Good, upscale atmosphere, and a decent place to celebrate a special occasion. Excellent wine selection, and a respectable selection of whiskeys, bourbons, and ports. We visited this past weekend. Nobody had seafood; we all had steaks. I'm told that the filet was excellent. Our waiter informed us that all steaks were at least prime cuts - believe me, they'd better not be serving choice grade meat for these prices. My wife and I decided to split the tomahawk wagyu offering - which, was by no stretch of the imagination wagyu. I've seen choice grade cuts of meat with better marbling. Either Opus 9 is getting taken by their distributor, or Opus 9 is taking the customer for an idiot. One of those things. I've been buying and grilling steak for almost 20 years. If you visit Opus 9 and opt for the wagyu, ask to see your steak before they cook it. That said, the steak was cooked beautifully. The garlic mashers (mashed potatoes) were the star of that meal. All said, Opus 9 isn't a bad place if you're looking for an uppity steakhouse, and the food wasn't bad. I just wouldn't go out of my way to revisit. read more

Opus 9 is TOP SHELF. The place is done up to create a private feel to the tables and the staff was exceptional. Our waiter was friendly and knew the menu inside and out. We started with the bourbon pecan brie and it was delicious!! Could have been a dessert is was so sweet, but I'm glad we started with it as I did not have room later. Then I went with the Cowboy cut ribeye done Opus 9 style (lump crab and potabella shroom) which was cooked perfectly and tasted spectacular. My date had the Fillet Opus 9 and her cut was also quite nice. It is pricey but sometimes you get what you pay for and if a fine dining experience is what you're looking for than this is your stop. I hate to give this place anything less that five stars, but I feel they should know a mistake so they can improve. The positives: service was fantastic, the ahi tuna and seafood bisque was delicious. The desserts were also great. The negative was ordered lobster and filet. The filet was ordered medium, but came out rare. My husband even commented how undercooked it was. I sent it back to be cooked some more. It came out still somewhat undercooked. It did not taste like a normal steak from here (I assume it was warmed up in the microwave especially considering Covid and it was the same piece of meat). I did not eat it and ended up asking for a to go box. This was my birthday dinner so it was a bit disappointing, especially spending $400. Sending a steak back that undercooked I would have expected some sort of here's a dessert on the house sorry we messed up. Unfortunately if this had been my first time here I would hesitate to come back. For $400 the entire dinner should be superb. This is now the second time in a row visiting my steak has been undercooked. read more

Incredible! Great food. Great wine. Amazing service from a knowledgable staff. I have dressed up and dressed down in my two visits and have been treated with class. The steak is amazing and so are the other entrees. I recommend exploring the menu and appetizers. Their wine list is wonderful and well rounded. Once my waiter realized I was exploring the wine list he made a recommendation which was the favorite of my previous visit. The portions are large and you will not leave hungry. Everyone was really nice from the hostess to our waiter being very attentive. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary there and the food was amazing. He had a bon in prime rib the oozed out the flavors and I had shrimp stuffed with crab don't know the exact name. I also had a seafood bisque which has crab meat in it It was really good also I had to tell myself to stop eating it so I could save room for my main course. Tough review to write. My meal (caprese salad, rib eye with garlic mashed potatoes, and molten chocolate cake for dessert) was excellent. My wife, on the other hand, did not enjoy hers at all. The bleu cheese dressing on her wedge salad was watery, the crab stuffing in the Shrimp Opus was fishy and overpowered the shrimp. She also had the garlic mashed potatoes and liked them. For dessert she had the NY cheese cake and was favorably impressed. The service was excellent, and the wine list was extensive and exceptional. All in all, a mixed experience. This is an elegant place. I went to Williamsburg and found this place was highly rated on Yelp. A bit pricey and we ordered two Ribeye steaks which were both cooked to perfection. Only place I have found to make steak like home my Dad (was a 40 year Meat Manager and) taught me all about good steaks and made me a huge fan of great steaks with great flavor. Opus 9 does it just right but the thing that sets them apart is the Derrick our waiter and we mean OUR because he makes it our Happy Place. Overall pretty disappointing experience. The bread we had when we were seated was hard and bland. Might as well just not bring that out. We ordered the bbq shrimp appetizer. It was probably the best thing we ate here. My wife ordered the Oscar 9. She said it was too sweet and has had the same dish at a different restaurant that was MUCH better. I agreed. My steak was ok; well cooked but salty. Potatoes au gratin were pretty good though. Dessert was a huge disappointing let down. The banana foster cheesecake was bland and the tiramisu tasted like whipped cream cake. Oh how I wish this place was nearby as we are on vacation from Orlando. We arrived at 6pm to have a few drinks pre dinner at the bar - and their happy hour is tops for value! We had a martini each and a double g&t and the price was hard to beat for a classy steak joint. The bartender, and I wish I got her name, was on point and made some great cocktails. The martini's during happy hour are a steal - I felt compelled to tip 50% based on the service and 1/2 price drinks. This was a great welcome and we had fun chatting with the locals... We moved to our table and Billy was our server and really attentive and funny. It's a lovely looking steakhouse and the decor was fresh and classy. After being seated, we perused their extensive wine list and found a favorite at a very reasonable (for a steakhouse) price. We started our ordering by splitting the Hearts of Iceburg (basically a bleu cheese wedge) and it was served pre-split and was plenty. And very tasty! I don't know what bleu cheese they are using but it was delish! We moved on to split a 12oz Filet, Med-rare and it was again, served split and was cooked perfectly. And man on man was it good! I got my half with bearnaise and it was one of the best I've had! We also ordered a side of Asparagus with Hollandaise and it was cooked perfectly and the sauce was incredible. For the included starch I got the au gratin which was tasty and the other half got the loaded baked which was not only very large, but literally loaded. He seemed to love it so another thumbs up. For our anniversary, we made a last minute reservation a couple of hours in advance to go to Opus 9. When we got there around 5pm, we were the only patrons. It was busy a little layer though! Our server Ryan was very helpful with the menu choices and very friendly. He made sure to double check on how we wanted our steaks cooked. My husband had the bone in cowboy ribeye steak and I had filet minion with lobster. Let me say..my husbands steak came out sizzling and his was very good!! My filet and lobster was excellent as well. Even the little salad on the plate was tasty. Expect to pay $50+ pp not including drinks. We were so wowed by this place and we will def come back. We even met a couple who was celebrating their 44th anniversary. We are four years strong! For dessert we shared banana foster cheesecake. Sooo good! I go during their happy hour, which, if I remember correctly. Is 5-7pm Monday to Friday. I feel like a terrible person for not remembering the specials, but I know the prices are really good. My parents and fiancée go around dinnertime, which can be busy, but we always get prompt, incredible service from the ladies at the bar. My mixed drinks are always perfect, and everyone else loves the selection of wine and beer. I get the cheeseburger sliders ($1.75 each) and a side of fries, which come with ketchup made in-house. I wish I could lie and say I've never eaten the leftover ketchup with a spoon, but I totally have. It's just sooooo good. Everyone else usually splits the crab dip, and they all seem to really love it! read more

We found this restaurant while staying at the Great Wolf Lodge and we were extremely glad we gave it a try for dinner. The atmosphere is quiet and elegant but we did notice they allow very young children/toddlers. Our server was professional and friendly, making several useful suggestions.
