Not necessarily my vibe, if you're down for very loud music, cramped spaces then this is your spot. The small bites were good, nothing stood out for me, the service was slow, we also had to look for the host to find the spot we reserved. Came here on a Friday night with friends to check it out and it's a beautiful place, smaller than what social media shows but it's a cute spot; the aesthetics are IG post ready. Food and drinks were overpriced and not really worth BUT what do you expect for being in the city and by the UN. Ophelia is such a gem! Love that the location is kind of tucked away even though you're in midtown. Loveee the interior and the views. Great place for a happy hour. My friend and I did have dinner but the seating is less than ideal to eat an actual meal. I would love if they had actual chairs and tables or maybe make their seating options more clear. Me and the wife went here to relax and look at some city views after a long day walking around with the family on vacation. Price was not too steep but steep enough to resemble that this is a nice bar/lounge. Food was fuckin' hella good and it was getting dangerous because we just kept ordering and the expense was gittin' up there lmao. Service was overall pleasant. You have to take an elevator up there. You walk in, just head straight into the elevator. There was a point where we went there to relax and they were bumpin' Usher, and this group of city girls next to us were gossiping hard. And the music got me energized back and was like damn, these chicks aint tryna dance to some Usher?? And my wife never wants to dance with me, so I stay seated like a good boy. Stumbling in here was like a fever dream, I stepped off the elevators to people dancing Merengue. We came for a Latin night so that was probably the reason, but the DJ had us jamming all the way until closing. The place is PACKED, so packed there were many arguments over space lol. Surprisingly it's not hot or sweaty which was a plus. The process for getting a reservation is less than ideal, and those on the phone really make it seem like a super exclusive club. We were able to just walk in (free coat check), and wiggle ourselves into a space by the bar. Drinks weren't that great. Overall don't think I would be back bc of space but maybe with a reservation I'd have a different experience. read more

I had an expresso martini. The bartender made it good and creamy like I like it. I would like if the lights were turned down so you could see outside better. That's my only complaint. A rooftop restaurant + bar. We came on a Saturday night and it was amazing. We were seated at a table outside and it was beautiful. Besides it being a little too dark, everything was perfect. FOOD- truffle ravioli. 5/5. I was stuck between getting this or the ribeye but the waitress recommended I try the ravioli and I am so glad I did, it was delicious. Not a single dry bite. Every bite was just packed with flavor. DRINK- espresso martini. 5/5. Was so good I had to be conscious of my sipping so I don't finish it in one go. A bit on the stronger side but it was great. SERVICE was great. We came Saturday with a 9pm reservation. There was a DJ switch at around 10pm and she was phenomenal. She even gave me a rose! Definitely recommend coming here! read more

Definitely one of the better rooftop cocktail bars in NYC. A lot of rooftop bars are insanely overpriced with subpar cocktails where you are just paying for the view. Ophelia however actually makes decent drinks and has a beautiful bar area. If you want to take out of town visitors to a NYC rooftop bar, I wouldn't hesitate to bring them here. read more

Solid spot overall. A bit out of the way but worth the trek so it's not as crowded as most places this time of year. We had a reservation for 6:30 and they still had a happy hour going on until 7. The cocktails were good and in the same price range as all nyc spots. The food was .. a hit or miss. The devil eggs were terrible. There was some aftertaste that we both didn't appreciate. The truffle fries were some of the most bland we've ever had. But the lobster Mac and cheese and burrata were absolutely delicious. Last I went to Ophelia's for a date and wow what a time! When we arrived to the top floor, we were immediately met by with a lively group of people, a DJ and great atmosphere! Once we were sat at our table, we ordered drinks, the Duck Confit Spring Rolls, ahi tuna tartare fried wontons and the fish and chips! We loved every single item! The building and bar is beautiful, but the attitude of the staff and the service is horrific. We arrived as a group of 4, never greeted by the host and wandering looking for a table. Eventually I found a buser and asked if it was self seating and he rudely told me to find the host. Eventually flagged down the host who had walked by us several times giving us dirty looks. Eventually flagged her down and said she would find me when a table became available but refused to take my number or information. Eventually went to the bar to wait and the bartenders were equally rude. Eventually we left (the place was empty at this point with a ton of empty tables) and that same host was heading home because she never intended to seat us. Horrific experience. Beautiful lounge on the 26th floor with amazing views of the city. Came here for brunch from 12pm to 4pm. I had the 3 tier brunch assorted entree for $49 per person. Everything on the serving tray was delicious. Service was quick and prompt. You need a reservation for this place. Ophelia - A Disappointing Christmas Eve Experience I was hoping for a memorable Christmas Eve to cap off a trip to NYC with my daughters, but unfortunately, Ophelia left us wishing we had chosen anywhere else. To start, the only highlights were the stunning view and the initial impression of stepping off the elevator and seeing the bar--an ambiance that quickly faded as the experience unfolded. The food was decent, but the service and atmosphere were appalling. It took a staggering 20 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. When our server finally appeared, she promptly handed us off to a runner and disappeared. I had to flag down the manager just to place our food order. The restaurant was dominated by a loud, obnoxious party whose screams, cheers, and singing ruined any chance of a festive or pleasant evening. Adding insult to injury, they openly bragged about getting underage members of their group drunk. This behavior went unchecked, and it was clear the staff had no control over the situation--or worse, didn't care. The experience was so unbearable that we ordered dessert via DoorDash before we even left. On our way down in the elevator, I spoke with another couple who shared that they'd actually walked out mid-meal despite living next door. The old-school New York charm of the building it is located in can be seen and felt in this warm, modern cocktail bar. Being at the top of a tower near the east river affords this place some excellent views! You can take in the views by sitting on the outside patio (covered in the winter). Seating is casual yet trendy, lots of benches for two or cushioned chaises where you can sit and enjoy your cocktail. The inside is quite elegant and a bit grandiose, though the twinkling fairy lights seemed kitschy against the otherwise classy decor. Drinks here were tasty and well mixed. I went to Ophelia last night (4/27/2022) and it was terrible. I arrived with my guests about 2-3 minutes before our reservation and was told our table would be ready in 5-7 minutes. After 20 minutes of waiting for our table, I went back up to the host station and asked about our table status. Same response: our table would be ready in 5-7 minutes. Gave them about another 5 minutes, checked my phone, and I received an email notification from Open Table noting that Ophelia just went ahead and canceled my reservation. Photo evidence can be provided. I can assure you I was not rude to the two women at the host station (in spite of one of them being quite rude to us). The dining area is separate from the bar area and the layout is somewhat intimate and not a good place for groups. The setting is more for dates/intimate dinners w/a date or your significant other. The food is good, but a bit on the pricey side, which is expected. My friend and I ordered Prosecco to drink and it was pretty good. On the way downstairs to the bathroom, it smelled gross and it was off-putting. The DJ they had was really great - I loved his playlist! Overall, I wouldn't come here to meet singles. I had such an amazing experience at Ophelia! The atmosphere here is absolutely spectacular - classy, vibrant, and with such a unique vibe. A special shout-out to Iram, who made my visit unforgettable. His service was excellent from start to finish, super friendly and attentive. If you're looking for a truly unforgettable dining experience, look no further than Ophelia. This place has everything- stunning space and spectacular views, impeccable service, and amazing food drinks. We've been here a few times and each time has consistently exceeded our expectations. For drinks, we really enjoy the Pain Killa and Purple Tuxedo- strong but well balanced. For food, we couldn't stop raving about the French Onion Sliders, and Burrata! I'm writing this to say that I didn't think I'd ever find myself in midtown EAST but I was with my girlfriend and we decided to try this place out and happy we did! First the food we had was the best lounge food I've had in NYC and especially the foie gras! We also had the sliders, YUMMY! The menu was a certainly better than most a little pricey but worth it for sure! We already made plans to go back when it gets warmer! Great views! We checked in with the hostess at the front, and we went down the stairs to the main area. We had a bit of a larger group, so we were led to a more private area separate from the rest of the floor. I ordered the The Randy ($20), which is a reposado cocktail. All the cocktails that they had were unique mixes that I haven't heard of before. Some of them even came in more whimsical cups, if you like that sort of extra flair. For some snacks we also got the Bang Bang Shrimp ($23) and they were also having a special on their oysters at the time (6 minimum) so we got that as well. Both were good and it's more just to help get something in our stomachs while we drank but there's nothing really to really get you full like a meal. Service was good and they checked up on us once in a while, which was good since we were isolated a bit from the main area. We were celebrating a bachelorette so we also got limoncello shots that definitely pushed us over the edge after our cocktails. Overall it was a nice place to sit back for a bit. It definitely has a more dark and moody ambiance but with a touch of whimsy to it. Love the unique cocktails that they have and I would recommend it to anyone in the area to check out!
