I came in ready to test my spice tolerance and ordered their tenders in the Blazin level, (second hottest) and their chicken sando in Punisher, (the hottest they've got). Let me just say... they do NOT play around when it comes to spice. Starting with the tenders: I got them in Blazin', and the color alone lets you know you're in for something serious. The seasoning was deep red and coated generously, and every bite had that signature Nashville style smoky, with that cayenne kick. The heat builds gradually and lingers in the best way. The chicken itself was juicy inside and with a crispy, well seasoned crust that didn't fall apart. You can tell it's freshly fried! Not dry, not greasy, just perfectly cooked. The tenders come with fries and slaw, and I'm glad they do because you NEED the balance. The crinkle-cut fries were hot, crispy on the outside, soft inside, and lightly salted. Simple but done perfectly right. They were perfect for cooling down between bites of the Blazin tenders. The slaw was fresh and slightly creamy to cut through the heat. It wasn't overly mayo heavy, which I appreciated. It actually complemented the spice instead of weighing everything down. Now let's talk about the chicken sando in Punisher. I had to mentally prepare for this one. Punisher is their hottest level, and they mean it! The heat hits quicker and stronger than Blazin and it absolutely lives up to the name. But again, it's not just painful heat, it's also super flavorful. There's that deep chili flavor before the spice fully takes over. The chicken filet was thick, juicy, and perfectly crispy. The bun was soft and lightly toasted. Every bite was intense but addictive. If you love extreme spice challenges but still want quality flavor, this is it. I stopped by this Hot Chicken spot today because I was already in the plaza this store is in to pick up food for my wife. Since I saw this spot and saw their special on the combo, I was interested in trying it. They were not busy at all, when I walked inside I was the only customer. You order from the kiosk here. I selected the combo #1 with the sandwich, fries and a drink. I chose medium spice and a coke. They don't make it until you order it. It took like 10 minutes for my order to be ready. They also don't have coke here even though it was an option so they give me a Pepsi instead. The place isn't big inside, I took my food to go so I can eat at home. Parking is bad here unless you're lucky and come when the plaza not busy. The sandwich was okay, the fries needed more seasoning and the Pepsi tasted kind of flat. It included a No. 3 which was cut Chicken Tender pieces over fries w/ Coleslaw, I got an additional Tender to try - all at the "Mildly Cyrus" level (one level up from no heat). It was one of those Friday nights where I wanted comfort, junk food, but I also wanted to limit my traveling time as much as possible. Since I was in Arleta, Nashville Hot Chicken was the closest restaurant I could get to what I actually wanted (i.e. Hot Motha Clucker fries from the Studio City location). The person I spoke with over the phone to place an order was very nice and provided a quick turnaround time (which was convenient since I was ferociously hungry). I ordered the Nashville Sando Plate ($19.95, not including tax or tip) which includes two fried chicken sandwiches with a side of 5oz fries. If you're pinching pennies or have a relatively "normal" appetite, this could easily be split with another person. Although I was satisfied by the end of my meal, I gave this place a 3/5 for the following reasons: 1. One sandwich had Buffalo Ranch flavor and no heat; this was great! I enjoyed myself. However, the second sandwich was Blazin flavor and hot in terms of heat, but it was OVERSALTED to the point that the food needed to be spit out. The chicken was not dry and the spice level was not too over powering like other spots (got blazing). It had the right amount of pickles, coleslaw and sauce not messy at all. Enjoyed the two hot chicken sandwiches here and walked across the street to a coffeeshop to enjoy them since it's takeout only. They were perfectly crispy and I enjoyed the BBQ sauce the most. The side of loaded fries were pretty good and unique with the coleslaw and chipotle style dressing. The self-ordering is pretty cool too. I also tried a chicken tender, but unfortunately found it to be too salty, so I would skip the tenders personally or suggest they go easy on the salt on those (unless that's the breading).
