***2.75 STARS*** Did you ever have a nice dinner with great company and tasty food only to have this offset by bad attitude from ONE person that makes you wonder if it's worth it to come back again? One of my foodie friends really likes Ono Thai (OT) and highly suggested we come here for our monthly gatherings. OT? Never heard of the place before. I look it up and it's all the over in Ewa Beach. Very deep down (over 1 mile) Fort Weaver Rd from the H-1 5A Exit. Thank goodness for GPS. I would have probably gotten lost. I met up with my foodie friends made from Yelp for the monthly get together. As I arrived for our 7pm reservation, the restaurant was FULL. I noticed some chairs on the side with multiple bags of take out. A very good sign and promising. We dined family style and ordered 10 dishes (9 + 1 add on) plus steamed rice and sticky rice. The food was very tasty. Many winners, such as the stuffed chicken wings, fire clams, cashew chicken, squid and shrimp stir fry and drunken noodles. But the standout dish was the Thai Fried Chicken. It was so good we added on another order. The chicken is deep fried fresh with a very crunchy exterior. A slight hint of lemongrass and not greasy nor oily at all. I enjoyed gnawing on the chicken bone as others were content with the boneless pieces. Chad was our main server and despite a full house, he did his best to serve us. However, as the main dishes all came out and about halfway through eating l, we noticed our rice and sticky rice didn't arrive. There was a young female with long hair who obviously represented the restaurant as she was going back and forth from the kitchen to cashier, with the extent of opening the drawer under the cash register. We flagged her down to ask about our rice and she bluntly replied "I don't work here. You have to ask one of the boys." and walked away. Guess where she went after saying that? Behind the open door into the kitchen. WTH... A handful of us were appalled of her attitude. Sadly, this left a strong impression with most of us as this was such a major turnoff and outright RUDE. As the crowd died down, we confronted Chad and inquired who is this young female. Apparently, there are 2 owners of OT. Chad is the son of one owner and the female is the daughter of the other owner. This young female needs an attitude adjustment. Instead she could have easily told us "Let me send one of the waiters over, one moment please." Most of our party of 13 live in town and we drove all the way over to Ewa Beach to have dinner. Who would want to come back and patronize OT after being so rudely treated? Overall, a very tasty dinner with a bad aftertaste of rudeness. I tried to forget that incident but as we changed venue to have dessert, the subject of the young female popped up several times. The exotic jungle curry wasn't overly spicy, just right for someone who loves eating spicy dishes. Must add on that sticky rice to make it authentic. Located deep in Ewa beach, this place is worth the drive. Located across the street from the post office behind Pizza Hut area there is tons of parking. Their portions and prices are great. Ambiance: The restaurant has a nice neural paint color on the walls and beautiful artwork. Food/Drinks: I feel like we ordered the entire menu. Lol. In actuality, we ordered over 10 items on the menu; papaya salad, summer roll, spring roll, stuffed chicken wings, calamari, chicken satay, sticky rice, green curry, pad Thai, Thai udon soup, Thai halo halo and fried banana ala mode. My favorite dish was the Pad Thai and the stuffed chicken wings. I recommend asking for medium for papaya salad and have it Lao style. The green curry was tasty but I didn't care for bamboo shoots in it. The udon soup was a chicken soup with noodles of course Thai style. I tried the Thai iced tea and Thai iced coffee. Delicious! Prices: The prices are comparable to other Thai restaurants in the area. Most dishes averaged around $10. Service: Great service! They were able to accommodate and serve our family of 10. Yummy thai food. Discovered this place today usually eat in Waiphu but this place is a gem! Pad Thai is good but the yellow panang is the best. So onolicious. Ordered for coworkers as a treat after doing a great job after a busy shift and the food did not disappoint us. Summer rolls are huge! i had tasted better ones so giving it a 4. First of all, I love Thai food! So spicy, so fresh! Living on the west side I always thought Thai Lao was the only awesome Thai place in the area. I was wrong! Ono Thai is equally as delicious as its Kapolei counterpart! I'm off work and decided to try BiteSquad. Ono Thai was the most appetizing restaurant on their site. I ordered the Thai fried rice with pork, the Tom Yum Soup with chicken and the Pad Woon Sen (glass noodle) - all dishes were DELISH! I tried a local and random restaurant off of yelp. Our Kapolei Resturant closed at the start of COVID. So we found one hidden in the bavk of Ewa. We ordered a A variety of dishes, including spring rolls our favorite. The servers were wearing mask and pleasant. The Restaurant was small and they weren't allowing eating inside. This is when they started doing the restrictions of Restaurants in hawaii. When I get home, my husband unwrapped the spring rolls and and looked inside there was a pile of dust and dirt. (You know When you go behind your TV stand or your couch, and you see a collection of dust, that stuff). I'm assuming, the Spring rolls fell on the floor and they continue to served it to us, instead of making a new batch. I would've made a big stink and return the food. Hands down, the best Thai place on west side! I have been here numerous times and never get disappointed. They are really busy, particularly with takeout orders but they are really attentive. Everything is great but some of my favorites are: red curry, green curry, spring rolls, chicken basil. What I love about this place is their veggies are so fresh! The restaurant is very clean as well. They have lunch specials but it is not that big. I think they have 4 dishes, comes with spring roll or soup, and rice. We ordered angel wings, Tom ka soup, garlic stir fry with chicken, and pineapple fried rice with shrimp and beef. All the food was good. Here is where they lost a couple stars. Our garlic stir fry with chicken arrived first and with no side rice. (Have to order it separately apparently) which is fine considering we did order pineapple fried rice. But we ate almost half before the pineapple fried rice arrived. And what's odd is the angel wings were ordered as an appetizer and arrived third followed by the soup. We kinda expected the angel wings to arrive before anything else and or maybe the soup since it's already cooked but these items arrived last... But like I said. I'd come back since the food was delicious but hopefully if order an appetizer it would arrived first... The place was busy and had a lot of to go orders and orders to be delivered so maybe this was part of the problem and every one has an off night so hoping that was partly to blame. Garlic stir fry sauce was delish. If they sell this in a bottle, I'll carry it around and pour it on my fries, rice, potatoes & waffles. Pineapple fried rice was yummy as well. Angel wings was ok - probably won't order it again when we come back. Tom kha soup was flavorful tough it had a lot of mushroom and onions. I like mushrooms but it was too much. My favorite Thai spot on this side of the island. Ono Thai is a hole in wall joint that specializes in delicious Thai food. Prices are affordable especially with the amount of food you're getting at. The stellar dish from them has to be their fried chicken. Packed with so much flavor and so crispy, that I find it addicting eating this. Their drunken noodles is my other favorite dish. Wow. That was my reaction after the first bite. After finding out another Thai restaurant in ewa closed, I was on the hunt for another option. Good ole Yelp came to the rescue once again. I called ahead for takeout, the gentleman on the other side of the phone was friendly. If you aren't familiar with the area the best description would be behind 7-11. The roads are a bit weird back there but you'll eventually figure it out. I've had lots of Thai food and I usually don't venture away from a curry, pad Thai, and fried chicken. I prefer my food spicy, but in this case the flavor was so rich that it would've been just as good without any spicy flavor. We ended up with the yellow curry with chicken, spicy, and Thai fried chicken. Both were amazing but the curry was the star. It didn't go overboard on the coconut milk, more importantly you can taste the curry. It was rich and flavorful. As a cherry on top the spice was perfect. Hot but not too hot where you are suffering. Also, the spice lasted for a bit but didn't follow you on the way down. The chicken was ridiculously crispy. It was probably chicken thighs chopped up Katsu style then fried so it was juicy, crispy, and tasty. Long story short it was great and I'm definitely coming back. read more

I like the food here because it's consistent. One of my go tos is the fried chicken. Seasoned well and crispy--yum! And so many stir fry dishes, i've tried most and it's all good. the Jungle Curry never disappoints, as well as panang. Service is straight to the point and cordial. if you need something you may half to flag then down because it's usually the same guy that is handling the register. Ambiance is ok. I've always ordered takeout but have yet to dine in, the other day I was craving some stir fried noodles so we decided on Ono Thai. Usually we order from Royal Thai which is closer to our house but only a block over you'll find Ono Thai. We wanted to support as many local businesses that stayed open as we could. Previous times I've ordered the papaya salad lao style for take out, It wasn't as Lao style as I'm used to. It didn't have a strong dark, funky, salty fermented fish sauce flavor. Which I love, and I ended up having to adjust It at home anyways. So I could've made It myself lol Recently I ordered pad see ew and pad kee mao (drunken noodles) for my husband and I. It was ready for pickup about 20 minutes later which was nice! I wasn't asked a spice level and actually forgot to mention It when I had ordered the drunken noodles but I figured maybe there was just a "standard" level if It wasn't specified. So I guess It'll just be a surprise lol. Not a big deal if It wasn't spicy enough for my liking because the perks of being home is that I could alter It with whatever I have! To my surprise, the drunken noodles had a really good spice level. Just enough kick to boost the flavor, but not spicy enough to where my husband couldn't eat It. His spice tolerance isn't as high as mine! I love the fresh flat rice noodles. The pad see ew was pretty standard. The highlight was really the pad kee mao, with that bright basil, salty, spicy balance. I ordered It with beef, and the beef was a little tough though.
