Ora has re-opened post-Covid and seems like they took the downtime during Covid to fix things. First things first, I honestly disliked coming to Ora for my fave EDM artists because of the sound system. For example, I saw Ben Bohmer here for the first time in 2019 and actually thought he was horrible, but then later saw him at 2 different venues and just realized it was Ora's sound system. Fast forward to 2021: THEY. FIXED. THINGS. The sound isn't as bad, they moved the DJ stand to the middle of the back wall instead of the corner, and increased the screen size of visuals behind the DJ. Another gripe I had about Ora was they always ended things at 2AM on the dot. IE, we never got to stay behind and meet and greet with the DJs. But post Covid, I see this rule relaxing a bit. For example, pre-2021: I remember Ora shooing me out onto the street with Marsh who was kind enough to chat with us IN THE RAIN on the sidewalk after the show until 215AM Post-2021: Ora let us stay inside and take multiple photos/chat with David Hohme in August. Ora stayed open and let Fatum play until 3AM for my post-wedding afterparty in October. All these things are making Ora a not-so-bad choice anymore. In addition, the lady who helped with our wedding after party table was SO friendly and attentive, and Ora even gave me a thank-you card for having my wedding afterparty with them. read more

So disappointed by this nightclub, don't waste your money yall. My husband and I were bar hopping and heard and felt the bass coming from their building. We were excited to go dance and upon arrival the place was absolutely dead. On a FRIDAY NIGHT downtown! Two people dancing in the first room and four in the second room where Dj yevsa was performing. Amazing djs, staff were lovely, but the owner while I was in the bathroom forced my husband to finish our full drinks we had just bought and leave 40 minutes before they closed! I came out and he told me "everyone left why are you still here" then walked me to the front to kick me out and followed up with "come back tomorrow we will have 600 on the books and I'll put you VIP" no thank you read more

We went to this place last night with the sole purpose of having fun and dancing. We were misled into thinking it had a "Latin" vibe; when we arrived at 11:30, there was absolutely NO ONE there. Furthermore, once we started livening up the place, they kicked us out--acting in a racist manner--simply because they couldn't stand seeing people dancing. read more

This is a neatly laid out nightclub on a semi-shady corner of Belltown, featuring three rooms downstairs and I believe space upstairs, which wasn't open for the event I attended. They also have a small fenced in outdoor space as well. On the first floor the most immediate room was being used as kind of a "catch your breath" space, then there was a main space and then a back bar, both able to accommodate DJ's, dancing, and their own bars. There are some decent seating options in the main space, and minimal seating in the smaller back space. The sound system is club-loud as you could expect. I found earplugs to be the way to go for me. Anyway, the place gets cramped fast, the bar runs slow and the bartenders seemed stressed, and the worst aspect of the experience was how sweltering hot it was. It didn't seem like there was any A/C, which is baffling. I could be wrong, considering a place like Sunset Tavern has A/C running in its little venue in back and still gets hot, but it would be worth looking into if you get overheated. I wouldn't shy away from going to an event here if I was invited, but I also won't be going out of my way to find events here. read more

The place is a racket. It's over priced and they pack in people like sardines. They had two bartenders and people kept cutting in the bar line without any repercussions. They don't bother to run the AC, just fans, so it's unbearably hot. The sound is not great unless you're packed into the center of the upper dance floor. Overall will never come back. read more

I came here for their New Year's Eve party with Gabriel and Dresden. The venue was smaller than I expected, with a tiny bar and one DJ downstairs, and a larger space upstairs where the main acts play, with a few roped-off VIP seating areas and a larger bar. Clientele was decent and pretty well-behaved :) Seemed like a mix of the wealthier Seattle IT crowd looking for a party and your average joe who enjoys EDM tunes. The theme was Gatsby/1920s and people were dressed to the nines, for the most part. Staff was great and kept coming around with free water to keep us hydrated while we danced. I will say the worst part was the bathrooms were honestly really gross, with staff rushing in with a plunger while I was in line to try and repair not one but two of the toilets, and also terrible water pressure to try and wash your hands with. It honestly made me not want to drink much so I wouldn't have to pee because I really, really didn't want to use those restrooms again! So they lost out on some alcohol sales from me Coat check was $5 + tip. We found overnight parking around the corner for $20 which was kind of highway robbery, but it is downtown. The main act lasted until around 2:30am and then another DJ came on until shortly after 3:00am. The crowd was good -- enough people to feel like you're a part of something, but not so much that you're fighting for space on the dance floor. WATCH YOUR MONEY WITH THIS CLUB Attended an event on 9/14 where the entrance fee was $30. I used my credit card and was incorrectly charged $342.59. The phone number listed does not work, but was able to reach someone via email. They confirmed the charge was incorrect but did not move to resolve the issue by providing me with a refund. It has been over 1 month and I still have not received my refund, so there is ill intent to keep my money. I've reported this business to the BBB. Warning to attendees, carry cash with you for your entrance fees as they will not do right by refunding you. read more

Been coming here for at least three years for select artists. Have had more bad experiences than good. This was the final straw. Waited 45 minutes in a non moving line, cold, watched my partner be talked to and treated like a piece of meat by security apon entry, and only saw ten minutes of the openers (who I paid the full price of admission for two people to see). The openers are personal friends and both told me they had played to an empty room for at least 20-30 minutes. I would not recommend this place. Even if it's an amazing DJ because they don't care about the artist one bit. I will be either seeing who I want to see at another club, or in Portland. I would rather drive three hours south and pay for a hotel than give this club another dime read more

I booked a table at Ora to celebrate my friend's bachelorette and we all had a great time! I highly recommend booking a table at Ora because not only do you get a area to lounge around, it also covers your ticket and a bottle of booze (either Absolute or Jack Daniels). Amaani was easy to communicate with and responds back in a timely manner, unlike other Nightclubs in Seattle that we were interested in booking. He even threw in a complimentary bottle of champagne for the occasion, which I thought was a nice gesture. My only comment was that our pitcher of soda was warm when the hostess pour us chasers, but she quickly noted and brought us another one that was chilled. While there is a dress code listed on the website, Ora seems pretty lax as I saw people there in sneakers and jeans. However, the decor is nice and the place is kept clean. Ora plays EDM/Trance/House which personally is not my cup of tea but I thought Nifra's set was awesome. Overall, Ora is a great nightclub if you're looking for a place to host a bachelorette or special occasion. With the nice decor, you might as well dress to impress. read more

Belltown and fellow electronic music fans - please welcome Ora, as one of the newest clubs on the block :) Located next to Sarajevo Lounge and in the heart of Belltown, Ora Nightclub is one sweet club. Armed with an amazing sound system, pretty lights, and with two dance floors, I am loving this new spot. Been here a few times and each time was a success. Here are some things to note: -Cover: At the moment, no cover!!! :D Not sure how long this will last but definitely check out the facebook or website for event details. And best of all, free cover = all night long for girls AND guys... woot woot -Drinks: Gotta admit, drinks here are great. Stiff but not overly strong, I feel like your money is worth it and all of the bartenders are pretty friendly and nice :) -VIP booths: even though I didn't book one yet, the looks of the booths are pretty cool. Huge comfy couches and the VIP area near the DJ stage is sick. -Music: Been here primarily for the techno / deep house / tech house / dirtybird type of music. A lot of local talent playing and overall, it's a sweet spot for electronic music. I do know there are other theme music night, so check Facebook/website to see DJ names. -Sound system / lights system: On point. Period. -Interior = gorgeous. Has that nice Vegas-y feel with the modern feel and look -Dress Attire = Casual but not toooo casual. Dress code is listed on the website Overall, this is one of my favorite spots at the moment. I provided some DJ gear for a rider last year (for John 00 Fleming) and the sound guy broke one of my media players by yanking the cord out. Upon trying to communicate and work out a solution with the owner of Ora, he eventually ghosted me without repairing, replacing or buying the gear his guy broke. Considering the piece of work he is, I'm surprised any local DJ still plays here...hard to support someone who screws people over. I'm not a big fan of the venue. It's located in Belltown right next to another Latin club. There's two dance floor inside but the bottom dance floor isn't always open. Upstairs is where the main sets are happening. It feels more like a lounge as you enter. The decor by the bar looks pretty neat. The main downside of this club is the size of the dance floor upstairs and the lack of ventilation when the floor is packed. The sound system isn't the best. The bass feels too loud and the quality isn't up to par. However I do love that they showcase a lot of trance DJs from around the world. read more

There is some excitement that goes on when a new club opens up and they have DJs scheduled to play that you like and want to see. I had never been here before but my friends had one time before. They warned me about the temperature issues but I had no idea how bad it was going to be until I was literally there standing in it. The nightclub is split into a lower level bar and then the upper level bar / dance floor. In my opinion, the layout was not thought out very well. I will tell you why later. The decor on the lower level was nice and made me really want to like the place when I first walked in. We went upstairs right away to see what that was like and after two steps into that level from the stairs, you were masked with the heat. At one point in the night, the thermostat was registering at 90 degrees. People were drenched in sweat, their clothes soaked, some guys even walking around with their shirts completely unbuttoned. If someone needed to get past you, you will feel their sweaty body on you as they go passed. It was disgusting. The main dance floor where the DJ was, was shoved in the back corner. I honestly never even saw him it was so dark and crowded in that small room. The upstairs bar is where they had a much bigger area and where their tables were for VIP / renting out I assumed. They should have switched the bar and the dj booth. Why pay for a table when you cannot even see the DJ or be in the room where the actual main dance floor with the lights are. The sound was okay when you were upstairs in the dance room area and downstairs but when you were out in the bar area upstairs, the sound was not playing through the speakers the whole time and sounded bad. The bar downstairs had one bar tender and people were nice enough to make a line at the bar rather than just crowd it. Service at this bar was slow but that was due to it being under staffed in our opinion. Lets talk about the drinks. I ordered a vodka ginger ale and so did my friend. A few others got vodka red bulls, a screw driver, etc. When I took a sip of my drink, I honestly thought they gave me vodka water. I passed my drink around and made 3 other people taste it before jumping to conclusions. Either the soda was completely flat or she gave me water was the consensus. I checked with my friend who got the same drink minutes before me and he said the same thing. I threw the drink out which was disappointing. I would not recommend going here until they figure out their ventilation / temperature issues. We will not be going back until that happens. On a side night, the cops came by as well. I came here to see Stanton Warriors, a legendary Breaks DJ/Producer duo. I was surprised at how light the bass sounded/felt in the room. I was also surprised to see both subwoofers at the front of the room, unplugged. "At least they have this huge subwoofer in the corner to the left of the room," I thought, walking over to it to place my hand on it. Wait, no, that subwoofer was turned off, too. So, I thought, maybe this is one of those nights where they wait for the headliner to come on in order to turn on the rest of the bass. I waited through about two or three Stanton Warriors tracks before I decided to go. Wrong again. No bass. All they had running were ceiling hung 12" speakers, which are barely fit for a mobile DJ let alone a night club. It does artists like Stanton Warriors a disservice to have them play on an inappropriate sound system. The employees and people here were nice - but you have no business hosting acts like this if you can't present them properly. read more

I was excited to see Tinlicker since they had just released their new album and I'm glad the ticket only cost me $20. I lasted a couple hours at best due to how HOT that venue gets...and it was packed.Again, here's another review that adds to all the others about the heat and stuffiness inside...and it's October, not the middle of summer. My opinion is that building is so old they can't do too much to fix the AC problem. Meh. Had a ticket to Eli & Fur last night...crazy crowd and decided not to even go into the venue. I read quite a few complaints on social about the crowd behavior and non-flushing toilets and glad I didn't bother! That clinched it for me. Never going back. read more

I've never experienced heat like that in any nightclubs I've been to. The place was packed and people were drenched in sweat, fanning themselves with whatever they could find. They had two useless portable ACs and a fan between the bar and dance floor. We were standing in front of the fan and at some point it was blowing warm humid air, that's how bad it was. That was the last straw. I had been looking forward to seeing Oliver Smith in a smaller venue but we ended up leaving 10min into his set. We could not take the awful heat any longer and I will never return to this place, there are much better options. read more

Booked a table here when Nifra was DJing and it was FUN! I like the crowd and it was not packed at all. Nothing like pushing/shoving and getting people's sweat all over your arm because the club was way over capacity. After Nifra's set, she spent some time chatting with the crowd, so it was cool we got to meet her! You don't normally get that kind of action at clubs. They bring AWESOME DJ's, but unfortunately I'm old so I don't go as often as I want to (my mind says yes but my body says hell no). One suggestion for Ora...GET AIR CONDITIONING! I know it's not typical to have it in Seattle, but it's still a dance club. I came here in July and I was going to die of heat exhaustion. read more

Music was way too loud/ sound system not the best. The heat upstairs was crazy and even though they opened the windows their air conditioners didn't seem to be working so there wasn't air moving throughout the space. I HATE THIS PLACE WITH A PASSION. DO NOT SUPPORT. I PAID to go see one of my favorite DJs (Oliver Smith) this past weekend and he rarely goes around the US to tour, so this was a must-see event for me. I typically have a satisfactory experience from all venues in Seattle when it comes to EDM shows and I expected nothing to be different with this place. Boy was I WRONG. I've read posts/comments from others about how hot it gets at this venue but I was asking myself "How hot can it really get? It can't be that bad, I've been in these sort of situations before." But it did get THAT HOT, to the point that it was unbearable for me. I had a hard time breathing and was getting light-headed from the heat. I mean I was surprised the ceiling wasn't dripping with moisture. It's THAT BAD. The experience was so intolerable that I caught maybe......20 minutes of the show? I spent more time trying to cool off than catching the show. It got to a point that it wasn't worth it for me and I just left, even if it's one of my favorites artists. I NEVER publicly complain about a venue and I can forgive & forget pretty easily but I was livid about my experience that I had to say something. If you read the reviews on this place, there's one common complaint - the AC system needs to be fixed. And these complaints are dating back to LAST YEAR (at least). If this was a one-off thing, I mean sure, whatever. But this is a re-occurring problem. What does that say about the ownership/management of this place? This isn't as simple as complaining about bar service or whatever, it's about being in a comfortable environment and I didn't get that. I had to leave for the sake of my health! Not to mention, they were tying to sell more tickets to an already-sold out show, so it was overly-crowded. There's nothing that tells me that they care about their customer's experience. Best of luck but I won't be returning in the near future. I don't think being in a comfortable environment is too much to ask for. If I'm paying for a show, I shouldn't have to feel like I'm having to endure through it. That's just ridiculous. read more

It was so damn hot in here. There's an upper level where the dj booth is and a lower level with just a bar. Upstairs was like walking into a sauna. The sound system upstairs was also way too quiet. You couldn't fully appreciate the music because the sounds of everyone talking was so distracting. My group of friends decided to stay downstairs because it was cooler and the sound system down there was turned up higher but we weren't able to watch the DJ that we came to see from downstairs. read more

I would give this place zero stars if I could. The atmosphere and what is provided is polar opposite. I was told that Ora was bad, but WOW. The sound distortion is on another level. Insane highs, I mean ear piercing. And ZERO lows. Why? Why would you have 2 subwoofers in front of that stage, turned around, unplugged? My friends and I were confused at first. As another user put maybe they would wait until the headliner came on. No. We were told the subwoofer was in the corner. So we all moved hoping to get something. Still only highs and mids coming from the woofer. Who is the sound engineer here because they should be fired. No low frequency bass at all. And honestly, beside the sound, what kind of environment are we striving for? Girls in one piece outfits, men dressed nice. Yet everyone I encountered was either wasted or beyond boujie. Aweful DJ Went for NYE and felt like I was playing name that tune to the worst mix ever. I dont think the vibe made it above 80 bpm and it was a constant bounce every 15-30 seconds across current hip hop tracks and some really lame old school. Sometimes the switch was really abrupt and left me thinking "wtf"? Ended up leaving at 11:30 because the music mix was so bad. Honestly the place is decent looks wise but please get some decent DJ's. I drove 2 hours to see Tinlicker and to much dismay I was very disappointed. I have been to many nightclubs across the country and have seen many different shows and believe I have a good understanding on what makes a great or even just a decent club/venue. This place was oversold on the tickets for such a tiny venue. You could not even get up to where the dance floor is because of all the people. It was extremely hot and pushing through a crowd just to use a bathroom was absurd. If they sold less tickets and maybe raised prices it could have possibly been better. read more

This is a one star review because of the sound system upstairs. Who cares about your cool bar and your leather couches. Sean Tyas didn't deserve it. The sound system from the birthday party downstairs sounded way better. Do your DJs a favor, get a better system or just redirect the sound to surround the area and not come from just the front.
