian. Do not come if you're a person of color. The employee working the cash register had a very mean demeanor and was rude. I understand everyone has their bad days, but it felt like her rudeness came from of place of racism. When I asked a question about the menu, the cashier answered in a very demeaning way. Despite this, she was very pleasant and jolly to the customers (who were older and white) that came after me. Even though I had intentions of eating my food in the restaurant, my food was served in a To-Go box. The white customers that were served after me were given an actual plate to dine in. Although I feel the coffee wasn't as strong as I'm used to and it was a bite of a chalky taste to both of them. Both were very enjoyable and served with tortilla chips and salsa. I will say, the food was great value for the price. Less expensive than a Panera You-Pick-Two lunch for a full-service experience! My pita was the star of the show, being warmed light and fluffy. The waitress was so kind and professional. Really excellent. And I love the hip interior. I've come here over the years, more recently as a hangout with some book club friends. In general, I've been bowled over by the "meatless" meatball sub, falafel with pita bread and occasional desserts. It's a funky, laid back atmosphere with a combo of Johns Hopkins students at laptops and small groups at the front, bar, near-bar or the lower level space. Tonight I noticed the specials menu and was leaning toward the Roasted Garlic Grilled Polenta with Crispy Tempeh Triangles in BBQ sauce with veggies and creamy coleslaw. However, the bartender/waiter suggested that the seitan was meatier in the General Tso Crispy Seitan with veggies galore, including snap peas (Yay!), broccoli, ginger and basmati rice. And so I did. However, although the seitan had a heavy, beefy taste and the vegetables were OK, I felt the overall taste was...meh, Nevertheless, the homemade tortilla chips and salsa were tasty and hard to stop eating. Next time, I'd go to the homemade guacamole for variety. Major thing: The service adjacent to the bar is never consistent or timely for service or getting the check--one has to take the reins in one's hand sometimes; and the attitude of the servers can be an irritant. However, the food came out in an ordered fashion and he did make the effort to help me decide. Another thing: Wi-Fi sucks here. Shouldn't every cafe attempting any semblance of being a part of modern society have this? Or are we resigned to "hotspots" and xinfinity? I used to go here all the time, my best friend worked there back in 2015 and it was my favorite spot but this server spilled salsa all over my boyfriend and did not even apologize once. She actually just laughed hysterically for like ten minutes and when he was in the bathroom cleaning it off she just looked at me and said it's horrible I'm laughing at his misfortune. . Holy guacamole, this place was a pescetarian delight. I think the only non-strictly vegetarian option they offered was smoked salmon on the breakfast menu. I came in with my friend, and we weren't greeted right away, but when the hostess/server came out from the back, she was apologetic and quick to seat us with cheer and genuineness. It made me forget all about standing around for a few moments. Our food was delicious, the coffee was hot, strong, and consistently refilled, the portion sizes were plenty, and the place is really cute on the inside. Loved the specials menu- we ordered the squash fritters with cantaloupe on spinach and a poppy seed dressing (delicious), followed by our amazing entrees: couscous burger loaded with greens and a delicious vegan aioli sauce and a tofu curry with pistachio rice and curried vegetables.
