Despite being a mobile, events-only coffee shop (they've only been around since the summer of 2025!), their setup was incredibly polished and trendy. They clearly put a lot of thought into their presentation, making the mobile espresso bar feel just as professional as any brick-and-mortar shop. I ordered the Man in Black latte, one of their signature drinks--a combination of blackberry and vanilla. The description promised "timeless and classy," and it delivered. The espresso was smooth and pleasant, thankfully lacking the sour notes I often find at other local shops. The blackberry flavor was wonderfully forward but was beautifully rounded out by the creamy vanilla notes. It was an absolute delight to sip on this hot latte while enjoying the crisp fall air. The service was charming. While the speed was about what I expected with a line, the two women working the tent were incredibly welcoming and engaging. They happily shared parts of their business story as I gushed about their cute and professional setup, answering all my questions with a smile. Their genuine enthusiasm added a lovely personal touch to the experience. Their pricing is quite reasonable for a high-quality, specialty drink. Lattes are a standard price point at about $6 for, I believe, a 12-ounce size. If you're looking for value, their Americanos are only $3, and their lemonades are a steal at $2. Chai lattes clock in at $4. I highly recommend seeking them out at an event and giving them a try! I'm already wondering if their pop-up espresso bar would be a great fit for my organization's next event, or even a wedding or shower brunch. We had a choice of two Pinoy restaurants in the St Louis Top One Hundred, so chose this one in the Gravois Park neighborhood. Parking is all street but wasn't too hard to find a spot and it was unmetered. The inside has been lovingly remodeled with a giant mural depicting a Filipino marketplace, and a set-up that supports a coffee shop atmosphere. It hadn't yet got too busy, so the group was able to find seating while we stood in line to order. It's a casual style, where you order and pay first (they use Square so got the receipt via SMS), and the food is delivered to you as it is made, with self-bussing. They have both a lunch and dinner menu. The Fattened Caf. (abbreviation for cafe NOT cafeteria) is marketed as bbq, so our group focused on the meat dishes, all wanting to make it shareable. Bistek ($22) - my wife's go-to when eating at a Filipino restaurant, this simple dish of beef pieces flavored in a strongly soy sauce based marinade was good, much better than most versions I've had restaurants in LA. The presentation was fine-dining, with enough gravy (sawsawan) to pour over the white rice that accompanied. Lechon Special ($20) - this was an off-menu addition, and was the one dish (presentation and taste) that would fit in to any fine dining restaurant, a must to be eaten on-site. It's a great introduction to show how awesome pork belly can be, if prepared this way. The texture contrasts hit in each bite, and the curry based sauce was different but worked really well with the meat. Housemade smoked Spam ($15) - This pork product is house-made, so not sure if they got permission from Hormel to call it this. In any case, it was delicious and the grilled pineapple slice that came with it was a perfect accompaniment. Spicy Chicken Longganisa ($15) - I had given up finding a good Filipino sausage that I liked until this one..and it's chicken based! It had the right amount of spiciness to counter act the slight sweet, and loved how the natural casing had been crisped to produce the snap that I adore. Plus the meat grind wasn't so fine...really loved this dish. Most of the dishes came with garlic rice and red cabbage atchara, which I liked (they also sell the green papaya version as well). Ube Banana Pudding ($7.50) - this dessert really worked with the mixed flavors of the banana and ube, with the one bite that I took enough for me to finish the meal. My wife also got the San Juanico Mango Bourbon ($11) - a mango bourbon kalamansi lemonade, which she enjoyed. Other drinks were offered in cans, along with a self serve water station. Service was OK throughout, as it was more of a fast casual restaurant. I think the quality of food deserves a more formal sit-down experience, mainly because we had to place multiple orders as we found the food to be so good. This meant getting back up to stand in line which is fine if dining alone, but not so much when with old friends. But the price reflects this fast-casual way, and can definitely appreciate the proprietors doing what they can to keep prices down.

The dining area is painted in bright colors, with funky light fixtures and chairs. Very bright and colorful. There was a musty smell in the area that we sat, which reminded us of an old basement. The food came out pretty quickly and looked great! We enjoyed both dishes and agreed that the spicy eggplant was our favorite flavor. For food, we tried the lobster mac and cheese, lobster bisque with pieces of lobster, a pound of steamed crab legs, fried green tomatoes, and the warm lobster roll. The lobster roll was phenomenal. We shared it, but I honestly could have eaten the entire sandwich myself. The real standout, though, was just how perfectly the seafood was cooked. Both the lobster and crab were juicy, sweet, and tender with just the right amount of chew. Nothing was rubbery or overcooked, but it wasn't soft or mushy either. I genuinely don't think they could have cooked the seafood any better. The fried green tomatoes were also cooked perfectly and something I was excited to try since you don't see them on every menu. Unfortunately, they were a little too spicy for my personal taste, so we didn't finish them, but that's definitely more about my spice tolerance than the quality of the dish. The atmosphere was another plus. It's a really cute setup with great ambiance, and our server was wonderful. We also walked right in without a reservation and had no wait at all, which has honestly been one of our favorite things about eating our way through St. Louis. Coming from California, we're used to having to plan ahead for popular restaurants, sometimes weeks in advance. Here, we've been able to discover some fantastic places without having to plan our entire trip around restaurant reservations. I will say, this was probably the most expensive meal of our trip. The one pound of steamed crab legs was $65 market price, and the lobster roll was $37 market price, so Peacemaker definitely isn't the cheapest place we've eaten. That said, considering the quality of the seafood and how much we enjoyed everything, it was absolutely worth the splurge. From the crab legs to the lobster roll to the bisque and mac and cheese, everything we tried was delicious.
