There were plenty of meat on these short ribs, enough for several meals. The veggies, steamed rice, and macaroni salad were very tasty as well. I also ordered Spam musubi as well. There are two to an order. The Spam was sliced very thin but seasoned well and tasted almost like bacon. I guess they are maximizing the number of musubis from one can of Spam. Everyone's soiled hands are using the key - even if you wash your hands you are getting them "dirty" again by touching the key to bring back to the front counter. Ono Hawaiian (OH) BBQ is a great place to do take-out. I normally don't dine-in here. My go-tos are their Seafood Mix and Hawaiian BBQ Chicken. Best tasting teriyaki chicken... I don't know what they put in their marinate, but it's just DIVINE! Maybe it's the sugar or honey. Love their Macaroni Salad... don't know what they put in this, but so YUMMY! I don't care for the standard mac 'n cheese, but this macaroni I will eat a truck load's worth LOL... it's that GOOD! Seafood Mix has big butterfly shrimps + good portion mahi fish (I think it's this fish) + teriyaki chicken... what a fantastic combination of seafood and chicken! Crab Rangoon is excellent, too! Staff is friendly and pleasant. Prices have gone up, but what hasn't LOL. Parking is plenty. I'll definitely return for more teriyaki and macaroni deliciousness! Nothing's going to hold me back. I don't usually make a stop in Victorville until I started driving a Tesla. While heading south on the 15, it was a pain in the ass to make that turn onto Amargosa Rd after exiting the freeway at Bear Valley Rd. Although I love to eat at Cracker Barrel, on my most recent trip, I decided to get something quicker here at Ono Hawaiian BBQ after plugging in the car at the nearby Tesla Supercharger. I ordered the kalbi short ribs plate. The guy told me that it would be about a 15 mins wait. That was fine since I had to wait for the car to charge a bit. After getting my receipt, I used their restroom and then found a table to wait for my food. The wait wasn't as long as he had estimated. The food quality and taste was on par with other Ono Hawaiian BBQ locations. Their macaroni salad is always really good! This might very well become one of my regular stops whenever I drive out to Las Vegas or Lake Havasu. read more

Customer service was great the lady at the front who took our order was great in recommending option for being our first time. So paid for 3 meals and a side order of crab rangoons. One of our meals-Hawaii BBQ Mix, which includes the1 Kalbi short rib, beef pieces and chicken. They informed my that they were out of beef. So they still charged me full price of the meal that is 11.79 even though I didn't get the beef. And a side note, the short rib was all fat. So basically I paid full price of beef for more chicken and fat. Very disappointed with my meal today. It irks me that they could've given me a different price and more meat in my riblet. I was famished and in no mood to stomach another round of typical fast food fare. Being late at night and Ono's close to the hotel I am staying out I decided to try it out. As with all restaurants currently in California indoor dining is not permitted and Ono's has no outdoor seating so to go is your sole option. I didn't mind as I was intending on eating and then crashing. The person who took my order was polite. She took it with efficiency and accuracy. I received my order within ten minutes and out the door I went. I thought the shrimp was very good - big pieces, very flavorful. The rice was a little dry but with the ponzu sauce it basically made the rice perfect. I enjoyed it. It felt better than a burger and fries. It was fast, delicious, and not greasy. Sometimes for a fast food establishment, a five star rating is not likely because you're not getting the all out table service and attention you expect from a server, but at this Ono Hawaiian BBQ location, I think they are doing it right. From being greeted pleasantly and being offered a paper to go menu for ease of selecting what we want to placing the order, then having our order ready in a timely manner, the staff here has met 75% of what I expect for a fast food restaurant. The food was prepared exactly as we ordered it and tasted as I hoped for. I hope that they continue this excellent customer service especially if their flow of customers increase. The location being new was very clean and well kept. Let's just hope it continues. We'll definitely return to this location on a regular basis since it's much closer then the Apple Valley location. read more
