We enjoyed this soft serve shop. They had Ube, Coconut, and an Apple Pie special for July 4th. The toasted marshmallow on the cone is delicious. And we both agreed Coconut was the best flavor. We also took pints Pandan, and Yuzu home to try. Yuzu was an intense lemon sorbet. Pandan was a creamy nutty, vanilla, green flavor. The black cones are nice and crunchy, they remind me of brown sugar/caramel flavor. The shop is cool retro 80's. There is a green area and they provide blankets for ice cream picnics, a nice touch. Worth a visit. Their neighbors are a Thai place, a Ramen place, and a Mexican place. And now we want to try those. Nice area for a lunch date.

very unique and fun place to try, we all loved the flavors we got and found them interesting, big portions in my opinion. the woman behind the counter knew what she was doing and served us fast. inside is cold with fun lighting and music, they even have picnic style blankets if you want to sit out on the turf courtyard.

A fun space with delicious ice cream! I like how the menu changes weekly. They also have coffee!

Not your typical ice cream spot but definitely a must try. Decided to go with the Onyx Coconut and Ube with the torched cone. Since it was our first try, staff was very good at explaining all our options. Even stepped out to show off toasting the marshmallow cone. Entire place has a low light vibe but not too dark. Great break from the sun.

Very unique ice cream! Was not expecting to like this place but went with my girlfriend anyways and honestly was surprised by how good it tasted. Service was okay, the girl behind the counter didn't say much but was kind. Love the vibe of the restaurant though, very low light / neon greenery vibes. Not a vegan ice cream guy but honestly will probably comeback at some point.

I dream about this ice cream!!! Checked it out while I was in town and it was incredible!! Barista/Server was super sweet and friendly. Love the flavors and coffee was great too! Great pick me up before we headed to the airport.

Oynx Coconut ($9) was just ok

This was a tiny ice cream shop located in a small plaza Parking was limited since their parking lot didn't have many spots and the lot is shared with a few other businesses. However, there is street parking available Service was friendly and welcoming. Pricing was a little expensive. Expect to pay $9 for a scoop of ice cream and matcha/coffee drinks were $4-$7 Got the Ube & Thai Tea Soft Serve ($9) - the ice cream was very sweet and creamy. The flavor of ube was quite subtle. For $9 for a scoop of ice cream, I would have expected it to have a richer ube flavor. The Thai Tea was just as disappointing and couldn't taste the flavor of Thai tea at all. This was 6/10 The Oynx Coconut ($9) was very sweet and didn't have much of a coconut flavor. It was extremely black so expect to have a black tongue after! This was 6/10 Most likely won't return or recommend unfortunately.

I love Oxyx! I went twice while visiting Phoenix and did not disappoint! My favorite was the Ube!! 10/10 recommend.

Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon while out doing a little bit of shopping. I saw this spot had some unique ice cream flavors and black ice cream cones, so we wanted to try it out. The Ube/Onyx Coconut swirl was a delicious flavor combo, the ice cream itself was just the right consistency and really hit the spot on a hot day. The cones were a bit hard, so I think if we stop by again three our of the four of us would get a cup instead. The addition of adding on toasted marshmallows is a nice touch, it smelled great and my mom loved it on her cone. My daughter tried the sea salt. It was pretty tasty as well, the salt wasn't overpowering. The décor inside is fun & cozy, when we stopped by there was no one else there so we had our choice of seating.

The soft serve here is very good but I wasn't super in love with the iced onyx matcha I'd gotten (though it came highly recommended by the server). It was very floral-y and kind of bitter. The matcha flavors didn't come through very well for my tastes. Would come back for ice cream if I was in the area! If you're sensitive to food dyes or colorings you may want to avoid this place though!

ONYX Ice Cream is serving up unique and flavorful ice cream in the Phoenix area. This spot is located in a smaller plaza with some parking spots. There is also additional street parking and parking in nearby lots as well. Inside, they have a colorful and modern setup with a couple tables for seating. For their menu, they have their current ice cream flavors along with some drink options too. Wifey and I stopped by to briefly escape the AZ heat and opted for the Ube + Onyx Coconut Ice Cream with the Toasted Marshmallow Blackened Cone. Overall, we enjoyed the light and refreshing flavors of the ice cream. This was a great place to come grab a sweet treat to escape the heat for a while. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. Make sure to stay connected with their social media to see when they rotate and introduce different flavors!

This place was fun, I really loved the colorful, modern decor around the shop. I came here with a friend on a Tuesday evening, and we were the only ones there. The owner was there and answered all of our questions and made some recommendations too! I decided to try the Thai Tea and Ube combined flavors. I also got the burnt marshmallow topping on the cone and that was really delicious! The ice cream was good! I also ordered the saguaro flavored ice cream to go, which was dairy free and that was actually my favorite flavor! There was a courtyard outside where people could hang out. Parking was available out front, but it might be harder to find parking when it's busier. Can't wait to come back!

Been going here for the past few months and it has been consistently good. Their ube js one of the best in the valley imo. The texture is also really nice. Their menu does have rotation from time to time from yuzu to thai tea and I recommend asking for a sample.

So when you walk in you grab your tray or to go container and some tongs and then you can meander around a look at the goods before making your selection which you then get yourself. Everything looked so good I was practically drooling! After making my selection of an almond croissant and a coffee cronut I made my way up to the counter. I also ordered a korean iced milk coffee -- no idea what it was but sounded good! I took everything to go and when I got home I jumped right into the croissant -- it was almost as hard a rock! It tasted good but it also tasted a day old, which was very very disappointing! The coffee cronut was good too -- it had many layers and was very rich. The coffee cream on it was average -- just basically didn't taste as good as it looked. Unfortunately I can never get those calories back, LOL. The Korean iced milk coffee was good but honestly couldn't taste a difference from regular coffee. Overall the presentation was top notch but the actual tasting experience was less than average. Please offer wooden stirrers to guests and bonus points for a real spoon for those of us who don't want a paper cup. It really makes a difference. It would be criminal to use plastic. The (Sort Of) Almond Croissant An almond croissant is the secret test. It's like tasting vanilla at an ice cream store. Forget the others. This is the litmus. But before we talk almond, I had to do a double take on the receipt that thankfully I emailed myself. Because is this in Soho? West Hollywood? The Bay? How did this turn out to be $14? Because the almond croissant is $7. Say again. Never mind the best croissant spot in the West Village is less than that, but I took a bite, and oh my. I almost got up and said something. But I really was not in the mood. I had other things to attend to. Where do I start. Well, there was barely an almond to speak of. Hint of almond. The paste was like a disappearing act. But that I can handle. It was the texture. It was hard. Tasted old. Bland. Forgotten. Like someone forgot about the almonds, forgot them in the car. It was July 4th, and they remembered. I've had better croissants at airports. Ok, in the EU but you get the point. Did I just choose the wrong pastry, or the wrong day? They all looked pretty. Everyone got the berry thing. The Table My table was wobbly. Not awful but enough to be annoying. Between that and my phantom $7 almond croissant. The one left behind before someone remembered the almonds. That one. Can anyone use one of its cousins to hold up this table and fix this wobble? Might have been a better idea than breakfast. The Restroom Ok, cute idea to have a kitchen utensil as the restroom key. Nifty thought. Here's another. Can the liquid dispenser for soap be repaired or replaced? That too is wobbly and broken. You see the theme here. And dry hands. The (Bare) Display Case I had read about sandwiches. I love me an egg salad. The display case was bare. Maybe M-F? Lots of (plastic) pellegrinos. No Perrier or other sparkling in a real glass bottle. And definitely no Orangina. The Plants The plastic plants on each table. For the outdoors, sure. For an indoor French cafe table with $7 croissants, not so much. The theme again. The Staff They seemed stressed. I don't know why. When I ordered I felt more tension and rushed then a my corner pizza shop in NY. I don't get it. They tried though. Like it feels serious. High stakes. No smiles. All three not one smile. An Encore? Maybe. Overall, maybe. I don't know if I chose the wrong pastry and the wrong day. Could it be that. The Bread The bread looked good. I will give it that. And more expensive than my local bakery in NY. My Orwashers loaf purchased weekly is $12. And the slice it. And bigger. And they smile. But maybe if the bread is good, I am happy. It's hard to find good bread in Phoenix let alone this area. The Menu Please have it displayed somewhere with prices. Think that's a professional courtesy. I went online to see the menu from my phone. Or even a code to link. But something. A strange visit. Quite different than expected. I had hoped. Now I don't know. If anyone of the items mentioned are addressed for the next visit, whether the wobbly table, wooden stirrer or real spoon, or restroom soap, or even better a smile, or an almond more, I'd be vastly delighted. I'd love for this to work. There is time.

My coffee passport brought me to this very unique cafe on the way to my 2nd appointment and I couldn't be happier about my experience, and I was able to release my stress after this short visit. Granted parking was limited (because I didn't know that I could park at those gas pumps lolll), I got a warm, spacious welcome as soon as I walked into the cafe. The vibe is cozy. I felt like I'm in a little town's gathering spot. I could also sense so many creative minds joining force to make this space colorful. I love the paintings, the stickers, the decoration, and the overall flow of the cafe. The old school cash register was too cute!! Free WiFi is a plus!! I ordered a Cubano coffee because it was their signature drink. It hit the spot!! With this being my first time, I got a punch card (yay!!) and they generously offered a homemade pastry to go with my drink. My jaw dropped. This is the richest and tastier brownie I've tasted in a while. The saltiness offset the chocolate richness perfectly! Also, imagine every single bite is an edge piece!! Mind-blown!!! I wish I lived closer because this place would so be in my coffee run rotation. Until next time!

I got a blended chai, asiago bagel with cream cheese, and cinnamon roll. I like super sweet drinks and read that the chai can be spicy so I asked for it to be sweetened; I might try it without next time because it was plenty sweet and the best chai I've had in Phoenix. Also the best bagel I've had here - fresh, super cheesy, perfect balance between soft and cheesy. The cinnamon roll was because they didn't have cupcakes but it worked out. It was soft and smothered in incredible cream cheese frosting. I live within a block of 4 coffee shops downtown and will happily drive here from now on for my weekend treat. Plus, from their Instagram, I support their values and advocacy. A new favorite!

Not to mention, plenty of parking in the back, easily accessible and near the entrance. I ordered a brown sugar sage latte with oat milk. I forgot to ask for half sweet, but no need for the special order because the flavor was well balanced and not overly sweet! Well crafted flavors, I'd totally get it again. Working here was awesome too. Music was not too loud or distracting. Everyone here spoke at a respectful volume. I'm coming back next time!

Fantastic Atmosphere and Workspace in Midtown, but Mind the Peak Hours…read more My friend and I visited this cafe on a mid-week afternoon looking for a productive spot to get some remote work done, and it proved to be an excellent choice. Logistically, midtown traffic in this area is a well-known hurdle, but the dedicated parking lot located directly behind the building makes arriving by car much easier. Inside, the design and atmosphere are an absolute vibe. The mismatched furniture, abundance of indoor plants, and view of the green canopy outside provide a perfect, refreshing escape from the summer heat. The menu is varied and high-quality. I ordered a matcha latte, which was excellent and refreshing, while my friend opted for a lunch sandwich and a latte. For true coffee enthusiasts, they also sell specialty house-roasted coffee beans retail, including a Guatemalan Antigua and another select house blend. The lounge offers plenty of comfortable seating tailored for focus and productivity. While the pricing is slightly higher than your average coffee shop, the exceptional atmosphere and amenities justify the cost. One quick tip for remote workers: The environment shifts noticeably after 4:00 PM. The space can become quite loud with patrons taking phone calls or conducting 1-on-1 meetings at adjacent tables. If you plan to work through the late afternoon, I highly recommend bringing a pair of noise-canceling headphones to remain undisturbed.
