Gyro Sandwich w/ Side Greek Salad
    Adam M.

When you walk into a place voted "The Best Greek Food in the Hudson Valley" all you can do is hope that it's true. While I haven't had much other Greek in this area, I can say that Opa stands tall as a solid spot! Generous portions of wonderful Greek fare. The falafel has a wonderful texture and is that vibrant green when you cut into it. The Gyro Sandwich is delightful and very well-portioned. Solid fresh Greek Salad as well. It's a cute spot on an adorable street where we got to eat outside and enjoy the weather. It was a bit busy but the two waitresses were doing their darndest to accommodate all their tables inside and out. Highly recommend!

Best lunch this trip. Heavenly. We shared the Gyro Plate, and the Nutella strawberry crepe. Both were the perfect temperature, the perfect consistency, and tasted like heaven. Saled Devine. Every table was full and I know why. Very reasonable prices. Even my Diet Coke was great. It was so great I forgot to take pictures. Did the kitchen on the way out.

Very busy here at lunch time on a Wednesday. Service was slow and didn't get checked on. I needed a water refill. The waitress was just running around constantly. Could barely catch her or ask for anything. However the Athena gyro was so yummy!! Could have had a little more meat but overall for lunch I think it was good. Very tasty. The hot sauce on it was good that I asked for. The iced coffee was ok. It's a very small place but authentic. Will def be back when I'm craving gyros

There is black in the fruit, there's not supposed to black in fruit.

My wife and I have been coming to "Opa!" since 2017, this was our favorite place to eat in uptown Kingston until tonight... Unfortunately, we experienced mold in her tomato after being served our usual "Gyro Plates" Here's what happened... When we were served our entrees, my wife took a bite of her tomato and she saw some black within the middle of it and then spit out what was in her mouth and saw more. When we told our waitress, she looked at what we saw, was very concerned and said, "let me go show my boss." Another waitress came back and said "That was the stem of the tomato" which we disagreed. Then another waitress said "No, that's the stem," They tried explaining to us what the properties of a tomato stem which we are already very familiar with. We asked for our check and while we were waiting for our check, the "boss" brought out two tomatoes to show the green/tan like they're supposed to be, which did not match with ours. Overall, there shouldn't be black in a red fruit. Our initial server was wonderful, whoever came after her for our agricultural lesson of fruit, wasn't a pleasant experience.

Small portions. Tahini isn't vegan here so need to substitute with hummus. Falafel in pita was pretty good. (4/5) $11 but not filling at all and everything else wasn't great. Babaganosh is really gelatiny-like texture; not good compared to places I've had. (1/5) 8-9$ Was told 15 min for takeout and it took over 30 min. Second time I went was shorter. Friendly staff but heard them complaining & took really long time at least 15 minutes when I arrived to be addressed about waiting time, seating, pickup anything. Pita bread is good but gets stale within an hour for takeout.

I mean it's simply the best Greek Taverna fare I've come across in the Hudson Valley. Authentic and delicious appetizers, entrees and desserts. Been a handful of times and it always impresses. Makes me wish I lived closer to Kingston than West Harlem, NYC. Whenever I'm up in the area, gotta make a stop at Opa!

Food is nothing exciting or extraordinary. You can get just as good at a Greek diner. It is too bad bc we would have liked to be blown away.

To order in person walk to the right and then turn left (a u-turn if you will) to get in line. Menus are posted on the walls to easily see as you wait in line. A variety of baked goods are available in a display case by the cashier. We ordered a raspberry lavender latte, a beverage from the cooler and two crepes. When we were walking away with our table number in hand I heard the cashier tell the barista I ordered a maple latte. I corrected her, I ordered the lavender. I received a Mocha. How did a raspberry lavender become chocolate? No idea how that went so wrong. A metal stand is on each table. Insert your table number and place it where staff can see. The indoor dining area has high ceilings, a big window wall at one end and is quite loud with sound bouncing off all the hard surfaces. Tables are set up from couples to a group configurations. In the back corner are two love seats and a coffee table. My egg and cheese crepe was extremely filling. Lots and lots of cheese in there. It kept me full all day in a 'I need a nap' kind of way. The cheese was the primary flavor in this dish. My dining companion had a stomach issue after eating a spicy reuben. It wasn't actually spicy at all so not sure what caused the stomach upset. The concept is fun. Put a sandwich into a crepe. The crepe doesn't add flavor to the dish and it's a knife and fork meal vs. a handheld. Add in both of our less than optimal reactions to the dish and wrong coffee delivery and we personally won't add this to our 'try again' list. They do have plenty of other items to try, and I do appreciate local businesses so I'm not saying it won't work for you. This was just my experience. Free on street parking. Restrooms down the hall near the back door where you'll also find a water fountain.

One of the…read morethings I love most is the large menu selection--there's something for everyone, whether you're stopping by for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or just coffee and dessert. My absolute favorite is the Turkish coffee. It's rich, aromatic, and one of the best I've had. It's a must-try if you're visiting for the first time. The restaurant is small, but it's very clean and has a cozy atmosphere. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. A couple of things to keep in mind: they are closed on Mondays, there isn't a dedicated parking lot, and it can get quite crowded on weekends. If you want a more relaxed experience, try visiting during the week. Overall, it's a wonderful spot with delicious food, authentic flavors, and excellent coffee. We'll definitely keep coming back! Highly recommended.

States gluten-free on the menu, however I'm not sure how staff is trained. Ordered a savory crepe and beef and potato stew. Both were delicious however be careful about cross contamination if you're highly sensitive to gluten/wheat. We ordered gluten free and the stew came out with a roll when questioned the server said "oh we need to get better at that" they did remove it from the plate with a napkin. They did not change out the platter which the bowl arrived on just left crumbs on top. We did our best with the napkins and covered the space that the bread touched in hopes that we wouldn't experience ill effects. Unsure if they clean the grill/cooking area between batches as the gluten-free crepe did cause some issues immediately after eating. 3. Overall, the food was tasty, reasonably priced especially for gluten-free food. If we get a chance to go back we may ask the staff for better technique if possible especially since we have an actual wheat allergy.

Good break to take a short stroll outside while waiting. The store was full with many people waiting, mostly students. One Crêpe can be shared by two medium built people after dinner because it's very filling. The chocolate nut party was a party in my mouth- gelato was good, mouse truffles were great, nuts were sufficient and the Crêpe itself very fresh. The syrup on the gelato was avoidable. Pocky sticks are fun too. Definitely going to be back here to try the savory versions, and I wish they open a store near Hartford.
