I recently went in to exchange a mattress I tried for a couple of months and was still within the trial period. I wasn't sure how the exchange process would go. I was partially anticipating some resistance from the salesperson or a full pitch on the great qualities of the mattress I was trading in. Although my initial contact was less than favorable, I was conflicted because the product purchased has been outstanding. I decided to do what I would normally would not do, but felt that I must...I voiced my disapproval! WARNING: Do not buy from these people. We purchased a King of their private brand for $1169.00. After using this mattress for only a few nights we realized that it too has serious problems with body cavities. After a phone call to their sales dept we were told that this is a normal condition and not to worry. This IS NOT NORMAL, we are in our late 60's and this is the first time in all our lives we have had these problems with a mattress, such as back pains after sleeping on this mattress. After much discussion with the sales person I was told that the only remedy was a less padded model and that the price would be approx $400 to more. WTF?? It was easier to buy a mattress set from OC Mattress and have it delivered the same day than it was to buy milk at the store! I needed a mattress, box springs and frame for same day delivery. I was greeted at the store by Brandon. He asked me what I needed and how I wanted my bed to feel. Then he showed me a set, which was perfect. Feeling that I should at least try a second bed, he showed me another choice. Either would have been fine, but he nailed it on the first try. He wasn't pushy or a "do you want fries with that?" kind of a guy. He made me feel like he really was there to be as helpful as possible. When we sat down to finish the transaction, Debbie was also extremely helpful. She called the warehouse to make sure the set was in stock so Brandon could do the paperwork. They worked very well together. There was no competition between them at all. I was out of the store in less than 25 minutes. The mattress set was delivered to my home 2 hours later. The delivery crew was so very nice. They removed the old mattress, helped me disassemble the bed and waited patiently until I had vacuumed until they assembled the frame. Then, they put on the box springs, and called me in to make sure the bed was exactly where I wanted it before bringing in the mattress. I couldn't have had a nicer experience. Laguna Hills Store.. Went to the store and chose a "FULL' sized mattress.. the floor model felt fine. When sleeping on the mattress.. I developed pain.. unable to sleep... serious pain Went back to the store.. left a message.. the salesperson .. sursed, used sexual defamatory language.. and misrepresented the company policy.. which is writing. Contacted the main office.. They emailed me in return.. but. . and get this.. "When I red the email.. it was from a 'phantom' employee.. directing me back to the original salesperson.. ' ..come to find out. the email was from the original sales person.. representing himself as a woman employee.. !!! I went to Orange County Mattress after going to Leeds Mattress store which by the way sucks. So I went in and talked to the guys working there. I tried out some mattresses. They delivered that evening and hauled away my old ones. They had great service and reasonable prices. They didn't try to talk you into something you don't need like other mattress stores do. They also didn't try to give you some lame advice about how certain mattresses are bad, good, etc for your back. If you are shopping for a mattress, look here first. read more

Terrible company, snake oil salesmen. Really nice when you're buying but don't try to return. It isn't allowed. Their sales pitch: " Just for you I won't charge you tax", or "just for you I'll cover the tax". Believe me, the tax is figured into the price you are paying. Do yourself a favor and go to Macy's. Macy's has everything Orange Co Mattress has and much more. Macy's has better prices, is reliable, the salesmen are very knowledgeable and most importantly, they are HONEST, and if you are unhappy with a mattress, they really do let you return. I purchased the top of the line Airloom handmade mattress for nearly $5000.00. It was very comfortable for about the first Month. Then it started sagging on one side. Then the whole mattress become lumpy. I called customer service And they immediately sent someone out. Although you could visually see that one side was lower than the other, the representative said this is completely normal. How could this be possible. So I tried sleeping on it for another few weeks and started waking up with the worst back pain. Customer service did not care and said they already did the evaluation and it is was fine. Clearly it's not fine. I had to go buy another mattress because my back was hurting so bad. read more

Surprised at how responsive their customer service is, great help!!! We bought a mattress here less than two years ago that unfortunately started getting indents after less than a year. We are not heavy people, both less than 150 pounds, but still had problems being comfortable. In the middle of the mattress where the foam wasn't patted down, it felt like an anthill because the foam was so uneven. Anyway, I called the store and asked about their warranty. They sent me to corporate office, who told me the manufacturer would send me paperwork and then send out an inspector who would measure with special tools the indents in the mattress to replace or give me credit if the indent was 1 1/2 inches or more. Needless to say, the manufacturer messed up and sent the paperwork to the wrong address. When I called corporate to complain, they said they had good news. I was thinking, "Oh great, a sales spiel..." but they offered that day to replace the mattress or give us store credit. So we took them up on their offer, got a tempurpedic simplicity (10 year warranty!) and we are stoked!!!!! read more

I sent a report to the FTC, and Attorney General Office of consumer complaints and they also suggested reports be sent to the BBB and District Attorney. Anyone, who would like to add a review of their experiences with this company, I will forward it if you wish to contribute to the report which I will be updating. I wish a refund on my second, not first mattress I bought thru this company. I first, purchased a Simmons bed and spent a good amount with them, and after receiving it and sleeping on it a short time, saw it did not match the mattress I laid on in their show room which I went back to lie on a few times to be sure of the difference. Unfortunately, I listened to the service manager and figured it was "me" not my new bed, took the loss and tried to make it work, but also went to buy a second firmer mattress to put on the Simmons box spring. I had slept on this other model/ a Spring Air, at a friend's home. I tried very hard to work with this Co when this second purchased mattress came to my home defective and not like to store's model again, and, it was replaced after my efforts proved right about it's defect when a Spring Air rep came to my home to see it. Then OC Mattress Co sent another one that was also defective, again. Both times I went through the customer service manager Susan Darshay, and of course it was again implied to be me, not the mattress, or she said, "this just couldn't happen twice". An engineer who talked with me and knew about machine coiling process at the manufacture plants, told me this problem had to do with the pocketed coil spring system being at varying tensions and bulging up the top of the bed in places. I possibly received a lower grade, or sub standard B or C mattress, that was purchased by the company and sold to me. Which is, very uncomfortable... causing headaches, and neck aches, I was not able to lie "flat" on it like the one in the show room or at my friend's home. I tried to sleep with my feet hanging off the bed so the rising areas in the middle of the bed hit me at least around my waist but it still hurt. I was not acknowledged, and believed after all this explaining. The story is endless with back and forth conversations, and things said to me by their customer service manager, and in conclusion; the mattress is against the wall. I did try to make a compromise and was in the end not even offered that. So I am gong for full refund and want this mattress returned to this company. I even waited and waited not one but two different times for their inspections to come and make sure I did nothing to the mattress so they would not complain about taking it back. It's perfect, except to sleep on! I was told the owner Craig Carpenter, said I could get a big discount 50% off, if I wanted to buy a THIRD mattress from them. Thus, give them even more money. The company's business practices are in question, with deceptive advertising: 50% off sales that are ongoing, and misleading when they tell you it is for this day or week only, and some sub standard products compaired to what seems to be visible or offered on the show room floor. Orange County Mattress doesn't stand by the products they sell. We spent $3000 there on an Aireloom mattress in 2016, and after 2 1/2 years, we are throwing it away. It was comfortable for 2 years, then began to sag, forming big, permanent dents in the spots where we sleep. This made it uncomfortable for me and gave my husband back pain. The mattress had a 3-year warranty. We called OC Mattress, who referred us to the customer service department of the manufacturer, who sent an inspector. The inspector's report said the dents were less than 1 1/2" deep (they're about 1 1/4" deep) and therefore they will not replace it or give us any compensation. OC Mattress customer service told us there's nothing they can do because the manufacturer is responsible for the warranty. But there is something they could do: Stand by what they sell and replace items that fail because they are of inferior quality. A $3000 mattress should last longer than 2 years. This was the second mattress we've bought at OC Mattress, but will definitely be the last. read more
