Being a diverse group, there was something for everyone: since this is a what you see is what you get style restaurant. The majority ordered what I did: Teriyaki Chicken. This is a thin, grilled chicken breast that has been coated in their house Teriyaki sauce. As you can see in the pic, the chicken has a nice char and then brushed with fresh Teriyaki sauce. I love how the plates are served with steamed cabbage and broccoli, plus the plates are perfect portion size for a single person. I tend to order the additional portions of macaroni salad ne use it's just so good here! My husband really enjoys the Island fire chicken while I enjoy the half teriyaki chicken & chicken katsu. Hawaiian bbq beef and grilled chicken are also fan favorites. We typically order over the phone for pickup. I'm always amazed with the quickness of their turnaround. We live 10 minutes away so by the time I arrive, my order is ready and waiting! I haven't had the chance to dine-in, but regardless of a weekday or weekend, the dining area is typically 3/4 full of folks eating. Everytime I crave for rice and some protein I'm always thinking ono because it's not too expensive and it has the rice and you can literally choose any protein you want. I like the marsh and I like the bbq and I like the short ribs. I'm not a fan of the macaroni but still, you can always switch it out to more rice or not veggies whichever you prefer. I particularly just wanted to have some of the Mac today. The katsu was so crisp and the bbq has so much flavor, and to top it off my aunt ordered our food and it literally took less than 5 minutes for them to bring out or order. It was so quick and I was so glad because I was REALLY hungry. Also they have plenty of parking! So you don't have to worry about that. The food absolutely good and fresh however I can't say the same for the staff. I had pick up order and waited in front of the cashier. Stood there for 3-5 minutes saying to myself " are they going to take my order?. I assumed they were busy , but not one person ( cashier included) acknowledged me or took my order they just kept stocking supplies right in front of me as if I was invisible. As I was waiting another customer walked in behind me and they greeted them ready to take their order instantly moving to the other register complete ignoring me. Very rude and unprofessional. I guess they are selective in who they want to serve. Guess you must fit their type of "aesthetic" in order for them to wait on you. I waited forever for food (they were busy so I get it), but when I checked on my food, I asked her ETA, and she shrugged. So I asked her to check in the back, she said "they're waiting on an item." There never really is a long line of people waiting to order (although this may be different than the line of people waiting for their food...). I always ask for extra sauces and napkins and they were able to accommodate. Cleanliness: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it appeared at the time of the visit that they do not allow indoor dining. They use plastic dividers between the customer and the staff. Due to this, it appeared that the establishment was clean on the inside and no visible trash seen. Avoid ARELLA who works the register!!! I hope the manager sees this because this hasn't been my first experience with ARELLA. She has absolutely no customer service skills whatsoever and makes the visits quite unpleasant. My most recent visit just solidified my decision to not come back to this location. When I walked in there was nobody in line and ARELLA and her male coworker were laughing and acting a bit too comfortable with each other for a professional workplace. I walked up to the register where she was standing since no one was in line and I was not greeted by her or any other staff despite her standing in front of the register. She continued her conversation/flirting with her coworker until I said "Hi". She than looked at me and said absolutely nothing and I found it quite an awkward experience. I than just preceded to say my order and while she was putting it into the system, there was still no words or exchange from her end. Not even a signal to pay, i just observed that the card reader had the prompt. Than once I was done with my order she just said ok here's your receipt & order number. That was it than immediately resumed flirting with her coworker. I witnessed her do this to the next few customers after me while I waited for my food. Honestly at that point just have self service kiosks for ordering because with ARELLA, that's exactly how it feels. No care whatsoever for the customers. Food wise it was ok. Mac salad is always great, but lately noticed the chicken katsu pieces are extremely fatty and don't have much meat.
