My absolute favorite! Oori Triangles is one of my favorite spots in the Berkeley/Oakland area. They offer a variety of filled rice triangles and rice/meat plates that are insanely delicious. I ordered the Spicy Shrimp Rice Triangles and the Short Rib Rice Triangles. These are so good! My friend ordered the Ahi Tuna and Salmon Triangles. They are very flavorful and juicy. They come with edamame and a lime. They make for the perfect snack or can be a meal. We placed a large order. It was pretty busy inside and luckily they came out very quick. There is a lot of seating inside and makes for a very casual dining experience. They have a nice station with water, condiments, and utensils. Oori is one of our favorite places to grab a quick bite. They offer rice triangles or plates, and depending on how many triangles you order, or a small or large plate, it makes it easy to get how little or as much food as you would like. It's perfect for getting an easy meal or a quick snack. My boyfriend and I love how many options they have and how quick and convenient it is. I especially love that they have tofu options for myself. The edamame on the side when you order a larger meal is great to help bring freshness. We also love the convenience of the ordering kiosks. Came here, craving some savory and filling food after a day of shopping and walking around RockRidge. Has a decent amount of seating, but if busy it can get a little crowded. When you walk in there's two kiosks that you can order from. I always prefer digital order through one of these machines so that I can take my time looking at the menu and seeing pictures. I also think it makes it easier on the staff. They have options for small or large plates, which is great because I personally don't eat the biggest portions. They let you customize your plate lunch as well, so I opted to get all rice. They didn't have certain drinks listed on the kiosk so we had to buy them separately at the cashier, but there was no line so we didn't mind. The service was super fast and although busy, the workers seem to have a good attitude. We ate outside, which is what I would recommend especially on a sunny day and it was just a wonderful meal. The Kalbi was super delicious, and even though I got the small plate I still could take half of it home for later. Wasn't too salty, wasn't dry, the rice was made correctly, everything about the dish was just so extremely good. The other dishes that my friends ordered, they all thoroughly enjoyed too. We should start with the fact that the onigiri here are pretty good. Of the three that I had, the pork one was excellent, the grilled salmon one was pretty good, and the kimchi one left something to be desired. This place is really geared towards takeout orders. They have a little shelf that you can eat at, but it is not at a very comfortable height, and there is no place to sit. Would it kill them to put in a couple of chairs? I feel like they are missing something, maybe like teriyaki or unagi sauce or other ingredients, I don't know, and have too much rice and lack the other ingredients such as protein. It's not terrible but I think it's overrated. My expectations were higher based on the reviews. But I only tried the salmon triangle and am willing to give them another chance. The plates might be a better pick, and the tacos look interesting. Service is fast. These sushi triangles are delicious. It's great if you want something quick while your shopping around Rockridge. If you buy 3 or more you get free edamame. You walk in and order from a kiosk, then a few minutes later, your order is ready. All orders are served in a to-go box. We stayed and ate our meal on the bar near the window. They have a small bar w/ tap water, utensils, condiments and a variety of hot sauces. I ordered the salmon teriyaki, spicy shrimp and tofu. All were very tasty. Love Oori Triangles! Their rice triangles are always delicious, though a bit pricey and I might be a messy eater but they fall apart just a little bit when eating. I don't know why an Asian spot would serve their meats and fish atop a basic Italian salad. Yeah, this place is a thumbs up for me. I love onigiri and musubis so when I looked up for places to eat in the Rockridge area, this was a natural stop for me.
