Entered and greeted by the host at the desk immediately. Went back for some pre-eye work with an assistant who was lovely. Connected with my teen daughter beautifully and explained in detail all the steps she was doing with me since I had some additional scans due to my age. At my request, they moved some scheduling around with no problem so I could stay with my daughter for her appointment. The doctor was incredible. Detailed. Attentive. Personable. Honest. Resourceful. Had a solution or recommendation for every concern that was found. Really appreciated her intellect, communication and honesty. Time to look at glasses. I've been unhappy with my purchases in the past for years and now need glasses full time for close and distance vision. I have migraine disease and a very low bridge so glasses need to be light and snug. I was spoiled rotten. Two technicians looking after me. Honest. Informed. Fun. They had a frame I really liked but did not have the color I preferred. There were two other options and they took the time to order both for me so I could decide. Overall, a truly wonderful experience. I actually got a bit emotional because I have missed the care I got from our previous eye doctor and his team and didn't think I'd find a place like his again. No major changes in my eyes today so that is always a good sign. The place is well maintained and very clean. Even though I found some new frames, I feel they had limited frames from designers that I was looking for. But still found some cute ones made by FURLA. Dr. Kim personality is the first thing that will stand out to you when you talk to her. She's funny…read moreand very straight forward. She has been my optometrist for the last 6 or 7 years but it been like 4 years since I last visited. It was my fault but after doing my yearly physical, my primary doctor told me to go do my eye exam. I made an appointment and arrived early. I was able to find parking easily, I remember before it could be a hassle. My eye sight changed from the last time I did an eye exam here so I needed to get new prescription lens. I still like my Oakley frame so I prefer to keep using that one. So I had to get it sent out so they can put new lens on it. Make sure to have backup prescription glasses because it can take 2 or 3 weeks to be completed. Keep in mind that if you pay credit card there is a fee so try paying cash or having your debit card on you.

In a patronizing tone she said that I "must not have gotten her message about this earlier". I told her I had gotten the message and that my insurance verified that it was active and that it was accepted at that location. She argued with me that it wasn't working and said there is nothing she can do. She offered no solutions. I asked if I needed to re-call the insurance and have her hear them verify and she said no, and there was nothing she could do... yet instructed me to call my insurance (again) ‍ It was unproductive, unhelpful, and I wouldn't go here. She made no effort to provide any solutions-- and they never even sent me the address to begin with. More annoying still, I had waited 5-6 weeks to get this appointment, and now I have to start my search over and wait longer!

I had a truly terrible experience at Dr. Lucas' optometry office, and I would strongly advise…read moreanyone to avoid this place if you value your eyes, time, and money. From the beginning, the service was unprofessional in every aspect. Dr. Lucas prescribed glasses that were much too strong for my eyes. I immediately experienced dizziness, headaches, and eye strain, and I could not read properly. When I returned for a second exam, he gave me another prescription, but again it was too strong. Ten days later, when I got the new glasses, I still could not see comfortably--whether on my phone, laptop, or reading. On the third visit, instead of apologizing or correcting the mistake, Dr. Lucas became dismissive and rude. He even asked me what number I wanted for my prescription. I told him that if I could prescribe my own glasses, I wouldn't need to see him. Rather than listening to my concerns, he gave me long, unnecessary explanations about the prescription numbers, which only made things worse. All I wanted was the right lenses to be able to read comfortably. The front desk staff was equally rude and unhelpful. Michelle, in particular, acted as if my concerns were personal attacks. Making appointments and picking up glasses was a nightmare. In total, I had to go there six times for one pair of glasses. Eventually, I gave up and told Dr. Lucas the prescription I wanted myself--and that finally worked better than what he gave me. To put it in perspective: for my right eye, he first prescribed +2.50, but when I asked for +1.75 instead, I could see clearly. That says a lot about the accuracy of his exams. On top of that, because they changed my lenses three times using heat, my own frame (which I had to provide, since my insurance wouldn't cover another one) was damaged. The coating around the lens started peeling just days after I picked them up. One lens even had a fingerprint smudge permanently embedded. When I called about it, Dan at the front desk was rude and dismissive, telling me they couldn't do anything and that I should call my insurance instead. I originally chose this office because of the high reviews on Google and Yelp, but after my experience, I can't understand how those reviews are genuine. Either people don't realize the harm, or the reviews are not authentic. Bottom line: This office is unprofessional, careless, and disrespectful. They wasted my time, damaged my frame, and put my eye health at risk. Please save yourself the trouble and avoid Dr. Lucas' office.
