Food is amazing! Service if good, ambiance is top notch. My go to ramen spot with my mother when we do our shopping in the area.

I randomly walked into this place with some friends and it was a nice discovery. Ambiance: we were 4 and the restaurant was packed so I would say we were lucky we got a table honestly as everything else looked taken. Food: I got the spicy chicken and OMG it was indeed very spicy and delicious at the same time. I would definitely recommend to add the level of spice on the menu to give an idea on how spicy it could get. Luckily I can handle it but Im pretty sure someone else would def swnd it back. The broth was very rich and hot in this freezing weather so be ready for it, and the noodles were really soft and easy to get digest. The chicken was well seasoned aince it marinated well with all the spices, giving it a unique taste. Service: warm and friendly as the standard should be. Had a really nice spicy miso ramen for lunch. The broth was delicious and the chashu pork was *fantastic*. I didn't love the noodles, but they were solid. Service was very fast, and it had the vibe of a low key ramen/sushi place. Definitely check it out if you're in the neighborhood! read more

Best Lunch Special offering on 6th Ave especially when running around holiday shopping. They have a wide selection of sushi and ramen dishes. As well plenty of options for alcohol. Was in the area and was craving a warm soupy meal, so we landed on Oramen. The inside is well decorated with dim lighting. The service was great, the staff were attentive and ready to help us at all times. My friend and I both got the spicy tuna roll and the ramen set. The food tasted good, but not much more than that. This is a great little spot around the Chelsea area with simple dishes and good serving sizes of main courses. The sushi rolls could have been bigger but were still just right and flavorful, fresh, appetizing. Their staff is fast and friendly and we got our food pretty quickly. I ordered a lemon cocktail and it wasn't strong at all so their bar drinks menu is just a refreshing alternative to soda/water. Good place for date night too! read more

We had no idea what to eat around chelsea/flatiron. We walked for a bit, but there's literally nothing in that area lol, but we did figure out that we wanted ramen, so that was a start. We popped in ramen in our maps/yelp and we both decided on Oramen. We both got the lunch special: one entree and one small app. We got the spicy veggie miso with vegetable gyoza. The gyoza lacked flavor and was mushy on one side while crispy on the other, so I wasn't a fan. My friend didn't mind it and enjoyed it. We both really liked the spicy veggie miso. Went to Oramen for lunch couple of weeks ago. It's a nice restaurant, very cozy inside with a nice big bar. There's a shack style outdoor sitting area. Best part, it doesn't get crazy busy during lunch time. Their menu is huge, with all sort of Japanese dishes and drinks. We got to try the ramen, takoyaki, and my favorite chicken katsu curry. All of the dishes were delicious. The katsu curry is amazing, not spicy but has a hint of kick. The chicken cutlet was moist, not overcooked. Excellent ramen noodles and soup. The service is nice, plenty of servers sharing and taking care of all tables. Since our last visit, we have been there again for lunch. read more

Second time and always a solid meal. I highly advise coming here for something like a weekend lunch. They've got great specials running and the service is quick I ordered the Katsudon and it's absolutely going to become my go-to. The chicken was great, I might see if they could put just a little more sauce on it (if that's ok) because the rice wound up being a tad bit less flavorful than I wanted. I know I could also just add a dab of soy sauce but the curry on the chicken was so good... I also tried their matcha lemonade. Not something I'd get every time, but it hit the spot. On Oct. 6 I decided to try Oramen for lunch and arrived at 1:30. During my visit, the place was pretty empty, with only a couple of other customers. If I were to rate Oramen on the food and drink I had, I would give it 5 stars, but the atmosphere is zilch. The place is medium size with a bar area of about 6 seats and some tables. It is not a very comfortable place. I sat at the bar and the seats were terribly uncomfortable - no place to put your feet. The floor is cracked concrete and unbelievably ugly. (A new floor could make a vast improvement). This restaurant seems to be more conducive to take out than sit in. The restroom seemed to be clean. I ordered hot sake, salmon & avocado roll and pork gyoza. They were delicious - best I had in a long time. I'll definitely return for the food and try to ignore the environment. But I ordered the salmon lunch special ($18) asked for no rice, and he recommended the salmon appetizer ($13) but I wanted the vegetables. he asked if it was okay if paid full price without the rice and I said yes, that's fine, could they add more vegetables instead of the rice? "I got you".food was okay. Salmon was flavorful. Veggies weren't overcooked. My bill came and it said $21. I asked about it bc the menu said $18. He said we charged for extra vegetables. I don't mind being charged just would've wished he said that in the beginning. "Full price" does not equate to extra charges in my mind. read more

O'ramen continues to be a good place to grab lunch. The restaurant is always clean and simply decorated. They still offer a lunch menu which is great. They have rice bowls, ramen with appetizer and sushi rolls. Typically the food comes out 10 to 15 minutes later. The waiters are always friendly and attentive. During my last visit I got the Tonkotsu Ramen, which is the pork broth soup. It's consistently delicious and very rich in flavor. It comes with thin noodles, scallions, half of a soft-boiled egg, and two slices of pork belly. I also got the pork fried rice as the appetizer with my soup. This was my first time having the rice and it wasn't the best. There was a huge ginger flavor and then it's topped with more pickled ginger as opposed to another pickled vegetable like carrots. I've tried plenty of other items at this restaurant, such as the Crispy rice. It's amazing and I wish I could order it every time. I have also had the pork gyoza which are fried pork dumplings. Those are very good and a must try. Overall, I will continue to visit this restaurant. read more

Ordered the duck ramen and the lunch special of ramen and Karaage with a side of yu choy vegetables. The duck ramen was unimpressive. The pieces of duck were mainly fat and skin. The soup was a shoyu base, was salty. The lunch special ramen was the spicy miso, a little more spicy than what I would've liked. The karaage was delicious though! And the ramen was firm and good consistency. And the veggies were bland, it was steamed with shoyu base. Overall, unimpressed meal. And to top it off, I ordered hot water (instead of cold) and they charged $2 for this! How absurd! It was Not even tea! I have never been to a restaurant that charged for hot water. I would definitely describe myself as a ramen focused diner and thought I knew most of the great spots that NYC has to offer, but Oramen exceeded expectations. Started with the chicken katsu sandwich, which was quite good. Great fry on the chicken, the sauce was very tangy, and the bread was soft and tasty! Really great sandwich. Now - the duck truffle ramen is quite possibly one of the more interesting and best ramen bowls I've ever had. Duck that is expertly tender, tons of umami flavor with the truffle broth, and delicious bok choy with the noodles. I would come back JUST for this ramen. I also tried the brisket ramen, which was another highlight. Plenty of beef and a yummy soft boiled egg. The broth flavor was very hearty and great on a cold day. Service here was fast and friendly, and I quite liked the dim lighting, neon vibe, and albeit kind of loud but groovy J-Pop synthwave vibe. The broth on both were very flavorful. The noodles on the tonkostu ramen I didn't care for but the miso ramen noodles were thicker and chewy which makes for a better ramen. My first ramen soup of the season and opinion of Oramen? Very favorable. With the day starting out in the 50s and finding myself in the vicinity running errands, I decided to check out Oramen for lunch. I consulted Yelp and saw an overall 4 star rating. I'm in! When I arrived, specials were posted outside, door stood open and the restaurant was filling up. I was shown a seat at the bar but with the door open, I felt cold and it would defeat the purpose of having soup in the first place. I asked for a table and was briefly annoyed by the waiter's comment who stated that tables for two were usually reserved for two people! Huh? Scratching my head, I ultimately sat at the table but observed a bit later other solo diners sitting at tables. Yes, definitely annoying. Anyway, as I browsed the menu, I saw a nice variety of soups, rice bowls, appetizers, lunch specials/combos and drinks (wine, cold and hot sake). I passed on any beverage knowing that I'd be too full with the soup alone. I liked the different styles of ramen soup which were accommodating to diet preference. I don't eat red meat therefore I would not want a beef or pork based broth. I settled on the Tan Tan Spicy Chicken Ramen soup. It was noted as spicy, chicken based broth with minced chicken, vegetables and wavy noodles. It arrived minutes later looking hearty and delicious. It was certainly delicious---robust, heavy, flavorful, a bit oil slicked, spicy (but still tolerable for me) and filling. I loved how the chicken was finely minced, nearly ground and the wavy noodles held on to the broth. It was a very satisfying portion for $15. I would say that Oramen is a keeper and I'm looking to return again. Their ramen soup hit all the right notes and exceeded my expectations. I'll be back. read more
