I give this place 3 stars because although the food was delicious I feel like it is a little expensive for what you get. I got the Alibaba pita sandwich with gyro meat, falafel, hummus, lettuce onion and tomato. It was good but little for $8.50. If it came with fries I would have felt that it was a better value. A side of fries is $2.75 and quite small. This is a sit down restaurant. I, for some reason, thought it was a walk up to the counter type of place. read more

Good quality food and good prices. Not terribly impressed with the Greek fries, the seasoning and feta didn't stick and didn't add enough flavor but not a big deal. Other than that it was all good. Opa was a little gem when it was just storefront takeout - I worked on the block a few years ago & ate there twice a week. The food was always made with care by the chef (of Greek heritage), delicious & affordable. Happy to see that he's expanded & taken his enterprise up several notches. Opa's a winner. read more

Perfectly grilled pita with moist flavorful authentic gyro the tzaziki was perfect and i added feta what could be better feta on a gyro and they were not stingy with the feta either. It was wrapped perfectly that i ate it right to the last bite without mess. Now the FRAPPE. I worked in Greek restaurant in the 80's got turned on to FRAPPE. If you like iced coffee FRAPPE is Nescafe classic instant coffee from Greece blended with milk in a milk shake machine served over ice. It's frothy creamy bold deliciousness in a glass. I sat outside the summer breeze was perfect and the greek music was beautiful to listen to and Added to the whole experience. The waitress Dani was great friendly and attentive always checking in to see that i was ok or if I needed anything else. I just spent some time going over the menu with the owner, Johnny, who walked me through items that I could eat which are free of allergens. Delicious and reasonable. We had them cater a 54-person dinner for a film crew on same-day notice with a small budget, and they met and exceeded expectations on every level. The food was fantastic, the portions were generous, and within our budget even with tax. And they delivered right to our dining location (their restaurant is close by). I finally had the chance to have dinner here last night. Wow! I don't know why I waited so long! We had a plate of grape leaves as well as hummus that had to be the freshest, tastiest appetizer ever! Dinner was the Chicken with tzatziki dressing served over greens followed up with a nutella crepe. The food was amazing, the staff was wonderful, the portions were generous and the prices were reasonable. If you're traveling to, or live in the area, be sure to stop and eat. The waitress was very nice , the restaurant was clean ..the problem was the food. First off , I'm Greek and in Food Service as well so, for me to go out of my way to post this review , that says a lot . I ordered a Greek Salad and a side of Gyro meat for my Wife to go ...then I sat down and I ordered a Gyro and a bowl of avgolemono soup to have there . The soup was not even close to what real avgolemono tastes like so after I tried it , I pushed it aside. I didn't call the waitress to complain but , she noticed I wasn't eating and asked me . I was very polite and explained that , I didn't like it at all, I couldn't even taste any Lemon in it but could tell they used canned stock. Things like this happen at Restaurants and normally a restaurant that cares will just take it off your bill ..especially when they see you didn't touch it....not here. My Gyro came and the meat was fine (but they probably buy it from Kronos or one of the other suppliers) the Pita was grilled nicely..but overall , it was pretty lame since their Tzatziki was bland . I ate half of it and asked for the Bill. -- I was charged for the Soup ..the waitress apologized and said the owner refused to take it off my bill. I asked to speak with him but , he wouldn't come out of the Kitchen . ? -- -- ..BTW , the bill came to $33 , I drove home and my Wife said there's not even one Greek Olive or Dolmatha in the Salad .. never again read more

Opa! Gyros is one of the best Greek restaurants out of New York! The gyros are fresh and delicious and the spanakopita is amazing and tastes just like it came from a bakery in Greece. The salads have fresh vegetables and delicious feta. The service is fast and friendly, particular the owner Johnny. If you are anywhere in the Hudson valley, Opa!
