Located in the Morgan street food hall. I got a falafel pita. I had a choice of taziki or hummus and I chose hummus thinking it was a side. It came on the pita. I thought there would be some kind of sauce on the pita but there was not. Had good greens and some tomatoes and the falafel was not overcooked . Just kind of blah with out some sauce. I ate here the other day while at the Morgan Street Food Hall and it was just okay. Unfortunately the pita fries on top of the Yeero Pita were ice cold and the chicken was very dry and not good at all. The tzatziki sauce was the main thing saving this dish. The vegetables inside the pita were delicious but obviously I ordered this because of the chicken which was a huge disappointment. After circling Morgan Food Hall, I decided to try Opa! Raleigh and was not disappointed with my decision. I got the kebab platter which allows you to pick two meats, I chose double chicken. You also get to choose between rice and greek fries, I chose the fries. All of the items on the platter were delicious! I especially enjoyed the Greek fries. I recommend pouring the green dressing all over the entire plate, not just the salad. I did this and it added a great flavor. We got lucky and immediately found an open table, however if you have a larger party I could see finding a table being a potential difficulty. read more

Had a nice selection to choose from a d was extremely accommodating even as I was at the end of what looked to be a slow night (they were the only place open as all the others where in tear down mode. I was happy to find a new option for Greek food in the downtown Raleigh area, and Opa! did not disappoint. Through one of the delivery companies, I ordered spanakopita, small Greek salad and falafel. Everything was good and the portions were generous. The tzatziki packed a serious punch of fresh garlic-- perfect on the warm falafel. The house salad dressing was exceptionally good, and they do not scrimp on the feta cheese. After all, that's important if you're going to call it a "Greek" salad. I visited Opa Raleigh in Morgan Street today. It was a very unpleasant experience and the food was mediocre at best. Normally I would give a restaurant a couple of chances before I write any kind of review. However, I felt I need to share my experience in these time of dealing with COVID-19. When I went to the order area I was greeted by a woman with a mask barely covering her mouth. Additionally she was training a new employee so I can only assume she was either a manager or lead. I did mention to her that the mask should cover her mouth and nose. My response was that it must have fallen followed by a giddy giggle. When I went to pick up my order her mask was in the same position loosely fit below her nose. She made no attempt to secure the mask properly on her face. I told her I felt she was very irresponsible or not complying with safe mask practice. Her reply again with a giggle was to say she didn't intend to offend me. Without saying it she made it clear to me that she did not intent to comply with the mask requirements. For a person in food service to be so lackadaisical about personal safety and public safety has no business being in food service. Needless to say I won't be returning. Shame on them! read more

This place has awful food. Spent 20 bucks on the meze platter and a side of falafel. Nothing was seasoned, tzatiki is just sour cream and cucumbers, no garlic or olive oil. Zero flavor and bland hummus. Dolmas (grape leaves) had dried up, days old rice in them. Falafel is mushy and not crispy. The best things on the plate are the things they didn't make--olives and tomatoes. This restaurant is essentially what is wrong with the food scene here in Raleigh. The may look Greek or Mediterranean to unfamiliar southerners but the recipes and taste are about as authentic as Spaghetti-0's are Italian. I was so excited to get my order and everything looked legit when it arrived. As someone who loves and has eaten a lot of Mediterranean cuisine in his life (I'm Greek) and lived all over the country, I was shocked to bite into something so familiar looking and feel so deceived. The flavors were bland and there wasn't a hint of garlic or traditional spices in the Chicken Gyro I ordered. The meat had a weird consistency with fatty bits and an oily finish. The tzatziki (cucumber yogurt sauce) was just that and only that....cucumber and yogurt. Tzatziki is taken as seriously in Greek cuisine as BBQ sauce is here when it comes to a good NC BBQ. Sure there are different variations depending on where you live in the state for BBQ sauce, but we can all agree that if someone slathered your pulled pork in ketchup with a little pepper in it you'd have something to say. This attempt at tzatziki was purely something that simply looked close to its name but ultimately was all smoke an mirrors with further investigation. I wont even go into what a pathetic attempt at pork souvlaki/kebab/etc. that arrived in my order. It was undercooked and looked like it had been boiled and not grilled. I wouldn't even feed it to my dog because of the color of the meat. Lastly I ordered a side of "traditional" Gyro meat just to try it like I did the pork. All I can say is that the shavings were burnt because they had been sliced so thin and clearly reheated. Any flavor that may have existed was now overpowered by stagnant oiliness. Bottom line is I spent about 20 dollars on a small amount of what was low quality, inauthentic, tasteless garbage, that somewhat resembled ethnic cuisine. If you are really drunk, have a totally unrefined palate, or starving on the street and someone offers you this for free, then I would say this place may work. At the end of the day the Greek fast food restaurant in the food court of any crappy mall probably tastes better and is easier on your wallet. Do better Opa....do better. read more

My husband and I went here again today. Second time for us. I went there for the spanakopita because I heard that was really good. We decided to get the platter that served two as it had lots to sample, including the spanakopita. It was delicious. I generally don't order chicken kabobs because they tend to be dry, over cooked, tasteless. These were very tender, moist, well seasoned. These are a do again for sure. Spanakopita was yummy as was the cheese pie. The tomatoes, out of season now, we're also quite good. They lightly season them. There is a lot of attention to detail that goes into the dishes and the flavor reflects that. Oh! And if you add another kabob this would easily serve three. Big portions! read more
