We drove there and found a small restaurant in a strip mall shopping center tucked away between several other restaurants. The restaurant appears to be clean, modern and casual. There were plenty of tables and seating. The menu on the wall had all the prices scratched our so there is no telling what the prices are. Our order for 3 with one summer roll, one soup, and two dinners was $60. It took about 20-25 minutes for the food. They brought it out to the car where we were waiting which I felt went above and beyond. Thank you for that. I had the long rice soup. The broth was great but the chicken pieces had no flavor. My one regret is not having pictures of our dinner. We visited for my brother's birthday as a party of 17, and they could accommodate us. We were there during their peak time, and they handled the rush well. Although there were tons of orders to prepare, the quality of the food was not compromised. We ordered a ton of food but the ones everyone enjoyed the Thai Fried Chicken and the beef panang of all the 10+ things we ordered. Also, if you order the papaya salad their spice level is "Thai spice" medium could not be handled by some of our spicy noodle eaters if that helps. read more

This was our first experience dining in at Ono Thai and enjoying the food fresh from the kitchen was a treat! Our takeout has always been delicious, but there's something about Thai food that just takes better piping hot and not from styrofoam. We went with dishes we hadn't tried before (somehow I survived without pad Thai!) and enjoyed the fresh flavors of each one. What really made it special was the service. Our waiter was nice and polite, but it was when the owner came over to take our order as he was taking a phone order that the experience really was unique and exceptional. I had Ono Thai for the first time last week and was left feeling very satisfied! I ordered the green curry with chicken, summer rolls, and cucumber salad and it was all so very delicious. The ordering over the phone was quick and helpful, and the service at the restaurant for pick up was friendly and easy going. I'd like to dine in at some point too, because the inside is really cute! My only qualm is that it's the only place where I've never gotten white rice with the curry. I guess I needed to order it separately, but now I know for next time! read more

Sometimes you find the best restaurants in secluded off the beaten path areas... Ono Thai located deep in Ewa right behind the 7-11 across from Shiros right next to L&L in a small stripmall. A small restaurant (thats has real good aircondition) and around 10 tables seating around 40 people. Its obvious this place is really popular just by observing alot of locals doing take out throughout our dining experience. Their menu (really nice menu books) has a variety of soups.. salads... rice dishes etc...at very affordable prices with decent portions. The wait wasnt too long and the food was tasty. Been eating here for a while, Ewa usually didn't have much of a selection and Ono has been a welcomed addition for some time. The Pumpkin Curry with a side of sticky rice is my girlfriend's favorite, I like the Pad Kee Mao, my daughter loves the basil fried rice and the boys always get the fried chicken which is a gargantuan portion worth sharing as an app (but they order as entree's) service is good despite them usually being slammed during dinner hours. They've held their own even with more offerings finally opening up in the area, it's still a delicious option. It's a small no frills dinning room but it's cozy and clean. read more

Ono Thai is definitely a hole in the wall. Located behind several buildings deep in Ewa beach you would never thing of a Thai restaurant here. My absolute fav that no other Thai restaurant carries is the JUNGLE CURRY. The broth is so rich and creamy. You can decide between chicken, pork, or shrimp. We usually get shrimp. Some of the veggies included are Thai Basil, green beans, and bamboo shoot. The veggies and broth are in total harmony in this dish. The service is 3/5 but the food is 4/5. First time here and as soon as I walked in, it felt like a clean authentic Thai Restaurant. The waitress there was really nice too. Not sure if she is the owner. The Pad Thai is honestly the best I've ever had. The noodles were chewy and full of flavor. I normally don't crave pad Thai, but after eating theirs, I can't wait to eat it again. Their fried chicken is such a big serving that the entire family can eat and still have leftovers. It was crispy and the meat was juicy. I don't know how they did that. It was really good! I'm not much of a Thai food fan but this place has got me thinking. We decided to dine in at about 6 pm. There weren't many people so we got seated immediately. We received the menu and a water pitcher accompanied with a cup of ice. While we browsed the menu, I noticed many people taking out and picking up their phone orders. The food has got to be good with so many takeout orders. We started off with their appetizers. We ordered the Thai Fried Chicken "Gai Tod" ($12.95) and their Fried Calamari "Plah Muek Tod" ($12.95). The portions for the appetizers looked big so we just ordered the vegetable and tofu Pad Thai ($13.50). This is definitely more than enough for a party of 2. The calamari came out first. It was fresh out the fryer and crisp to perfection. The Thai sweet chili sauce was flavorful and went well with the calamari. The chicken came out shortly after and that plate was LOADED. I'd say there was 10 or more pieces. Again, chicken was freshly cooked and the skin was crispy while the meat was soft and juicy. It came with the same Thai sweet chili sauce as the calamari. Lastly was the Pad Thai. The noodles was not dry and very tasty. The sauce they used is very different from other Pad Thai's I've had. The peanut crumbs weren't overpowering as well. Vegetables were cooked and the fried tofu was pretty good. There is also a bit of scrambled egg thrown in so that was nice. We weren't able to finish all the chicken so we got a takeout box. Calamari and Pad Thai were mopped. We wanted to try their fried ice cream but unfortunately they did not have any. Other than that the food was great and service was good. There was only one server but he did a great job handling the few tables, phone calls and takeout orders. Will for sure come back to try their different choices of curry and Pad Thai. read more

Wow. I can see why this place has gotten rave reviews - both on Yelp and by word of mouth. A friend of mine visits Thailand yearly, and she said this place is the closest you can get to what she's had in Thailand. I've never been to Thailand, but I trust her word. Everything I had today was on point, and definitely want to come back to try everything else. Today my fam and I got the fried chicken, tom yum with shrimp, pad thai with chicken, and nam kao. My fave was the pad thai, super flavorful, perfectly balanced with sweet, savory, salty. Next time I'd ask for it spicy. What makes it diff is they use bbq chicken, which adds another dimension of flavor. Other places have pre-boiled chicken or chicken stir fried into the dish. While it works, Ono Thai's version does it better. Thai iced tea was also great. We were all so full, so we split one among the three of us. We loved that it wasn't too sweet. Ono Thai is hole-in-the-wall spot deep in Ewa Beach that serves great thai food for take-out and dine-in! I called for takeout and my order was ready for me 25 minutes later. Here's my order: Chicken Pad Thai Stuffed Chicken Wings Green Curry with fish (2) orders of sticky rice. When I got to the restaurant, I noticed that it didn't come with rice already so I added the 2 orders of sticky rice without and issue! The staff here is really friendly and accommodating. The chicken pad thai was my favorite because it wasn't overly saucy nor overly fried- just perfect! The stuffed Chicken wings were so crispy and even tasted great the next day as leftovers. The green curry had lots of veggies and felt very healthy. My only issue is that you couldn't choose your spice level. I think that my thai food could've used a bit more spice all around. Pad Woon Sen can be a little mild flavored so we asked to make it medium spicy -- it was perfect! Both dishes complemented each other very well. ***2.75 STARS*** Did you ever have a nice dinner with great company and tasty food only to have this offset by bad attitude from ONE person that makes you wonder if it's worth it to come back again? One of my foodie friends really likes Ono Thai (OT) and highly suggested we come here for our monthly gatherings. OT? Never heard of the place before. I look it up and it's all the over in Ewa Beach. Very deep down (over 1 mile) Fort Weaver Rd from the H-1 5A Exit. Thank goodness for GPS. I would have probably gotten lost. I met up with my foodie friends made from Yelp for the monthly get together. As I arrived for our 7pm reservation, the restaurant was FULL. I noticed some chairs on the side with multiple bags of take out. A very good sign and promising. We dined family style and ordered 10 dishes (9 + 1 add on) plus steamed rice and sticky rice. The food was very tasty. Many winners, such as the stuffed chicken wings, fire clams, cashew chicken, squid and shrimp stir fry and drunken noodles. But the standout dish was the Thai Fried Chicken. It was so good we added on another order. The chicken is deep fried fresh with a very crunchy exterior. A slight hint of lemongrass and not greasy nor oily at all. I enjoyed gnawing on the chicken bone as others were content with the boneless pieces. Chad was our main server and despite a full house, he did his best to serve us. However, as the main dishes all came out and about halfway through eating l, we noticed our rice and sticky rice didn't arrive. There was a young female with long hair who obviously represented the restaurant as she was going back and forth from the kitchen to cashier, with the extent of opening the drawer under the cash register. We flagged her down to ask about our rice and she bluntly replied "I don't work here. You have to ask one of the boys." and walked away. Guess where she went after saying that? Behind the open door into the kitchen. WTH... A handful of us were appalled of her attitude. Sadly, this left a strong impression with most of us as this was such a major turnoff and outright RUDE. As the crowd died down, we confronted Chad and inquired who is this young female. Apparently, there are 2 owners of OT. Chad is the son of one owner and the female is the daughter of the other owner. This young female needs an attitude adjustment. Instead she could have easily told us "Let me send one of the waiters over, one moment please." Most of our party of 13 live in town and we drove all the way over to Ewa Beach to have dinner. Who would want to come back and patronize OT after being so rudely treated? Overall, a very tasty dinner with a bad aftertaste of rudeness. I tried to forget that incident but as we changed venue to have dessert, the subject of the young female popped up several times.
