I've been looking for a place to go near my home and decided to try this one today. I was greeted once I entered and had to wait about 30 minutes. When it was finally my turn, the guy who sat down seemed like it was such an inconvenience for him to do my nails. Maybe he was having a bad day? When I showed him the picture it sounded like he muttered "oh sh**" and sighed. He was kinda aggressive when filing my nails and when it was time to cute the tips I was a little nervous to ask to go shorter. I tried to be polite and smile but he just looked annoyed the whole time. I wanted an ombré look and ended up with more of a line/fade thing going on. I came here on a Sunday randomly because it was close, and a lot of places are closed on Sunday. The interior is very nice and clean. However, I didn't love how my nails turned out. They were very busy, and I could tell the girl working on my nails was in a rush. I don't like that they nickel and dime you to death here. You will end up paying more than their listed prices with no explanation of why from them. You will wait to be seen even if you make an appointment. It is difficult to make your next appointment when you call because they won't answer their phone. The place is not clean enough for me because on several occasions I was the very first customer when they opened for business and they sat me in pedicure chairs that were dirty and in manicure chairs that had dust all inside the seats which means they obviously do not have a janitorial service come and clean after business hours. Yuck! Makes me question how clean are their tools they use on your toes and fingernails. Hmm? I saw her two weeks ago and had a manicure and pedicure and I'm not lying when I say it was the best service I have ever received. The pedicure was relaxing and my toes looked amazing. The manicure was even better! She made my natural nails that aren't the greatest look stunning. The service was exceptional and they were so friendly! I strongly recommend giving this place a shot. I just went back in today for a new color for a wedding this weekend and walked out in 45 minutes with nails that look awesome! read more

Went to this location to get my eyebrows waxed. Immediately greeted upon entering which is great. My wait was short, it was $12 to get my eyebrows waxed. My brows aren't sisters. They're different widths, and there are gaps at the top. There are gaps underneath and the ends aren't clean. As someone who frequently gets manicures, I would highly recommend Top Q because I had an amazing experience! If there was an option for more stars, I would go higher than 5! Quynh was extremely friendly and nailed the design I wanted! I think my nails look even better than the picture I showed her. There was also no wait time, which was a plus. I've never felt more welcomed in a salon. Sometimes at other locations I have felt rushed or like I'm a hassle, but this was the complete opposite at Top Q! This is my go to for a nice atmosphere and mani/pedi. If you make an appointment you aren't kept waiting, which makes this girl happy. They've always been wonderful at seating people of the same party together if you pre-schedule. They have a good selection of polish and gel based polish colors. Not the best place for nail designs I've been too, so if you're going for something really fancy I would ask beforehand if they are able to do it. But other than that I have nothing negative to say about this place, the staff is always friendly and fast...and love their comfy chairs while getting a manicure. read more

Okay honestly where do I start. I went here before and Katie had painted my nails a coral color, then starts (without me asking) putting a weird design on it. Pictured below. I didnt say anything when I was there cuz I felt bad, I get my nails done all the time and never ran into a place that does designs on your nails without you asking. So I went back the next day and got a color change, which I was charged $10 for. Didn't do back there until the other day (my new places was closed for Memorial Day) to get the yellow nails. I sat down with Katie again, bad idea. I originally wanted two of them marble, she tried 3 times and couldn't get the nail to look marble, and kept asking me if I liked them, I couldnt bring myself to lie so I said honestly no. So the owner joe came over and said they couldn't do marble. Said okay but she keeps painting my nail and honestly I just don't like them. So then Katie quickly shaved the color off my nails and the owner told me to sit in his chair. This is what he did for me which was better but I still honestly hate them, and the SAME DAY the color chips? NEVER coming back here. Would literally give them no stars if I could. I haven't ever been to any other Top Q salons, but I've been to a few different nail salons in the area and feel the most comfortable here! The nail salon is updated, clean, and spacious. The technicians are always kind and high quality. My nails last a long time for a relatively cheap price and the experience is relaxing which is exactly why I get my nails done in the first place. Figured I'd finally leave a review after returning several times, I don't get my nails done regularly but when I treat myself it's nice to know I'll get good service here! I wanted to like Top Q. My stylist was quiet, but friendly enough, and did a good job cuting my cuticles and shaping my nails. I elected to use regular polish, on my normal nails, as I wasn't ready to try acrylics. The polish went on smooth, and they looked great when I left. However, I got my nails done Friday for a wedding on Saturday and by Monday morning they only 7 of my 10 nails have partial polish on them. Now I am a fan of hot showers, which is something I just learned can cause polish to peel quicker, but for $17 + tip, I feel like 3 days is a bit of a jip. read more

Unfortunately I was really disappointed with my experience getting an expensive shellac manicure at Top Q in Shadow Lake today. $30 for results I could have achieved myself, uneven paint job with no clean up so it looks like I just got polish all over my fingers. I took a chance on Top Q. I was hesitant until a technician named Sandy approached me. It was her first day there as the new manager and she assured me that I would be treated very well and would not leave dissatisfied. She was absolutely correct. I was left the salon very satisfied with the pedicure and shellac manicure I received. I've worked as a receptionist at several nail salons and therefore am able to determine a good technician who cares about their clients from ones that do not. Sandy is very committed to ensuring that her clients are satisfied with her services. She spoke to me about her plans to turn Top Q around and transform it into a salon that is efficient and provides exceptional services. She is also very personable and friendly. i would give 0 if i could. we had an appointment and still had to wait. short staffed for how many people we had made an appointment for. we made it for pedicures. i didn't get my cuticles trimmed. she never even applied a top coat so therefore my polish all came off by the end of the day. i wore flip flops all day, so i could make sure it didn't ruin. i paid 68$ for a pedicure that sucked. and i even tipped her and now i'm not even sure why. read more

My overall experience was absolutely horrible. I was very rushed and even had the polish options taken away from me when I could not choose right away. The older you lady who did my acrylics was extremely rough with the drill and even left ridges in my nails. I left with bleeding cuticles because of how rough and careless she was! When I called to talk to management the next day because my gel polish had already started to peel, the only response I got was "well what do you want me to do about it?" Just went here today with my sister for mani/pedis. I've been here multiple times and usually have a good experience. Today I was overcharged by $36 and I didn't realize this at first. The price did seem a little high but I was too polite to ask, silly me! The guy did actually stop me as we were leaving to tell me he charged me too much, but instead of refunding me the cash he gave me a gift certificate. I should have said something but I didn't (like I said, too polite!). I feel like I was taken advantage of, but oh well, you live and you learn. Let's see if this review gets filtered like all the others. I went in today with hopes to have a simple shellac manicure and ended up with nails that look like they were done by my 3 year old nephew. I asked for pricing upfront and was told $30 for regular and $35 for french. I started to get leary when the nail tech (Jimmy) pulled out the drill to remove my old shellac but had to let him know right away to only file. He was hesitant, yet after three half done sweeps of the file across each nail he did the regular procedures to remove the old polish. I became annoyed by the constant interruption of my nail tech answering the phones while other techs who were not with clients were busy painting their own nails or texting. The annoyance turned to plain mad when Jimmy failed to paint the nails evenly and then chose to half remove polish as a correction. I asked several times for individual nail redos but instead got met with a deer-in-headlights look and a shrug of the shoulder. Nails shouldn't be clumped with divots...I could have done them better. My final straw was that he said "$31" when he was done. I looked at him like he had lost his marbles and reminded him of the original price he quoted. You may say, "it's just an extra dollar", but for me it's the principle. He had some sorry excuse and I refused to give him the extra $1....more so refused to give him $30. After more back and forth I figured I'd give him his measly $30 sans tip. Never again!!!! I can now understand why the reviews are so bad. It's just too bad Yelp hides that from everyone. read more

Please Never go to Top-Q Nails in ShadowLake...We went there for my daughter's birthday pedi and it was the worst pedicure I have ever had. I paid 26 dollars for her to have a 15 minute pedi....in which they yelled at her for moving her foot when they were painting her toes and put an extremely HOT towel on her legs straight out of the warmer. They nicked my toe and continued to put acetone on it throughout the pedicure. They lady dropped the brush with red polish on my toe.....the only thing they would do for us was to offer a gift card for more services....NO WAY AM I EVER GOING BACK. After complaining more he told me to just accept the gift card and sell it to someone else....ARE THEY NUTS...I wouldn't send my worst enemy there. He then told me to stop wasting his time and never call again and hung up on me. My first time going to the shadow lake location was a few days before my wedding. I remember thinking the man who did my nails was so rude. He got irritated and mad at me because I couldn't relax my hand enough for him. Than I started going to the Bellevue NE location. I got a different man. He did a horrible horrible job! The acrylic nails were so thick! Than I came back a couple weeks after and I told them I wasn't happy with them and the manager sandy offered to do my nails. She did a great job and I was impressed. She said I could just ask for her and she would do my nails. After a couple times she started to refuse to do my nails by saying someone else that she "trusts" can do them. I had Dan do them and I've never felt so uncomfortable getting my nails done. He was rude, arrogant, and short with me. I wanted to get a design with him and even though I told him I didn't like what he was doing he kept doing it. Than sandy behind him told me "you need to go to Hollywood". Let me remind everyone that I'm spent $100 at their salon that day and I felt like I couldn't ask them to do what I was looking for. They are not open minded with designs and they will give you a hard time if it takes them "time". I have friends who have found nail salons who's staff enjoy doing fun designs and will take their time. Unfortunately the salon I'm thinking of is in a different state. DO NOT go here if you're looking for something specific. They'll make it hard on you and good luck getting someone who does a good job. And if you do... THIS PLACE IS THE WORST PLACE EVER!!!!!! I went to get a fill ($35.00) once the guy was done he said it would be $40.00. I asked him why and he said for the top coat that they put on your nails. (which anytime you get a fill that is included) I told him he didn't ask me if I wanted it and told me it was extra and there was nothing he could do about. Then when he ran my card he charge me more. When I asked him why the 2nd extra charge was he said for the nail file.
