Yea I'm sorry, I wanted to like this place, but could not gather myself to. The food itself is "ok" at best, I got the breakfast croissant & the really only good part was the sausage and croissant itself, with the ham being overdone and the eggs quite runny. On top of all that, hair in my food...what a shame that was to find. The service was ok, it felt like they were nice to regulars and fine with newcomers, but when they quickly go through the options of sides and sound annoyed for you to ask them to repeat them, well there we have another negative part. The restaurant's setup itself was nice, a little cramped looking overall, but not too bad. Sorry Bistro, I'm sure you're great for some people, but not for me. read more

Couple months ago I went here for brunch on a weekend with my 3 boys. I put my name down and waited. After about 20min I noticed people who came after me were being seated. I went to the list and saw my name crossed out.(Was standing next to the door the whole time) When I mentioned to a server what happened. I was accused of trying to cut. After some arguments my family was given a table. It took 20min for anyone to come even take our drink orders. I figured this was retaliation. I got breakfast and kids got burgers and it was ok food. Then I waited several months to give this place a try again. This time was during the week. Was only my wife and I and a group of high schoolers at another table in my dining area. The service was once again one of the worst I've had. Never once was offered a refill in my coffee or my wife's drink. When bringing up if I could get a refill the server would sigh and slowly do it. When she dropped off the food she asked if there's anything else she can do? But quickly turned around before I could respond. When I did speak up. She rolled her eyes and then went to the other group of guests. The food was mediocre. You could taste in the fries that they haven't changed the oil in a while. Had a fishy taste to it. Either they mix their food in the fryer or the oil needs to be changed. Between the food quality and service from the two times of trying. It is safe to say there won't be a third time. read more

Had a craving for hash browns and this place did not disappoint. Cozy local diner type of cafe. The wait was short and our waitress Nina was very pleasant throughout. She greeted us right away and checked on us during our meal. Our table was small so it was nice that she cleared plates when she saw that we were done with them so we had more space. As I write this review, I'm currently preparing to move to LA from Orange tomorrow morning, after having spent four years going to college here. But, throughout those four years, Nina, Sean, and the rest of the staff here have made Orange Cafe feel like a second home to me. I've endured countless hangovers inside OC, but I knew I could always count on the Crab Cake Benedict or the Carnitas Omelett to pick me up after a long night out. Their food is second to none, and I can't recall a moment where I waited more than twenty minutes for a meal to arrive. Orange Cafe has seen me at my worst and at my best. On first dates and on final days. Nina has never judged me for showing up to OC with a never ending cast of characters, and I have never been disappointed by the inviting atmosphere. Orange Cafe is the definition of comfort food -- it's a place to escape the stress of school and of college and relax -- even if only for an hour. I will dearly miss this place, and endeavor to grab a bite here whenever I make my way back to Orange. There truly is no place in the world like Orange Cafe, and when I look back on my time in college I have no doubt in my mind that OC will be a defining part of it. This is a local place with lots of locals dining . Met two friends for Sunday brunch. I was the last to arrive - friends had ordered drinks. Server asked me what I would like, said I needed to use the restroom first. There was a line - she again asked me what I would like to drink while I waited for the restroom. I got back to the table and asked for a drink and water with no ice. The drink arrived but no water. She came back to take our orders and I again asked for water. She came back with 2 glasses and said a third was coming - it never did. I asked if they were busier than usual - no, actually slower....the food was good and homey. My husband and I visited today for the first time. I saw a good review on social media about this location and off we went. The place is quaint, there is seating indoors and out. We were greeted nicely and seated right away. I ordered biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs and sausage. The food came out quickly and hot. Sometimes for breakfast at other locations, the eggs are cold by the time they come to the table, not here. The meal was delicious and our server, Nina was absolutely wonderful. Is it possible to have an extensive but simple menu? Sure is! I feel came here for brunch at a friend's recommendation and I can definitely see why she suggested it. They have stuffed French toasts, omelette, and simple lunch choices. I tried the Vegetarian Eggs Benedict and really enjoyed it. The one remark that I have is that I wasn't personally a fan of the hollandaise sauce, as it was almost a nacho-cheesy consistency, BUT it was served on a generous portion of spinach so it was easy to dilute and get my veggies in for the morning. I'm not sure if I'd order the same entree again but it was tasty enough that I'd get something else here, for sure. They don't do bottomless mimosas, but they serve them by the glass or bottle. My friend and I just shared the bottle and it came out nicely presented in a large silver champagne ice bucket, which is nice for making you feel fancy while you're day drinking. I also enjoyed that they offered a flight of juices to accompany it for only a couple dollars more. I wish more places did this! Restaurant staff was very friendly and attentive. We asked to slide over one because we were underneath a television that made it tough to talk, but they were very chill about it. They do close a little early so make plans to meet here and mind the business hours. I guess they've been here in operation for like 60+ years, and I can definitely see why! read more

Nina is amazing and friendly. My first server was Kathy. They told me to sit wherever I wanted. I was recommended this restaurant by my mechanic and they did not disappoint. Everything is made really well. They do special requests like, well done Hashbrowns and Corn Beef Hash. Lastly, the extra butter on my Wheat Toast. The coffee is really good. It has a delayed caffeine kick in, but it's a good sipper if you're trying to past time. Corn Beef hash was crunchy, salty, and filling. Hashbrowns were crispy on top, and soft on the inside. I love mixing my over easy eggs with my Hashbrowns. They have pop music playing in the ground. There's a huge orange front, so you won't miss the restaurant. Lots of locals eat here daily. Nina really holds it down by serving, and cleaning the front of the house. Finally, the comfy cushioned chairs. I almost fell asleep multiple times during my stay. read more
